I loved how the frist two pros to reach Mark were Derek and Julianne. Seeing as they three of them went to dance school together, not a huge surprise, but it's still cute.

@sabby315 They actually lived together. Derek went to live with Mark's parents in the UK and train at their school. Julianne came over a few years later. Mark and Derek have often said in interviews, that they see each other as brothers.

When Derek won DWTS the season after this one with Brooke Burke the first people to reach them were Mark, Julianne and Corky(Mark's dad), and Derek was lifted up on Mark's shoulders like Mark is on Derek's here.

I was in a difficult position during this season because, though I wanted Kristi and Mark to win so bad, I also wanted Edyta to win because she has just gotten ripped off for practically the entire 6 (well, 10 now) seasons she's been on (with the exception of Joey Lawrence.

shes a olimpic winner (figure skating) and she had to learned ballet, yes ballet can help you a little for the others types of dances, ballroom dances are complicated, ballet can help with flexibility or maybe posture (for some), but isnt everything, is also how you show your emotions, the speed, and how it seems effortless like she did it, but is not effortless obviously.

also sabrina bryan was a dancer, i think she had more "advantage" than kristi, (not only ballet, but hip hop also :D)

Don't get me wrong; I love Kristi's performances... I like her to put more presence in her dancing though...

Anyway, she wasn't an ice skater; she was a FIGURE SKATER. Those girls take BALLET to gain the form, technique and flexibility to be in that field. If she was an Olympian, she HAD to have hours and hours of ballet on top of skating in her training. So, duh! she had an advantage; she's basically danced all her life.

yeah, but ballet and ballroom are completely different things. Ballroom has a huge variety of dancing styles, each with their own footwork and speeds. The only thing that can really prepare you for ballroom dancing is ballroom dancing. Honestly, ballet can't help you with the tango, quickstep, paso, and jive all at once.

You've probably never danced before.Yes, ballet is a different STYLE than ballroom.Yet, people with ballet backgrounds learn to perfect their lines, turn-out, point, flexibility, extension and everything else to EXCEL in MANY dance STYLES.Kristy attained experience in one of the most demanding forms of dance (ballet) for YEARS.None of the others had such a huge advantage.The only way one couldn't understand her advantage would be if you haven't danced competitively...which you obviously haven't.

We all knew kristi was going to win unless the show somehow rigged it. Kristi's level of dancing was clearly above the others from start to finish. (except for a couple dances but it's hard to be good in all 10 dances as a beginner)
