agree , but no one can match buckethead improve, shawn was a master of techniqe , his speed and what he was doing with a whammy bar is incredible, jason , we all know - sweeps :D lol at ma gramma
@Blambla72 I agree, BUT, this is what makes buckethead, Buckethead.. The ability to pull of something so bare and simple, but have it sound so hugely 'touching'
i disagree. as a growing musician buckethead's soft stuff (excluding quite a few classic buckethead songs) have lost their charm to me. they are too sterile. i know every musician has patterns they like, but buckethead uses certain patterns TOO much. that being said his shred licks are also highly repetitive and all of this irritates me because i know buckethead can escape the box he sometimes puts himself in, i have seen and heard it.
yeah, this is one of those songs that aren't your typical buckethead pattern songs like hills of eternity or lone sai bug (or at least i think that's what it's called). i still think buckethead is the greatest guitarist to ever live along with shawn lane, but for me to finally decide between him and shawn lane he would either have to do something even more astonishing or something absolutely horrible.
haha that's incredibly ironic because i have jason becker third. a the same time i think he is the greatest composer of the 3. not the greatest guitarist, but without a doubt the greatest composer. beethoven composed when he was deaf, jason becker composes when he can't even move.
u kno whats pretty crazy about this song... it shows the power and magnitude of what music can do... he barley played anything but 4 some reason we all get what kind of message he was trying 2 send... thats M J stuff is actually a really good analysis of wat he can be tryning 2 say.. maybe he feels empty or something of that nature but its something 4 sure
man this makes me feel like i am legend. All alone in the demolished city everyone has evacuated.you have nothing but yourself with lonelyness and no one to talk to.
@kergio17 I think this is another tribute to Michael Jackson. Buckethead liked him a lot and i think the title "Sunken Statue" is referring to the statue on the cover of Michael's "HIStory Vol 1." Since Michael died, the statue would sink. Could explain the crying. Just my analysis of the Song + Title

Hollywood should use BH to write soundtracks for movies. Perfect fit.

it's nice but it's too samey
there should be more of a melody in parts just to give it some depth
I'm not saying clutter it with unnecessary stuff, it's pretty as it is but it can be raw and emotive while having a little more development
it paints a picture but it's not very versatile as it is, good as film music but with no visual aspect it's a bit too bare

@Blambla72 well, I think the simplicity is the key on this song. I really can't imagine a better production of this song than this one.
