you are right, we should focus on the art. it's just difficult when a group of people love something that you also feel is connected with your own history and identity and they look you straight in the face and say "you have nothing to do with this, you are sub-human".
think about it brother. maybe it's too easy to take the elitist position here.
8) Don't blame Greece, but Albania about human rights, even here there r much to be done about. 9)Albanians, do not trust Americans etc., they don't give a dam about you and us, just they use u as they did with us, they will abandon you when their interests have been fullfilled. And they will leave. But you will live with us for ever. Think about it!
I told u: Think! Neighbours cannot be changed. "God and the neighbour", says an old Greek quote. If we fight each other the others laugh at us. Ok? U can find one million things to divide, just find things that unite, this is the most difficult. No more from me, end.
i agree with that but we can not ignore the past nor should we use it for hate purposes.we should work on them and move on for a better future for the future generations.everything can be resolved if we are honest to each other.
cont.5) If Tsamides want their rights(if any),go to the International Justice.6) Arvanites feel Greek, not Albanians7)Greek and Albanians are similar in much, specially the Southern Albanians(Toskides), there are more similarities of Greeks with Toskides than Toskides with Kosovars, for instance
1) Do u think that Greek started being spoken here since 1832? 2) Who says that Albanians liberated Greece, why they didn't make an Albanian state 4) Tsamides were nazis criminals, cooperated with the occupation forces during WWII
Greek relieving laments called mirol'oyia, come from the ancient word/custom"myro",cry (IliadZ373,X427).They are never fatalist as fearful civilizations are.
this precious cultural style originates in the mountains of albania where we still see these motifs from north to south, east to west.
we'll leave you alone when you stop distorting the memory and contributions of the arvanite albanians who brought this to greece when they emigrated south, upon the request of byzantine emperors, in order to repopulate areas of greece that had been depopulated due to disease and war.
What "Yasso" say, dude, this is Greek. Greek, since the beginning of time. Not albanian, even they are much similar with the southern albanian ones. Ok? Stop nationalostic propaganda with music. Enough is enough.
dude, beginning of time for you is not Ancient Athens, but July 1832, when the Treaty of Istanbul recognized an independent Greece, liberated by Albanian Christians (Souliotes).
personally, i am not a nationalist, but i do believe it is a crime against humanity to take credit for the culture and traditions of another people, as the modern reactionary greek state has done in the case of the albanians.
So there was an ancient place with ancient people, in the pass of time some people died some moved but probably the most tried to stay at the same place.
Those people where called greeks, even having different state-cities, they were all speaking 1 language and had similar traditions.
Where did all those people go?
Albania, Fyrom, Bulgaria, Turkey, Italy.
You are full of the same people but with melted brains.
dude keep watching south park, stay out of history, social anthropology, linguistics, politics, national identity formation and any other more complex issues.
fustanella, tsamiko, and all the other cultural elements that arvanites contributed to greece, originate in our albanian cultural areas where they exist to this day, in more concentrated and nuanced forms.
so that is why i say: YASSO ARVANITA! YASSO CAMERIA!
when your culture progresses a bit more socially and develops tolerance for cultural & religious differences, you may also develop more respect for your neighbors.

time to admit:
1) massive expulsion of jews in WWII (over 90%)
2) destruction of multi-cultural and multi-religious Salonika
3) rape, theft, murder against large albanian population of today's northern greece
4) attempt to destroy the Arvanite identity in greece and all they have given to greece (including its freedom from the ottomans)
5) the lack of separation of religion and state in your corrupt Feta-Cheese Republic
end the lies and save yourselves from the fate of serbia in the EU...

silly comment. you should never assume stupidity on others, it is anti-life on a fundamental level and ultimately leaves one vulnerable.
instead, we should always embrace the unknown with humility, since we cannot ever hope to comprehend the universe in its entirety.
balkancoolhead 2 years ago
Greeks have been in Epirus since Ancient times
Albanians have been there almost as long, since they probably descend from the ancient illyrians
Is it that hard to comprehend that both groups, intermixed as they were, would play the same style of music?
Is not the the music in Osman Taka's (an Albanian) song Greek? Albanian bands themselves admit it. (see Eckehard Pistrick)
Also, we don't need Albanians to remind us to honour our Arvanites.

Dude by trying to put a label on me you are losing credits.
Can you tell me who is the ancestor of albanians?
History doesn't say that albanians defeated persians, turks and a lot of other invading armies that tried to take europian soil.
I really wanna know how did the "albanian ancestors" were called.
My opinion on the matter, albanians in the past had a different name than now.
Search a bit the history that you only can handle and answer me back.
