usaully ones with one pickup are for players that just use one sound. usauly your bridge pickup is more trebly and has bite, and the neck pickup is warm and smooth.

The guitars with 1 pickup have 1, and guitars with 2 pickups have 2 pickups. There is a difference between the neck pickup and the bridge pickup on the guitar. Try googling it, im not sure what it is.
