First of all, I have never been to California, so I have no horse in this race. But I've seen this play many times, and did not see a forward lateral. I does appear that the player who received the second lateral MAY HAVE had his knee down on the turf before he lateralled the ball. This has been looked into time and again, and it could not be determined with any certainty that he was or wasn't down. The officials made the call, and that's that. It's history now...most amazing play ever.

The thing is Stanford had this under control. They made two goofs in the end. After the next to last run that almost scored there were 23 seconds left. QB John Elway was one of the best in the country and should have just let the clock run down to 4 seconds and then called time out. That way the extra point would have been the last play of the game. Also after the last run QB John Elway called timeout with 8 seconds left when he should have let it run down to 4 seconds left.

Pointing out that the game officials missed the player being down before tossing the ball as well as a forward lateral does not make someone a loser. Calling others "losers" is proof that you know you're wrong.
