  • I wonder how these NARROW minded people ever managed to live more than a few days.. This may be a movie but people like this should be shot, Narrow mindedness kills anything !

  • This is truly awful! I won't even go into how badly (and ill-advisedly) it strays from HG Wells' source material, but even the 'history' of the witchcraft trials is wrong; no witches were ever burned in colonial America (hung, stoned or drowned). This is a "Buck Rogers" version of the classic story; complete with ugly disco clothes and cheap looking photography. Wow... amazing.

  • good nostalgia, I was young then , remember polyester,

  • this sucks! nothing like the book!!

  • Voyagers! a time travel show from 1982, must have been directly inspired from this scene . In episode 4 'Agents of Satan' they help Abiah Folger, Ben Franklin's mother in the same manner. And the Voyagers accused of being demons. Phineas Bogg the older time traveler is put on the stake to burn too! Even their time machine the omni was accused of being a tool of the devil. Interesting. Bogg gets out because Jeffrey his partner swipes the omni in time and they disappear. Cool post!

  • still a good effort, iv seen them all but this one, disco style was in, and big hair, beena long time since iv seen Beck, wonder if he is still around.

  • So I guess the machine can move through space, too? Otherwise it doesn't explain his going from 1690s New England to appearing inside a mountain in the mid-19th century.

  • I am sure that that's exactly how the Puritans spoke. Their English was modern not old King's English, with no accent! Truly awful! This was the typical garbage that the networks offered back in the '70's BC, before cable. Everything is high drama with low production value, and that dialog, man, truly brutal. But still it has a kind of cheesy charm that can be enjoyed. It's still crap, but, it's fun crap to watch just to immerse yourself in 1970's cheese!!! Stay cheesy my friends!

  • 00:48 It be ith witchery!

  • An exciting adaptation of H,G, Wells story--HAH---he's rolling and puking in grave over this one!

  • This movie gets a little better as it goes on as long as you don't think too much about the other versions of the Time Machine.

  • 3:27 to 5:34

  • Rush Witch Hunt 50 years after the making of this movie. It's 2010, and we are from the future. Can you hear us?

    /watch?v=n5di_3FsyYk

  • He can hold back dogs and men with guns with a small stick

  • Both this lead actor and the lead actor of the original 1960 version were paired together in 'Outlaws' which also dealt with time travel.

  • @kmg4 Yeah, I've seen that show when I was a kid back in 1988. A bunch of wild west lawmen & they're fugitive transported forward in time when lightning strikes them, am I right? I love that show but they only showed a few episodes before it got discontinued.

  • @TogieTung That is correct. That 80s show featured the lead actors from the 1960 Time Machine and 1978 Time Machine, interestingly.

  • like 50 10 year olds chanting "BURN WITCH BURN!" and i live right next to a school.

  • This was a made for Tv show I saw it when it first aired in 78.

  • This almost looks like something that would have been made into a Television show.

  • What a cheap way to make a time machine..Looks made in a day ..The original looked beautiful. And even the effects were better in the 1960 version.

  • Couldn't the Director have spread out the crowd a bit better at 02:36. they look like they're posing for a photo.

  • A paperclip and all he can do is pick the lock. MacGyver could have taken that paperclip and built a tank with it and crashed thru the wall .

  • If he is in California how come there are Pilgrims? Does the machine stay in the same place like in all the other versions or does it change physical locations?

  • A Wizard Did It.

  • @XXL2oo heheh yeah! good old simpsons humor....

  • @RosannasMom

This is Massachusetts, near Salem in 1692 - which equals witches. Not California. Those folk are Puritans, but not the Pilgrim Fathers :) He doesn't go to Calif. until he comes out of the mine in 1849 :)

  • @RosannasMom Actually, in "Time After Time" H.G. Wells went from 1895 London to 1979 San Francisco. But your point is still valid. It's just a bad made-for-TV movie. Even four-year-old kids like me saw through this.

  • @RosannasMom In "Time After Time" (1979) HG Wells began in his workshop in London and ended up in San Fransisco. By all standards the machine should never move from its spot.

  • @silvereagle2061 that's exactly what I thought! :)

  • I love the Jupiter 2 engine sound with the Enterprise transporter effect

  • @RosannasMom His machine has some bugs.

  • This scene has Zero value.

A scientist and totally speechless on technology or the art of philosophy.

He could have ask them something like "How do you know your own god did not use witchcraft to make the Earth appear from nowhere?"

  • @trentcreek very well said and excellent point!

  • Pilgrims in the arena, then hundreds of years later the gold rush. And the Younger brothers who robbing banks 20 years after the gold rush. Not very accurate!

  • I watched this repeatedly when I was a kid.

  • hi, wish I could have a copy of this movie it's such a true classic why oh why dosen't CBS TV DVD DIVISION PUT THIS CLASSIC TO DVD..

  • Original is lost in Time.
