however, I must say your form is not very good. Focos on starting the lift with your legs; straighten your back. Right now you are rounding your back which can hurt you greatly. Secondly, this should be one fluid motion. You take a break midway through...looks like to either catch your breath or get extra strength to finish. Finally, let the bar down slowly, "bending" your hips and knees to allow it to pass. I think with proper form you could get above 315.
by all means use your back muscles, its a back exercise, but make sure your back stays straight, think of looking slightly up and puffing your chest out. I'm moderately experienced, im 19 and pulled 405 for the first time last tuesday lol. But yeah use about 60%back 40% legs and keep your back straight, good advice also about the hips......good luck
the form wasnt great, im 17 and ive been lifting for over a year now, and i competitively powerlift, my deadlift is at 440 right now and i compete at 145 lbs and i walk around at about 150, so i know a bit, you wanna keep your butt lower to the ground and use less back, backing the weight puts too much stress on the back, keep a bigger chest and your head up and keep your ass low to the ground , and you should gain some weight on the lift
Form is bad... You want to drive your ass lower to the floor and then look up when you are lifting the weight off the floor. Right now you are using too much of your upper back and you'll end up injuring yourself...
your form was excellent, don't change a thing!, keep cracking this weight you have hardcore training in you, thats fuking awesome to see. Alot of guys now adays use straps and are pure pussys with their gay bodybulding routines this is pure heart WESTSIDE BARBELL, all the way. Check it out on youtube or google. "WESTSIDE BARBELL" keep up the good work!
You aren't far off. Get hips lower, keep weight on heels, shoot hips forward as bar passes your knees. Stay flexible, warm up well and don't deadlift too often. Others may have better advice, but it works for me!
good advice from this guy. especially about shooting the hips forward. that might help save some back bone. i d recommend only deadlifting twice a month at most.
Good back strength! You have great potential. If you are serious about lifting, get some good technique instruction and set a proper schedule and diet. Good work
Thats a good way to get a hernia. Lol

im 165lbs and do sets of 315. why do u just do one rep? isnt it better to crank out 10 or 12?
dwrobel89 9 months ago
@dwrobel89 Funnily enough, powerlifters work best at one rep due to their muscles and more importantly their CNS

form isn't great but is understandably taxed by the lift.
