My parents bought her albums. I am 57 years old and she is still one of my most favorite songstress'. I saw her this past summer at the Hollywood Bowl and she was still as fabulous as ever. Miss Wilson is the epitome of the jazz divas. There are many young folks out there who need to listen to her sing and appreciate the interpretation of the classics. Lena Horne is gone, but we still have Nancy! I also saw her at the BlueNote and believe me she was absolutely stunning. Sexy as a fox, in her seventies! There will never be another singer like Nance Wilson. She was and still is the greatest female jazz vocalist. My parents took me to see her in NYC back in 1968 when I was 10 years old and I will never forget that gig. Her vocal range was intoxicatingly amazing and gave me goose bumps all over. She also is adept at creating a ambiance onstage (in a small theater probably better) that no one can equal. Her live album,"at the coconut grove" in 1965 was so perfect from beginning to end.
