What would you say is a better version>>Xbox Sega Rally or Arcade Sega Rally?..or even your prefference?..BTW im trying for ages to beat your Outrun Arcade 360 goal A top score!! lol.
man that was quick. I tried to do it with manual, and no crash, but still end up with 16 seconds left at the end. Whats the trick? do u use full throttle all the time? handbrake?
As one of or was at the time... best players on Sega Rally (REVO) XBOX 360 I was just trying to impliment what I was doing at home with a control pad on the arcade. The video was my 2nd go on the arcade and from my point of view its slow. :)
Just before you take-off on a jump release the gas. The car wont jump so high, less air time carrys more speed once you land.
When using the E-brake fully let off the gas or the car will slow alot more...
I think in the vid I just dabbed the brake while steering in, dropping one gear to get the car to coast around the corner which carrys speed more so on that hair-pin.
One more thing. The arcade may have a difficulty setting, hard would mean less time... To be honest I dont know for sure but that would be the case if it is.
I think looking at the vid I did the 2 laps in 1min 50seconds. Thats what your goal should be, not the count down timer. You never know you could be quicker than what you see here! Good luck.
hmm....very interesting, just one thing, a hairpin like in 0:35 you use what? let off the gas then handbrake? i normally just gear down once. One more thing i do is, in a corner like 0:08 i usually put the gas on and off to find rhythm and good lining, is that a correct way to do it? how often do you do this? or u just simply slam the gas? btw i got to 20 secs left with mitsubishi manual, but i could do that only because mitsubishi is fastest on straight way.
@ 0:35 No handbrake, as I said above for technique. I think I used half gas to get the car to coast around the corner and as u can see I'm using the bank of the corner to carry the car around to maintain the speed without the car sliding to much.
To be honest I was in London on business that day and poped into trocadero later in the afternoon just to have a blast as it was one of the 1st in the country to have it. I have not been on it since... Sorry.
With reguards to the XBOX 360 Sega Rally (Revo) the arcade Tropical course is in fact a cut down version of Tropical 2. Alpine on arcade also shares some of the course from 360's Alpine 1. Look @ my other vids and take a peek at "Sega Rally XBOX 360 - 03'08"37 Alpine1". I know its a MASTER car but it may help with technique ideas on the arcade on this stage.
also while I remember. In the above vid I'm in the Subaru Impreza. I only used this car on the arcade because of what I was doing on 360.
On 360 the Impreza is the best overall car in its class and will eat the Mitsubishi for breakfast. Infact the Mitsubishi on 360 is the slowest car in the Premier Class.
If the stats hold true on the arcade to that of the home version then you could be in the wrong car.
I'm very sorry I can not help much more. You the man to try!
Not that you can see, but the seat moves while you play which I do agree does not make it worth the £2 price tag. The only reward maybe is that one play could have you sat on Sega Rally 3 between 6 to say 8 minutes if your playing the championship mode. But still...

Tricks of the trade that can help:
Just before you take-off on a jump release the gas. The car wont jump so high, less air time carrys more speed once you land.
When using the E-brake fully let off the gas or the car will slow alot more...
I think in the vid I just dabbed the brake while steering in, dropping one gear to get the car to coast around the corner which carrys speed more so on that hair-pin.
