  • how do the spanning mechanisms work?

  • I'm not sure what do you mean by spanning mechanisms -i'm not very good at english tech terms. If you mean the trigger - it's a little complicated- on the first crossbow it consists of 5 parts and on the second one of 8, so i can't explain them here.May be if you watch the video more you can figure it out.Unfortunatelly i don't have a camera now and can't make a detailed vid about the crossbows mechanisms.

  • Very nice!

  • Thanks!

  • love the pump action cant u put a magazine on it like mine c my vid

  • Very Cool..!

  • Thanks, Bo!

  • Good job, nice homemade crossbows!

The Perfect Line?? I also have the same PL 150lbs crossbow I like it! But I don't have scope on it just simple sights.

  • Thanks! The scope is not perfect, but costs only 5 euros and works fine.

  • ooh thats coool very nice i want too a crossbow but i cant have everything that i want ;(( not enough money ;((

  • The Taiwanian crossbows are cheap, but with a good quality, you can take one, when you have enough money. :)

  • (Kaziklu79) crossbows huh!

Did you ever try hunting them or just enjoy shooting. My club the united bowhunters of new jersey they don't wan't them approve for hunting in new jersey,

  • I shoot them just for fun, only once shot a mouse with the second one, but my sister, who was 4-5 years old then, was so shocked that i've never repeated :) Why they don't approve the crossbows? There isn't much difference between the crossbow and the vertical bow and for accuracy- if you can hunt with a rifle, why not with a crossbow.

  • Kaziklu79 they are running test in 2010 to see how it works. My club is the most powerful club in the state of new jersey and they don't wan't crossbows legal for bowhunting in new jersey hey they just got sunday bowhunting legal yesterday the governor of new jersey just signed the bill. And now the anti-hunters are going to be crying.

  • good job

  • Thanks!

  • after using a 18 inch long piece of quarter inch fiberglass rod, i can safly and gladly say it is the most power i have gotten from my pistol crossbow yet!!! thanks alot, and i cant stop watching ur video! great job. real craftsmanship!!!

  • Thanks! Glad to understand you have success. Good luck!

  • being a well educated crossbow maker (very good too) what would u say to a strong fiberglass rod for the bow??

  • Thank you for the compliment, but i'm not so good.I've never used fiberglass and can't talk from a personal experience, but as you know most of the modern bows(the limbs) are made from this material and so it must be ideal. If you have a proper piece you can try it and it will be great to write what is the result.

  • would you be able to tell me what the bows are made of? fiberglass rods? or springsteel? im trying to find a good matirial for the bow on my pistol crossbow i am making. right now im using hacksaw blades, but they arent powerful enough... thanks alot!!

  • nathansekul,my bows are made of springsteel-from an old big umbrella. If you can't find enough hard one,you can use 2,4 or 6,even 8,but i think your idea for the hacksaw blades is very good-just put more blades-may be 5 or more.I don't know whether the "perfect line" products are sold in Canada, but they have bows for pistol crossbows, sold separetly. If your crossbow is hard enough,i recomend you to put one of this-they are very cheap and powerfull.

  • Well done man for making yourself such a crossbow and as far as I can see the second one is a perfect line crossbow, is it worth buying it, for instance can it perform well with a 50 pound dog

  • Yes,it is a fine crossbow and its price is its best quality. There are also cheap broadheds for the arrows, but i wouldn't shoot an animal.I use it for target shooting and have fun with it.If you have problems with a dog, you'd better use something else.

  • the last one is the same as mine, hope yours doesnt do what mine did, when i had it loaded the trigger switch inside snapped and sent it through my fence into next door. got a new one made from tunston.

  • I haven't had any problems with it yet.

  • From umbrella, sounds nice.. :) Gona make one!

  • Good luck!If you like,i can make some drawings of the trigger and send you an e-mail.

  • nice crossbow!!!!!

  • Hey nice vid, Could u say how did u make your bow and show arrows?

  • Thanks!Well,it will be hard to explain, because of my english and because of the complexity of the crossbow.the arrows are just simple plastic pens, whith hard steel wire on the top and vanes from a plastic bottle. Some parts of the crossbow(mainly of the trigger) are made on a lathe. For the limbs i've used steel springs(from a beach umbrella,if this is the correct word). The cord- a simple 0.9mm fishing one.The quality of the video isnt perfect, but if you watch it carefuly you can see some details.
