Midday monsters the first and probably the best snook video i've ever seen. Shows you how they can just Swallow a huge bait in one shot. This video right here is a great depiction of why this man Loves to fish! The anticipation of dropping a big live bait down is incredible, and when it gets smacked... forget about it! Gettem Capt!
haha captain you took a swim. makes me feel better about coming down there though and getting a charter trip with ya. if your going in it isnt so bad if i do hahaha. me and a friend are trying to get down there fo a full day tarpon/ goliath challenge. i gotta work out for a few months i think though after watching the show. another shout out from minnesota!!! chew on this!!
The cat fish that you were using... Don't they have Barb fins that if you touch them it hurts or effects you some way?... I fish in fort myers and i am not sure on how to handle a cat fish.... & did you cutt the barbs off when you where fishing with the cat fish.... Thanks Good Job Capt Ben...
4 would a hand line work just as well for snook? cause i have used hand lines with monster tarpoon and it works pretty well for me. anyway, i live in the united states virgin islands and i have seen other captians catch snook but they are not to keen on letting me in on the secret. please help!!!
your my idle, best show on tv, i saw your show once while visiting in florida, i plan to move down there and fish alot more then one week out of the year, keep up the great shows
Right now the show is being aired on the Sportsman Channel. I have a client coming down in March who just emailed me from Houston and he said he saw the show on the Sportsman Channel today.
Awsome video I had a quick question I live in Lee County and fish alot, And that dock looks very familiar is that where they dock the Sanibel Princess ?

No Sir not rigged. I actually caught the Goliath first and then the Snook. I was already pumped up. I had 130 pound braid Fins line a Cape Fear 15-40 and a bunch of drag. Did you noticed how hard he pulled when I got him to the top of the water. He was fired up. Thanks for watching.
hey capt. just a few days ago some guy reeled in a HUGE blue shark about 10 feet 450lbs. also people are catching haddock pollack and cod in HUGE numbers all from 15-30lbs
i am moving to the sturt area soon, are there any public docks or piers you could suggest for someone with no boat.?? great show thanks for the entertainment.
I think the best part of this was the snook you caught on the catfish whee did you come up with that I mean like you said those are the things we throw away.
wow i gotta hand it to you man those are some great snook! i was wondering where you were fishing in this episode and if marco island is a good place to catch snook and if so, what's a good bait to use?
I think the biggest snook in SW Florida comes out from that dock. I pulled one out that taped ~54" in the water (didn't have the heart, or strength to pull her out of the water).
Capt. Ben, have you put together an out-takes vid? One of you falling over board, tossing figure-8 cast nets, hooking your t-top on a back cast, getting stuck by a catfish barb, etc? Please do, to show the rest of us you are human!
damn cap you got my true love and i live in mn i got the saltwater bug 5 yrs ago and you are doing what i honestly think and dream and read about every day god bless you my man from a plumber in minnesota. keep chewin and why dont you have a contest to go fish with you,i'll sign up.later bro

1 what is the best bait for snook?
2 where is the best place to look for snook?
3 what pound test should i use?
4 would a hand line work just as well for snook? cause i have used hand lines with monster tarpoon and it works pretty well for me. anyway, i live in the united states virgin islands and i have seen other captians catch snook but they are not to keen on letting me in on the secret. please help!!!
koryio1113 2 years ago
1. There is no best bait. You just have to figure out what they are eating.
2. Snook have a wide habitat. I tend to fish them in structure.
3. I like heavier line in the 50 to 130 pound class.
4. Sure you can give it a shot.

which the size and number of leader do you use?
which libragem of equipment (rod and line)?
what is the reel you use?
thanks
zaidanrobalo 3 years ago
I used an Eagle Claw 10/0 Tuna Hook for structure fishing.
I use 80-125 pound Suffix Fluro leader
I had a Cape Fear 25-50 Man O War rod with 80-130 pound Braided line.
The reel I use now is an Avet MXL 2spd
Thanks for watching the show.
