I bought this game yesterday, used. It would be a really fun game...if the controls wouldn't suck that bad. I tried every style, they all suck. FPSs aren't for handhelds, this game proves it. I hope they make Metroid Dread for the 3DS though, it the rumors are true and that it'll be a side-scroller.

I had a theory that the reason Sylux hates the Federation was because they put him/her into the suit, and he/she hates Samus because the suit was based off of reverse-engineering her Power Suit...

And that the whole thing about the suit, the shock coil and the Delano 7 being stolen was all to cover up the failed experiment.

Just a theory, and we may never know the truth...

Maybe it's not just some lowly flunky pirate. Maybe it's a Pirate Commando, or a Pirate Aerotrooper, or possibly a shell/crap clone of Ridley somehow. **shrug**

All I do know is that he is NOT human, despite his humanoid form. Take a look at the Sylux character art over at Wikitroid. His eyes are way too big to be human.

....and yes you can see them through the visor, for anyone who wants to say "durrr he has da helmuts on" :|

Judging by the overall shape I thinking its a human...and because of the lack gender pronoun usage when its described its a possibility that its is indeed a female(they did the same thing with Samus in the original Metroid).

yup i though that to then i played that 1 spyro game on the ds you know the one with elijah woods as voice actor the cutscenes looked like the gameqube quality stuff so did the menu and so do the attack cutscenes on populus DS

Yes, it is cannon. I know some Metroid fans that want to believe it never happened. As a stand alone game and a multiplayer game, it's great. As a Metroid game compared to others, it's only ok.

Imagine making this a commercial but with only the names being shown for each person. This would generate all sorts of talk I bet as people began to notice the subtle connections and then finally we end with Samus and "METROID PRIME HUNTERS". If every commercial had a distinctive piece like some sort of interface to it that came up before or after the segment, it would be viral until the last one where it is revealed.
