  • i have the mc farlane robocop i got it a while ago and opened it but im planning to get the neca one and keep it in the package and awesome video btw and one question why do you have so many neca robocop figures thx

  • i have the mcfarlane one and it look samazing better than the neca one

  • I have both NECA and McFarlane...the NECA Robocop beats the McFarlane version in every way, including film/sculpt accuracy. And the articulation...wow! This is my 6inch scale Robocop figure to go with my other movie 6inch figures. I have him posed with my Hasbro Movie Thor 6inch figure, and they look great together. Thank you NECA! Now build that large ED-209 figure...as is right now!

  • The trash can looks like a bin of cocaine. Could it be from the warehouse raid with the guns and shells all over the base?

  • Good comparison video !

  • NECA beats the McFarlane version in many ways. And for those arguing about the visible nose, it's fixable. The sculpt, articulation and movie accuracy is much better on the NECA version. Probably the only thing better on the McFarlane version is the paint job and it's pretty much a solid figure that doesn't seem to have any quality control issues.

  • You should compare the NECA version with the new Figma version.

  • Neca wins the only problem is the paint job

  • @mcdonaldization I agree. The visible nose is just another one of NECA's lack of quality control because they didn't glue the helmet properly. I think it's fixable. Other than the paint job/quality control, NECA wins in many different ways.

  • I want to buy this figure but the following sentence from an Amazon review is putting me off. Can you tell me if you agree? 'you can see Robocops nose poking out just below the helmet. There is absolutely no need for this. NECA probably thought it might be a nice added touch. Its not. It is not screen accurate and it looks wrong. Also the head-sculpt is too small, you have to remember a human head is meant to be inside of Robocop's helmet'

  • @TeamOfThe80s Hey, thanks for the question. Yeah, you totally see the nose as you notice from this vid. Plus like we said, if you compare the two figures, Mcfarlane just seems to be much more movie accurate like you said about the head. But some people like the Neca figure better because it is less expensive ($16-$18 at your local ToyRUs), greater articulation, and just plain eaiser to find. The choice is totally up to you. :) thanks for watching!

  • Dear Neca,

    Please build an ED-209 figure!

    Thanks

  • I think they miss a trick with both of these by not having the ability to put the gun in his thigh as with the movies. Both look good though.

  • @TheNightBadger They waren't aiming for it. Because if they added that, it would exceed its budget and the figure will be expensive. And besides, they made it for display, it's not like you're going to display him while he's inserting the gun in his opened thigh.

  • @SURROUNDEDBYCOMMENTS Worth nothing; the massively expensive Hot-Toys Robocop has an opening leg. Also just heard that Figma are releasing a Robocop in a couple of months; changeable leg (one is open); changeable gun (one has a 'firing' look); changeable head (one is damaged); and changeable hand (one with spike).

  • @TheNightBadger I know, but the Figma is more of a collector's item and more expensive. As for the Hot Toys, you said it yourself, massively expensive. As for the Neca and McFarlane they waren't meant to be expensive. Depends on what you can pay actually. That's the competition between these companies. A guy like me has a lot of other interests than Robocop to put my money on. I might as well buy the Neca one as it is low-priced and a decent looking 7 inch in my collection.

  • @SURROUNDEDBYCOMMENTS " A guy like me has a lot of other interests than Robocop to put my money on." I hear that! I've gone for the Figma, but the Neca one (I think) was better value. I'll just hope the Figma lives up to the price tag...

  • thanks for the video! helps me make my decission of which one to buy.

  • @eccentricness81 Sure! Glad you liked it! Which one are you gonna get? :D

  • @TheFusioncomics i ended up getting both of them! how many neca ones do you have?

  • I wanted the McFarlane Robocop, but the prices online are a little more than my frugal nature would allow me to spend. I just picked up the NECA fig today at Toys R Us and I have to say I like it. I don't know about anyone else who has it, but I was surprised just how sharp the data spike is. It will bend when steady pressure is applied, but its sturdy enough to poke through me jeans.

  • @ShadowACE1998 Thanks for the comment. Yeah be careful with the data Spike! :)

  • 6:30 Dude cut your finger nails. gee!!!

  • i just bought the neca and it reminds me more of robocop from the first movie. not as refined. which makes it really cool

  • mcfarlane wins!!! 100%

  • this is not a trash can its a cocaina can!!! you see robocop 1?? plis!

  • @JesusInNike23 Rewatch the film. After the explosion at the gas station his armor is more blue. I'm not saying super blue like it was in Robocop 2, but it definitely has a bluish tint going on.

  • McFarlane looks way better.

Also, pardon me from not taking seriously a review from a guy who " Doesn't know why they included the trash can... ".

  • An asian guy a fan of robocop? cool!!

  • @DarKKnightt07 Asians are fans of everything, silly.

  • @TwistedMetalLegion That's funny. We heard he is also a fan of terminators.... :)

  • Great review! Was hoping this was on here!

  • the nose cannot be seen either in the movie... Neca's robocop is good, but I think McFarlanes is better =) GREAT review :3

  • The NECA version is more practical. Articulation and it's easy to get.

  • Thank you for the great review! I used to have the McFarlene Robocop and before your review I thought they just reissued the scuplt for NECA. I love the new articularion in the NECA figure. Thanks again.

  • @malcolmar Glad you liked it! Neca is definitely worth getting if you are a robo fan like us! :)

  • McFarlane figure is better still I would buy the Neca one for a dollar! :p

  • I prefer the Mcfarlane one!

  • Dude, great review! clear and good camera work. Got my subscription!

  • After rewatching the first film, the McFarlane Robocop is the most accurate. The NECA head sculpt is actually really off in terms of width, size and the nose. Robocop's nose is not suppose to show, and it doesn't show in any other movies or shows. I have no idea why NECA went to all that trouble to sculpt a nose. This gun is a little off too, it's missing the extended clip which the MCF one has. NECA's Robocop is also skinnier all around and doesn't have as defined calves and rear like MCF's.

  • @basicstories We are glad that you agree! McFarlane's head sculpt is truely movie accurate . Thanks for your feedback! Now stay out of trouble.... :)

  • awesome review! where did you get this one??

  • @metalskull5000 We purchased them at Toy's R Us.Waited for the store to open on inventory day and rushed in... :)

  • I personally want Robocop and the Terminator Police Shootout figure.

you cant ask for a cooler showdown. =)

  • @CorporalDwaynHicks Totally agree! you saw that figure in the display huh? :) Can't wait until sept. !

  • also in mcfarlane figure the waist also moves!

  • "articulation dominance" ! i like that!

i got the neca figure today and i am happy to have it. i would get the mc figure too, but it's too expensive. they both look good. too similar. often times mc and neca make figures very similar, whereas mezco will have a nifty look. if mezco got the license that would be a different looking figure. otherwise both these figures look nice and they're both very similar.

very nice review. very detailed. thanks.

  • the only thing mcfarlane figure has movie accurate is the head and the blue tint in the paint!the body of neca is more movie accurate especially the chest!mcfarlane's chest is too bended!

  • Impressive figure, who can not miss in a collection! Great review!

  • The NECA figure definitely looks more accurate. The different indentations and creases on Robocop are much more exaggerated on Mcfarlane's version, while NECA's is more accurate to the film. I'm watching the movie now and Robocop doesn't get the blue tint until after the explosion at the gas station, so technically both are accurate when it comes to paint.

  • @thatdoomguy666 Thanks for the feedback! It's great that you are watching the film again! :)

  • @TheFusioncomics

    Nice review dude.

I got both neca and mcfarlane. But why did you say mcfars waist doesnt move? Of course it does. You twist it at the bottom at the black part, just above his groin. Necas one moves at a different place. It moves its chest instead of the waist.

  • @womblewandering Thanks for letting us know. I guess the mcfarlane figure's waist that we had was stuck together pretty tight - and we didn't want to force it... Glad you have both! :)

  • @TheFusioncomics

Lol its ok dude. I figured you didnt dare move the waist.

I prefer neca myself cos the body and face looks better overall. Mfars is good but the body is too skinny and theres a beer belly. And why you got so many necas anyway? You selling them?

  • @thatdoomguy666 - right said man :)

  • @thatdoomguy666 mcfarlane ROBOCOPis more movie accurate dude

  • Indeed it's a really interesting and useful review vid, keep it up!

  • Great review man, yup both have good points :D maybe ill get the neca one, coz the mcfarlane is very hard to come by this days..

  • NECA says their version is more movie accurate. Personally I like the paint on MCF. I use to like the sculpt too but after seeing the NECA version, the MCF Robocop looks kind of fat.

  • @basicstories Thanks for the feeback! Since Neca's bust looks bigger, the waist to bust ratio really does make Neca Robocop look fit.

  • @TheFusioncomics Which do you like better?

  • @basicstories I love the Mcfarlane's shinny and blue tint paint job. When they are side by side, the Mcfarlane just seem to have more detail since the company that I work for (fusion comics) owns a replica suit. But I keep the Neca figure on my desk cause it just so much fun posing it. Plus the data spike rocks! :)
