  • You are really good! Doing better than I do--- I am much older and don't have my heart in it anymore. Keep going, you can make it great!!!

  • nice, just want's me to start a barbeque and relax with a cold one. thanks

  • dont forget the author = Juventino Rosas

  • I love this song on any language but this version is very well played .......

  • Thanks so much for sharing this little tune. I LOVE IT! Keep it up, Matthew.

  • good gracheiss alive he looks just like me !! and MY NAMES MATTHEW !!!!!

  • You play this song to its true melody and add your unique style to it. You make it your own Matthew. I believe if you played random notes and i could sit and listen for hours on end or until you pooped out!

  • i just bougth a violin yestarday and its a very diffucult instrument

  • Very nice!

    Really enjoyed, here!

    Very best wishes!

    GinMillBill

  • @0416371 Thank you from my ascendant uncle! Its a pleasant song.

  • Grandioso, me gusto! Great, loved it!

  • @linew traidor......

  • How cute is this kid? Great job. Hearing the person filming humming adds to the sweetness of this. ;)

  • Juventino Rosas, MEXICO .1868-1894 Sbre las Olas "over the waves" keep playing !!

  • Isn't this being done for a friend's birthday? It's a very lovely gesture which I'm sure he enjoyed! It shows sensitivity and consideration of others, fans, friends, family/

    Bravo. Will

  • I was recently listening to Connie Francis' recording of this song in Italian titled "The Loveliest Night Of The Year." I must say that your version as "Over The Waves" is equally enjoyable. Will

  • @wrdane Over the waves is the original song written in 1888 by a spanish composer Juventina Rosas. If you scrolled down to Don Miguel you' have seen that.

In Spanish it's called Sobre Las Olas..Over the Waves. Don't forget Maerio Lanza's version Lovliest Night.

  • Juventino Rosas Was a Mexican Composer, not Spanish.

  • @maradona57118 You are absolutely correct, I meant to say "Mexican", but with us Gringos, sometimes with get caught overlooking the difference. But thanks for fixing it.

  • I'm gonna learn that. (: My teachers from the Grand Old Opry! :D

  • Nice I'm 11 and I can play the violin too. But I'm a beginner. I can play play twinkle twinkle little star. But on the piano I'm really good. You played really nice keep playin and expand the songs you play. You might become a mucisian if you keep it up. I am much to in to school to want to be a mucisian

  • ★★★★★ Keep playing Young Man & I will listen with great pleasure.

  • A fine combination of instrument and player. As for "old fiddle tune",that sounds too hayseedy. This tune is/has been played by the worlds finest orchestras.I would stack Matthew as good as any.

  • 上手です。good!

  • Muy bien, Juventino Rosas would be proud! =]

  • Nice my amigo...such a great skill.....

  • Good violin playing

  • such a lovely waltz thanks for posting it

  • you are great i like your version of the song. I always play it on the organ but it's great to hear it played on a violin. keep it up, keep playing......

  • Congratulations on over 7,000 views Matthew! It is amazing how much you have grown, in height, and playing ability in the last year. Thanks for playing with us. The North Idaho Hat Band

  • 10 stars my amigo.

  • AWESOME.

  • When growing up, my dad would play his Gibson guitar, and I, the Baldwin piano, to the tune of this beautiful Over The Waves Waltz. Great job, Matthew!

I also enjoyed Midnight Waltz that you do with the North Idaho Hat Band. It is a shame that, for whatever reason, your youtube version of that song does not allow comments or ratings. I would certainly have given you a 5-star. : )

  • Some good fiddling Matt

  • How long has he been playing?

  • I love this waltz, and you play it very well. Thanks for posting it.

  • nice playing. you're in tune too, which ain't easy on a fiddle!
