  • The best pool players have zero chance against even average snooker players if they dared to play them at snooker. It's just a fact.

  • 90% of the users who insult Strickland are 10x more immature than he is. You can't deny that he is an amazing player, and there isn't anyone more entertaining to watch. Also, nobody gives a damn if Snooker is played on a bigger table than pool. If you think Earl or any of the top pool players would have trouble potting balls on a slightly bigger table, you are only fooling yourself.

  • @onegow Stickland has a lot of skill but he has no manners. Snooker (World Champion style) is a gentleman's game, there is great sportsmanship & an audience that aren't jeering yobbos. Although Ronnie isn't the best example of the decency of snooker he is leagues above the shamefully conducted Strickland. Acting like a toddler throwing their toys out of the pram, having a tantrum just would not be tolerated in snooker.

+ Snooker is a much harder game to master, you are fooling yourself.

  • This Strickland arse wipe isn't worthy to lick Ronnie's boots.

  • Putting everything else to one side - surely Strickland is the biggest dickhead ever to play any sport?

  • Only one better player and thats hendry!! Strickland couldn't cope with most snooker players! Snooker is a far harder game! 9 ball is like potting into buckets!

  • @kris24ish yea its hard to keep urself awake. strickland can cope with anybody in the planet in any cue sport.

  • @DouzoOcc Strickland would have no chance at snooker, so get real.

  • love it how every time strickland goes for a safety o'sullivan just puts him in a much better snooker :L

  • that's a triumph of pure natural skill over practised application with aptitude . Ronnie is a natural wonder wheras the other dude has born ability and game knowledge .

  • @barmouthtown natural wonder? ROFL. play all your life almost all day long everyday. thats not a natural wonder

  • look at the second one below this ........ bet he's american ! seriously are you proud he reprisented your nation ????? erm Nope lol !

  • Ronnie is a legend , he is a great sportsman , Earl is an absolutely brilliant player but what an unsportsmanly TWAT ! cant stand him

  • @mobydiculous82 ronnie has had his cases of unpoliteness, but no one criticizes him because earl strickland is actually the only one that gives attention to the stupid crowd. people like that, "cant stand him" bullshit you love it

  • strickland - what a miserable cunt

  • @6anatolyy4 6anatolyy4 - what a nobody shit talking useless piece of crap

  • @DyMannlich Strickland? I completely agree.

  • @6anatolyy4 strickland is a living legend and you are just another random punk

  • @DyMannlich Quite funny how you see snooker players turn their hand to pool just for some extra cash. Don't see it the other way around. Cant be that good - O'Sullivan sent him packing with his ass in a sling :)

  • @6anatolyy4 also quite funny how they almost never win tourneys, much less 5 us open nine ball championships and 3 world nine ball championships, which is unmatched even today. snooker is boring no one cares about it. the match was close, it was just some matches and it was even divided by sets of 3. on their level anyone can win. but make it a race to 8 or race to 11 and sulivan cant even beat average nine ball players

  • @DyMannlich "much less 5 us open nine ball championships and 3 world nine ball championships. He got beat by a 19 yr old doing it for some extra pin-money. Job done in my book. Next!.

  • @6anatolyy4 ronnie wasnt a random player, he was just too good in snooker. and thats just a mosconi match, individual match doesnt give you money there.

and he would never ask strickland to gamble. players beat each other all the time obviously, if an amateur beats a old legend doesnt mean the amateur is better, it just means he won that time. the better guys are those in hall of fame, those who have more pool pro tours titles than anyone else (just to mention strickland), etc

  • @DyMannlich Think I was pissed when I wrote that. I was out of line and I apologise for that. I actually met Strickland once. TBH I did find him a bit mardy, but no denying his talent.

  • @DyMannlich If it was a race to 8 or 11 then ronnie would have humiliated strickland!

  • @JG20Productions they played races to 11 and strickland just walked over ronnie.

  • 19 year old and represented the whole continent, amazing

  • You all are arguing over who is better... pool or snooker players? Who has won more us open championships... pool or snooker players? I know there are snooker players competing in every one.

  • @TheStrumnken how many pool players have won a Snooker World Championship

  • @ComplyOrDie1 How many pool players try to?

  • @TheStrumnken Well my point is none of them are better. Pool players are better at pool, Snooker players are better at Snooker. You can't say becuase Snooker players enter pool tournaments they arent as good.

  • @ComplyOrDie1 First of all... I really don't care who is better. I don't think you can really compare... they are totally different games needing slightly different skill sets. I adore all cue sports. O'Sullivan is a fantastic marksman, as is Davis, Strickland, Immonen, Morris... all of them. Pool, snooker, 3 cushion... I don't think you can really argue intelligently over which type of player is better. We can argue over specific players... like who's better O'Sullivan or Immonen?

  • @TheStrumnken Very different games! No pool player will shine in snooker and viceversa, The only exception may be Alex Pagulayan. No need to compare the 2 games.

  • @2tame4fame It's Higgins, Alex Higgins.

  • @TheStrumnken not many pool players win snooker tournaments . watch Ronnie's 5 minute 147 and tell me he's not the finest cuesmith in either code ever to play either game.

  • @barmouthtown either game? ronnie sucked in 9 ball, and sucked ass even sadder in 8 ball (losing to average 8 ball players). he was good in snooker. period

  • @DouzoOcc

Ronnie was good in snooker? Finest snooker player imaginable. Snooker players don't do well on those little toy tables. But a pool player does even

worse on a snooker table. It would be comical to see strickland play snooker.

  • @silfossy strickland can play anything. he's an insane shot maker, he controls the cb as well as anybody in the planet. he wouldn't be easy to beat in any game. the only reason he doesnt play snooker is bc theres no money there (no wonder ronnie, steve, tony and many others try their hands on 9-ball). also because snooker is BORING. who the fuck turns on the tv to watch snooker. strickland prefers to sleep on a bed instead of waiting hours on a snooker table. strickland and 9-ball kick ass.

  • @DouzoOcc Geez you talk stupid. Strickland is a pathetically poor sport. He misses a simple shot and smacks his cue down on the table and lashes out at his oponents. And the reason he doesn't play snooker is that he's not good enough. O'sullivan has 11 career 147's and over 6 million in prize money. whats strickland won? maybe 25 grand. Only the incredibly talented like Ronnie can play snooker at that level. You got a hard on for strickland.. good for you. Have a good day.

  • @silfossy who asked u about strickland attitudes? let me make it simpler for u:

1- snooker is boring, players go to 9-ball to make money

2- 25 grand? lol im not even discussing that. once strickland made 1million at once for breaking and running out more than 10 racks in a row

3- ronnie is good at snooker, im not denying that. he's just not on strickland's level concerning 9 ball. thats why Earl has more 9-ball world titles than anybody in the world.

4- strickland can play any cue sport

  • @DouzoOcc i dont know which of your 4 points is more risible - but if pushed i would go with 1 - snooker players go to 9 ball to make money? baffling

  • @silfossy Sounds like you got a hard on for Ronnie. I guess your into east end barrow boys. For the record Earl's won a lot more than 25 grand and I imagine the main reason that he doesn't play snooker is because it's shite.

  • @DouzoOcc I have played both. 1st thing is both are great games. 2nd. Snooker is far harder to play. 3rd. Snooker has far more prize money, so dont talk about what you dont know about on that. 4th. Yea Strickland would probably play an ok snooker game but I can tell you now a good club player would beat him hands down. 5th. Snooker is a far more technical cue game then pool by miles. 6th. As a Yank I am sad to see Strickland act like a dick. Your a pro, and American, act like it.

  • @silfossy Of all these comments this one makes by far the most sense, glad someone else here knows what there talking about, nice one mate. Strickland obviously has an advantage in 9 ball because he's a 9 ball player. The point is Snooker players can play 9 balls, 9 ball players can't play snooker. I would LOVE to watch any 9 ball player enter the world championships or the masters, it would be hilarious to watch.

  • @mitchdaytonam3 Why thank you sir I appreciate that. Have a good day bud.

  • to be fair ronnie was only 19, plus who the fuck gives a shit about pool lol, its a game reserved for when you've had 10 pints of lager and want a laugh.

  • Strickland is nothing compared to O'Sullivan

  • 1478ball you are full of shit you lying fuck, anyone who has made a maximum in a real snooker table should knows that snooker is far harder than pool, since you have to spend a few years to get to that level.

  • @rvpnumb im not lying since ive had a 147 and you have not you should not question my knowldge and call me a lier. carm down boy!!! if i find snooker easier than english 8ball dont get so work up about it, im a pro pool player but find snooker an easier game, if your a good potter on a snooker table, then its easy, if ur shit like urself and cant pot a ball, u will find it very hard..

  • @1478ball You clearly have issues, bet you can´t even play pool decently get a life and stop stalking this video or replying me over and over again like a filthy troll.

  • @rvpnumb im just one of them pro's who cant play. u look up to people like me so behave!!

  • @rvpnumb anyway mate i just gave you my opinion, no need to act like a fool and call me a lier on my own opinion as that dont make sence. if you have played both at the top level you might understand

  • Snooker is for men. Pool for boys.

  • Strickland's a proper dick head, could he make a 30 break at snooker?

  • @holmeslaw666 Just because he's a dick doesn't exclude him from being a great pool player. Come on Strickland couldn't make a thirty break in snooker? that's an absurd statement.

  • @erickuuttilajr is obviously a pool player

  • /watch?v=e3Vu0iCRuYw

  • Just had enough arguing with this cunt, I won´t defend snooker fans on a worthless video anymore, just had to prove that not all fans are blind reatards that can´t distinguish these are two different sports and can´t be compared, but I have failed I had to face this obssesed troll in a matter of minutes.

  • 2010 USA Snooker Final Highlights (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA) HD search it

  • pff proved your ignorant

  • @rvpnumb lol how do you figure you proved that? Just re-read the first two sentences of my comment and do yourself a favor by being quiet.

  • @TaSk1o4 Didn´t even reply it, someones obssesed with this video ! And no I don´t need some yank to tell me Snooker is the ultimate game, simply because it is, but it seems you can´t understand it do us a favour and play in a full sized table for a few months and then question the quality of snooker players.

  • @rvpnumb I didn't question the quality of snooker players. Their level of skill is obvious to anyone who appreciates cue sports. I questioned the quality of commentors such as yourself, who I described pretty thoroughly in my original comment. I just realized that I'm arguing with an 18 year old child though, so I'm over it. You may have the last word if you'd like. You don't have to hide it this time.

  • @TaSk1o4 You think I´m 18 by visiting my youtube channel and you try to argue with me relying on that, wonderfull, I can asure I´m far older than that, besides I think a 18 year old could still know alot more than you about cue sports.

  • @TaSk1o4 Have you ever played snooker?

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 Yes I've played. Not as much as I would like due to it's limited availability where I live though. What does that have to do with my comment anyway?

  • @TaSk1o4 It has nothing to do it. I agree with your comment in some ways. People passionate about snooker do tend to brag about it, and say it's the best cue sport, because of the skill and precision involved in it. I agree with the "spoilt little children" about the skill and precision involved in snooker is far superior to pool. So I'm split between yours and the bragger's comments. But next time, can you keep your opinion to yourself, because you'll just make people upset or angry.

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 ive had 13 147s in match and about 500 century's. i play english 8ball also. and the skill in pool is alot harder than snooker, snooker if you can knock in a good ball, the table has more more for error. the snooker balls/colours are normally in the same spot, where as pool you have to work around the balls with more precision, people make out pool is so simple and snooker is so hard...if anything pool is harder :) goodday

  • @1478ball I was just making a point that snooker has a much smaller margin for error. The pockets may be bigger compared to ball size, but the table is almost twice the size of a pool table, therefore making it harder to pocket balls. And even though I'm 13, I can have a perfect pool game and clear the table in under two minutes, and in snooker, I can only clear the table in about 15-20 minutes, and I've been playing both sports for about the same amount of time. Good day.

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 mate it may be a smaller margin for the pocket since the table is bigger, but if ur a top potter anyway then the game is easier as there is a bigger margin for error for positioning. balls are always on the same spots in snooker, and once ur flowwing its easy to work round the balls, where as 8ball is a smaller margin and have to avoid balls make cannons possibaly doubles and need great positioning with less room for error.

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 young man it takes you longer to clear a snooker table as it takes 36pots to clear a snooker table and the table is longer to walk around. a pool table is only 8 shots max!! do the math!

  • @1478ball Basically, your comment says that 8 ball is easier... rvpnumb, I agree with you, 1478ball, you need to stop trying to justify yourself, and live with the fact that you are probably a liar, because I don't believe someone with your so called "ability" could possibly find pool harder than snooker. If you can get 13 147s and 500 centuries, then pool must be a breeze, and, yes, the balls are placed differently for each rack for pool, but so are the reds in snooker. Think about it.

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 STOP TELLING MY MY OWN OPINION IS WRONG!!! THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE. IVE BEEN A PRO IN BOTH SO YOU CANT CORRECT ME IN ANYWAY BOY!! ALSO I KNOW MANY TOP PLAYERS WHO AGREE, IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME I DONT CARE. I FIND SNOOKER EASIER SO SHOOT ME!! IF YOU KNEW THE DETAIL THAT I CANT BE BOTHERED TO EXPLAIN...BUT UR AN AVERAGE JOE WHO CANT REALLY PLAY EITHER, SO GO AWAY.. SHOW SOME RESPECT U IDIOT!!

  • @1478ball Mature for a 25-year-old. Having complete stress over a comment by some one 12 years younger than you. Shameful really, isn't it? Your right, I can't say your opinion is right, but you can't exactly talk, you said that if I was a top potter, then I'd find snooker easier, but I don't, like you find pool harder. I was just questioning your approach to snooker, saying it's easier and all, then you got all worked up about it and took the comment too seriously and now you're angry.

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 you still telling me how i think and how i feel when your wrong again my friend!!! what makes you think i got stressed when typing my message? what makes you think im worked up? what makes you think i took the comment seriously..i was just correcting you, your the one telling me im wrong when im not. are you feeling ok? ooo wait another comment, im a lyer about my ability also unlike you? you have only said your a top potter..i bet you are!!

  • @1478ball 3 words: Go Fuck Yourself

  • @JoshuaBLilley98 and no im not ashamed about putting my point across to anyone on here who wants to talk complete shit. maybe if you keep talking complete shit you might even get something right soon? keep trying!!

  • @1478ball By the way, I tell the truth about my ability, because it's a realistic ability, unlike yours.

  • Jesus Christ, if all you European snooker fans really think that snooker is the ultimate game then why not represent it with a little fucking class, instead of coming off like a bunch of whiny, bitter little babies? You all sound like a bunch of arrogant, spoiled little children. Do you need someone to rub you back and tell you snooker is the best? Will that make you feel better?

  • @TaSk1o4 You don´t know shit, you live in the US you don´t know anything about the rest of the world !

  • @rvpnumb lol I don't really know how what you said applies to what I said, but thank you for helping to prove my point.

  • Pool is a game invented by Americans due to them not inventing snooker and realising they wouldn't be able to produce players capable of competing with the Europeans, Asians and Australasians. And yes, your friends over the border have also produced plenty of world class players, USA - so well done to Canada!

  • The American would be reduced to picking the balls out of the pockets if he was ever idiotic enough to try competing with O'Sullivan at a proper cue sports game... such as Snooker, for example.

  • HA THATS LIKE SAYIN LION VS RABBIT, FAT YANK FUCKS AINT GOTTA CLUE ABOUT REAL CUE SPORTS...

  • its a race to 3 not best of 3...retards

  • Comment removed

  • They are showing fucking replay of a break and they are not even showing the fucking table, they are showing him :O :O :O instead of that bank shot that he did... retards

  • watch?v=e3Vu0iCRuYw

snooker in the USA.... hahahahhaha - LMFAO

  • Ronnie looks like Mr.Bean....

  • Earl "The Colonel" Sanders

  • Its a shame they have to dress up like freakin clowns to play a dignified match like this.

  • @johnnyfin1 u dumbass efren did beat ronnie in a snooker game. and it's a money game. know ur shit

  • @ireallyhatenoobs That is absurd

  • at 4:46 - a snooker player would have slightly clipped the red, and sent the white down off the bottom cushion tucking up behind the 9 and the 6.

  • Respond to this video... this is what daryl said:7. Who, in your opinion, was the greatest ever to pick up a cue (snooker, pool, whatever)?

    Snooker: Ronnie O'Sullivan

    Pool: Efren Reyes

Overall: Efren because I saw him play Jimmy White and Ronnie O'Sullivan 6 years ago, at snooker best of 5 for £100 each if I remember rightly: he beat both of them with his pool cue, and he made 3 centuries!! Now that's special.

  • Ronnie broke off and stayed still but still generated a load of power.

The American guy jumped 10 feet in the air to generate the power. lol

  • ive heard enough of this rubbish? when did efren beeat ronnie? where is the video the proof? if he can there is much ore money in snooker so y dont efren go enter a tournament oh wait cos he get destroyed! jimmy white said he would play any pool player at this kids game(his words) for any money, and there was no takers.

  • @hendinho87 efern already beat jimmy white and jimmy white always lose including steve davis even steve davis said efren will do good in snooker and probably become one of the best coz his knowledge is one of a kind.daryl peach was the proof that efren beat ronnie and jimmy in amoney game snooker using only his pool cue.

  • @princekody daryle peach the proof? where is it that he said that ? was it one frame did he get a spot what? white has beat reys before doent mean he is better at pool. an so what about his pool cue ? i play pool with my snooker cue itz a choice what you like if you gave me a heavy pool cue id strugle cos never used it., this is so stupid th proof is wat your wathcing europe made up of snooker players then beat the amercians at their own game guess they praqcticed for week or so b4 hand

  • @hendinho87 americans dont dominate the sport today its "ASIANS" baby!!!

  • @princekody you re tight.. i mean right!

  • @hendinho87 7.

  • @princekody i found it! shit that is unreal, i'll hold my hands up if reyes did that then thats amazing. i mean he did make 3 centuries so dont matter who you playing they dont get to shoot, same in pool break n runs other wperson sits there. well played princekody, glad someone finally showed me where this came from

  • @hendinho87 i hate to say i TOLD u..but i still think ronnie has the edge on him especially in longer races of snooker but 4 sure efren will make him run for his money.the only thing that im trying to say is i think efren is the greatest ALL AROUND player.many already consider him as the best player who ever hold a cue 4 me me hes a living legend.too bad hes getting old and lost hes touch a little bit coz of poor eyesight and back pains.

  • @princekody yes you're right and efren play snooker against o'sullivan and it's a money game and ofcourse efren won.

  • Respond to this video... try this Interview with Daryl 'Dazzler' Peach by Dave Quinlan if u try this u will see interviews daryl peach click it and then scroll down.and u will see the proof,i dnt think daryl will lie coz he has nothing to gain.

  • @johnnyfin1 im sorry but efren already owned ur boy in a money game of snooker that includes jimmy white and the worst part is efren is using his pool cue when he beat this guys..mickey mouse my ass!!!comparing efren to ronnie is like comparing jordan to d wade..efren is the best all around player hands down.

  • @princekody ye im sorry pal your mistaken. I was an average snooker player at best when i lived in scotland, i moved to usa in 08 i started playing pool as no snooker and i have went to vegas last tow years play in most of the pro am's if i can , jus so much easier, especially 8 ball on the american tables is mickey mouse game. look right now who is top in pool? chris melling won last two tournaments? what was he ? a former snooker players who couldn't break into the top 100 so switched to pool

  • @hendinho87 chris melling r u really serious???lol!!what exacly r u watching european pool chris melling is afish compared to other pro pool players that guy will never make it to the top if hes against top pool players..take chris to the philippines lets see if he can beat an average pool player thr..and the topic wr talking about is efren reyes compared to top snooker players what iam saying is efren is the best all around player in the planet and considered by many as the greatest plyr ever.

  • gO Go GO RONNIE!

  • i thought i was going to see big baby earl cry, stomp his feet and throw another tantrum. i feel so cheated

  • O'Sullivan is a thousand times better than "Earl"

  • Earl Dickland

  • Both masters of a cue. Earl obviously has the advantage here. But put him on a snooker table and he'd be lost. He'd put a few points on the board i imagine, but Ronnie would undoubtedly tan him in the grand scheme of things.

  • Go Ronnie! I cant stand Earl

  • THATS LIKE A MATCH UP BETWEEN A LION AND A HAMSTER, ONE WOULD EAT THE OTHER FOR BREAKFAST....

  • Team Europe should also play team Philippines like USA did a decade ago. If you do beat Efren Reyes and his team probably then could you say that any great snooker player can beat a great pool player. Then again, it is all just crap talk by snooker fanatics. 8 ball and 9 ball are just a few games in pool where luck is a factor. If you want to beat a great pool player, play him in One Pocket, until today Efren still dominates.

  • Ronnie breaks with his snooker cue..don't know about normal play.

  • with what cue does ronnie play

  • @TheSaRiG77 john parris cue

  • with what cue does ronnie play?

  • the chinese announcer is tryin 2 explain wat is "push out" wtf...

  • American 9 ball players are dicks. Why cant they learn a cue action? Ronnie isn't even using his own cue.

  • cte cte center 2 edge try it look at the edge of cue thats all im going to give

  • 4.59. ha.

  • Earl the P ... is definately the creepiest creep to ever creep... on or off a pool/billiard/snooker table. yeuuuck!!

  • I don't mean to be offensive but I think one of the greatest snooker players ever will always beat a great pool player.

  • of course he has mastered the pockets of pool since he runs out more balls and snooker pockets are a lot smaller than pool so its easy for him to pocket because of big holes in pool pockets man

  • @1968TGPsaint tol maliit din ang bola ng snooker eh kya gnun din..Capital S

  • that sullivan guy shoots so fast

  • never get into a safety battle with a snooker player.

  • @kamikazeVX

poolplayers are much more dangerous when it comes to safetyplay

we master the kicksafe + we are used to hitting a rail after contact

on a pooltable, the poolplayer will win a safetybattle most of the time, on a snookertable a snookerplayer will win most of the time....and percentagewise more then the poolplayer on a pooltable.

    nevertheless...poolplayers rule:P:D!!!!

  • @kamikazeVX A friend of mine (a snooker player) was playing Earl Strickland in a 9 ball

tournament, and 3 fouled Earl. Earl was so pissed, he threw his cue and was disqualified!

  • @goatman069 Lol.that is almost tame for earl.he breaks his cue regularly too.such as during Mosconi Cup

  • i see earl didnt give ronnie any abuse there...cos he knows ronnie would have banged him out!! hahaha

  • Nutcase Vs Nutcase lol

  • Earl might be a douchenozzle but when he is on, he is ON.

  • jeez, 14 years ago!

  • Ronnie have beaten them in their own game. Marvelous!

  • Comment removed

  • it it difficult to guess a persons mood & demeanor through the written word only. i assure you, i was quite relaxed when writing back to you. i wasn't offended nor wasi trying to offend. i had zero anger with those last two posts, really. you acyually seem like one of the few snooker players\fans that understands the pointlessness of comparing cue sports. i wish there were more like you. anyway, it's all good, no harm done. now, off to the pool hall!

  • i love watching this for the difference in cue actions and stances that pool v snooker players adopt

  • i love watching this for the difference in cue andctions and stances that pool v snooker players adopt

  • pool player can do many trick better then snooker player...this is just my opinion..both player has own skill. i'm play snooker and pool .

  • potting balls is harder in snooker, but defense and position play is harder in pool. OPINION.

  • i didnt expect people comparing snooker and pool. how unexpected.

  • it means much more to a pool player winning their own game against a snooker player than the other way round, i find it impossible to believe that a snooker player can take this game seriously, in short its a joke and theoretically you could win every game in 1 shot - its funny !

  • @0114owl1867 down with all u snooker snobs.

  • @jdbankshot yes i know what you mean everyone to their own game, i'm surprised theres not many snooker tables where you live cos kirk stevens and cliff thorburn were absolute world class snooker players from canada and i bet they started off playing pool !

  • @0114owl1867 cool, nice to know there are still some level-headed folks out there. no immature b.s. , how refreshing.... from what i've read & heard, cliff started with pool, but i'm sure snooker tables are more plentiful in the other provinces(the more english-speaking ones). yuk, big political can of worms there. long story short, canada & quebec are............. different. i'm a bi-lingual, without accent, english quebecer. minority. here, it's 70% 8-ball on 7 by 3.5 ft tables. yawn.

  • @jdbankshot k pal i play 12ft x 6 ft snooker have done since 1985, i'm 41 now highest break 118 when i was 38 its a tough game sure yours is aswell peace - not everyones the same - relax !

  • @0114owl1867 i've replied, but messed up in sending it to you, so this is just notification. cheers !

  • @0114owl1867 anyway, i've seen 3 snooker tables with my own eyes in 3 different pool halls in montreal & area. even if they were everywhere, i would still prefer 9ball for sssooooo many reasons, & i wouldn't go on & on about why i find it better. i love all cueists & cue sports, but damn, snooker snobs test my ability to remain calm. i own a t-shirt that says, "shut up & shoot !" ....... it's like yours is 8.7 inches & mine is 8.3...... she's still gonna find it big.

  • There is no doubt that pocketing balls on a snooker table is harder than on a pool table. Saying that pool players could never play as well at snooker is rediculous. It would surely take some time to adapt however, and I feel the transistion would take a little longer going from pool to snooker than the other way around. The great Willie Mosconi played a snooker champion back in his heyday and he was able to take some games off of the snooker champion. In straight pool Mosconi dominated.

  • Even though this is from 1996 you still want Earl Strickland to lose :-) He is such a bad loser!

  • why does everyone compare snooker to nine ball what about 8-ball?

  • @Fattyzilla Snooker players generally do VERY well at both 9-ball and 8-ball. They already have the right skills from playing snooker, not to mention potting balls is a lot harder on a 6x12 snooker table. In pool terms, it's something like going from a 9ft with 4in pockets to a bar box with buckets.

  • @bird80 ya, so...?? good pool is good pool. what's next, rugby is "superior" to the nfl because they wear less padding? comparisons are irrelevant. i play 8, 9, 10-ball & a little straight pool. i'm not attracted to snooker because of the ball point value system, the dress code & the all around snobbery, not bcuz of table & pocket size. also, there are barely any snooker tables here in montreal. i'm no fool, if i played 9-ball on a snooker table, i'd be quickly humbled, but, SO WHAT? let's shoot

  • @jdbankshot I never said anything was "superior" to anything. I'M A POOL PLAYER! (although I also play snooker regularly) And I can relate to there not being many snooker tables around where u live, there arent many where I live either. I was only stating facts... "snooker players generally do very well at both 8 n 9-ball" ...n u attack me? You're an idiot. There are pool games snooker players transition HORRIBLY to, like 1-pocket and banks. So obviously I wasn't taking sides.

  • @bird80 attacking is a little too harsh. exasperation with the amount of people that rank snooker over 9 or 10-ball, yeah, that's more accurate. i accept your frustration, but i assure you, i'm no idiot. neither are you. i wasn't attacking YOU, i don't know you. i was attacking the way you expressed your point of view. o'sulli & davis have horrible 9-ball stats, but i didn't bring that up. maybe i was a tad too harsh, but i can't watch any match without reading about how much better snooker is.

  • @jdbankshot I understand and I apologize for the insult. I was out of line. I just get a little excited sometimes. And I certainly sympathize with you about all the anti pool propaganda you see in the comments. I play everything from billiards to snooker to all kinds of pool games and it irks me to read some of the comments. Mostly because I know a lot of the people posting that garbage sit on their high horse and don't know what the hell they are talking about. (just don't tell them that) ;P

  • @bird80 cool, nice to see that level-headed folks can still exchange views in a diplomatic fashion. to tell you the truth, i couldn't have put it better myself. great post & great reply, you hit the nail on the head(or sunk the ball in the throat ; ) ) getting a little too excited is one of the many flaws i'm working on, so no big deal, i get it. my mate, i do believe we're on the same page. as i've written in other posts, why compare formula 1 to nascar just because they're motor sports? : )

  • is he using a snooker cue??/ damn thats nice.. i mean sullivan

  • That Strickland bloke is a gobby cock. Lets see him play snooker, that will shut him up in 5 seconds flat.

  • O'Sullivan is the greatest cue sportist of all time. Pool or Snooker. He is the best with a cue.

  • @DLPBurke If that were true, he would be WINNING pool tournaments. Better, perhaps, is to say he is one of the best snooker players ever.

  • @bird80 It takes a little more practice to go from Snooker to Pool, but going from Pool to Snooker is impossible without years of practice. FACT.

  • @DLPBurke I began playing snooker first and switched to pool. I can tell you from first-hand experience it's harder than most snooker players think. Yes the table looks like a toy with garbage pales around it, but I didn't start winning pool tournaments until a couple of years after I switched. I DO agree with you about going from pool to snooker though. Especially since it's so hard to find a regulation snooker table here in the U.S. VERY few rooms here have them.

  • @bird80 You are not a professional snooker player, the comparison is moot.

  • @bird80 I was not comparing my game to a professional snooker player. Apparently you were. At any rate, your original statement is nonsense. Ronnie is one of the greatest snooker players ever, agreed. But he's getting DRILLED on the pro pool circut. Bottom line is, if he really were the "greatest cue sportist of all time. Pool or snooker." He would be a contender. Unfortunately, he has yet to show any of his snooker brilliance on the pro pool tour.

  • yeah mark selby won the world 8 ball championship in 2004 i believe

  • fuck this chinese commentator ! stfu

  • i love it when us brits beat the americans at their won game and they have never won the world champs in snooker lol

  • I don't get the push out at 3:55...He's setting the next shot up for Strickland?
