As a child in the eighties -- before everyone and their mother jumped on the Jackie Chan is Awesome train -- watching his films on VHS was like stepping into the world of Hong Kong.

Back then, he was the master at pulling off the reckless, yet super-vulnerable nut-job cop. The characters he played almost always hurt.

It made you think, with just the right amount of skill and training, you could be the good guy -- you could conquer evil.

this is super cheesy 80s hk, but it is the greatest action movie theme ever. its what i would play before jumping off a building lol

To me it's less cheesy than the CGI assisted stuff involving non-stuntment that comes out today. Far less when you factor in Jackie, Biao and Sammo etc., knew how to fall.
