@johnnnyboyz100 just spotted your comment there about connery sitting beside roger moore.take another close look..its nick nolte im afraid..! he doesnt even look like moore!! sorry :-(
how many actors do you know today that can put a mad expression on their face and make you laugh.walter was a man that could do a movie with expressions and still make us laugh.
Walter Mathau is a hero that will never be born again. He was a perfect actor and always knew how to play his roles and characters. Todays next generation actors such as miley cyrus, selena gomez, miranda cosgrove etc are talentless. Im sure he is turning in his grave when he hears what happened to the film industry in the last 10 years that he is gone. A big part of the film industry died with him in the year 2000. The legends are dying and TV turns into stupidity crab.
@hussnfussel I loved him too and in my opinion, he was one of the last actors that actually knew their job. Today its all about getting lucky. I mean you can't even work to become an actor. When you get lucky, you become an actor. For example, that idiot justin bieber. He has 0 talent, he has no singing voice, its all lipsinging and he got his career thanks to youtube. There are people out there that have great talent but never get the chance to shine. Its sad.
I feel Jack Lemmon is still a litte underestimated, maybe because he did mostly comedies, but I think he has been one of the finest actor of american movies history, without exageration. He really was.
@mysticgirl1000 Have you ever really watched the man in a movie?! He was anything BUT one dimensional. You have no idea what you're talking about...... I'd be curious to know just what kind of an actor would impress you.....
@mysticgirl1000 I guess character traits like intelligence, and class do not appeal to you. What a sad sap you are, ignorantly bashing a legend like Jack Lemmon!
Respond to this video... I notice something years ago, if you ever watch the original bad news bears, when he is in the car with the little girl, he mentions a fish named, catfish hunter, years later in the movies, grumpy old men, the same fish is mentioned.
Come on with those dumb comparisons. They were both great. So were many of the great old stars. We dont have people like them anymore which is a shame!
@BlackenedForLife yes we do, in years to come we'll be saying how amazing Tom Hanks was and how they won't make anymore like it. Superstars come and go in time.
@nrjelley Yeah. It's like this: There was Chaplin, Keaton, Bow, Valentino, and all the other silent film stars; then people like Robinson, March, Laughton, Cagney, Bogart, Tracy, Gable, Grant, and Fonda entered the age of talkies, as well as Olivier, Wayne, Stewart, Guinness, Welles, Peck, Mitchum, Holden, Brynner, Heston, etc. As things became a little more modern, there came Brando, Newman, Poitier, O'Toole, Duvall, Redford, Hoffman, and...sorry, I'm gonna have to continue this comment! XP
@YourFaceWillDie468 Hackman, Pacino, De Niro, Ford...and soon enough people like Walken, Kingsley, Douglas, Neeson, Rush, Hurt, Day-Lewis, Oldman, and Depp stepped in, and then there came Carrey, Ferrell, Carrell, Gervais, Clooney, Cruise, Pitt, etc. Still others followed, i.e. Cera, Baruchel, Gordon-Levitt, Wood, Gyllenhaal, Franco, DiCaprio, and Damon. Now we're seeing little boys and girls such as Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, etc who, the way we know it, can hardly call themselves actors.
Much love an respect too both Jack & Walter . They were before my time , but my goodness, i love their humor! this comedy duo has withstood time itself. blessed Be
This friendship is SO beautiful. PS does anyone know what the joke in the beginning is about?

That was hilarious. I'm too young to be familiar with their work but that was humor I can appreciate.

I'm surprised that Walter Matthau wasn't the host of this seeing how he and Jack Lemmon were aparently best friends.

I'll admit Lemmon couldn't have gotten as far as he did without Mathau. His style of humor isn't as popular as Mathau's sarcasm.
