  • This friendship is SO beautiful. PS does anyone know what the joke in the beginning is about?

  • That was hilarious. I'm too young to be familiar with their work but that was humor I can appreciate.

  • I'm surprised that Walter Matthau wasn't the host of this seeing how he and Jack Lemmon were aparently best friends.

  • I don't get the Carnegie Deli joke...

  • I wish there would be more "Odd" couples as they were...

  • Perhaps the best comedy team ever. You are both sorely missed.

  • these 2 were legends... NO PAIR WILL EVER BE BETTER THAN THESE 2

  • I loved Jack Lemmon soooooo much........ Still do.....

  • Why didnt Walter get his own AFI?

  • we need actors like them two.... today hollywood is bs

  • Sean Connery is sitting next to Roger Moore.... interesting.

  • @johnnnyboyz100 just spotted your comment there about connery sitting beside roger moore.take another close look..its nick nolte im afraid..! he doesnt even look like moore!! sorry :-(

  • @johnnnyboyz100

    its nick nolte

  • @johnnnyboyz100 Looks like Roger Moore, but it's actually Nick Nolte.

  • how many actors do you know today that can put a mad expression on their face and make you laugh.walter was a man that could do a movie with expressions and still make us laugh.

  • moron and putz!! ha ha

  • Thanks thanks thanks, for all the good moments.

  • What a gem of a clip, the love and respect for each other was touching.

Two orginals, missed very much. RIP Gents!

  • Walter Mathau is a hero that will never be born again. He was a perfect actor and always knew how to play his roles and characters. Todays next generation actors such as miley cyrus, selena gomez, miranda cosgrove etc are talentless. Im sure he is turning in his grave when he hears what happened to the film industry in the last 10 years that he is gone. A big part of the film industry died with him in the year 2000. The legends are dying and TV turns into stupidity crab.

  • @LSBonnPower You are so right. i loved that guy. If the world went another 150 millions years there will never be born another like Walter Mathau.

  • @hussnfussel I loved him too and in my opinion, he was one of the last actors that actually knew their job. Today its all about getting lucky. I mean you can't even work to become an actor. When you get lucky, you become an actor. For example, that idiot justin bieber. He has 0 talent, he has no singing voice, its all lipsinging and he got his career thanks to youtube. There are people out there that have great talent but never get the chance to shine. Its sad.

  • I love that comment, "You dont fool me, you two are the Odd Couple"

  • Adam Sandler and Kevin James are remaking "The Odd Couple". It'll be great. Especially in 3D.

  • @Spartacus217 They are not the Jack Lemon and Walter Mathau of our times! Its going to suck..

  • I feel Jack Lemmon is still a litte underestimated, maybe because he did mostly comedies, but I think he has been one of the finest actor of american movies history, without exageration. He really was.

  • @mysticgirl1000 Have you ever really watched the man in a movie?! He was anything BUT one dimensional. You have no idea what you're talking about...... I'd be curious to know just what kind of an actor would impress you.....

  • jack lemmon rules!

  • @mysticgirl1000 I guess character traits like intelligence, and class do not appeal to you. What a sad sap you are, ignorantly bashing a legend like Jack Lemmon!

  • yeah two legends, died within one year of each other Matthau 2000 and Lemmon 2001 and both are sorely missed.

  • I'll admit Lemmon couldn't have gotten as far as he did without Mathau. His style of humor isn't as popular as Mathau's sarcasm.

  • two giants in the world of film..the best by far..

  • Respond to this video... I notice something years ago, if you ever watch the original bad news bears, when he is in the car with the little girl, he mentions a fish named, catfish hunter, years later in the movies, grumpy old men, the same fish is mentioned.

  • Aww wonderful speech truly missed

  • The respect that Matthau had for Lemmon can be seen a mile off in this clip.

R.I.P. to both of these giants.

  • Walt Mathau is funny and mesugha as hell!

  • Greatest human beings of the world!

    I love them!

  • They really were best of friends.

  • they were like.. brothers.. best team ever!

  • The best team.

  • the genuine article

  • it was a moving speech. one of the best screen duo ever !

  • I went to visit both their graves the other day, I'm glad they are buried close to eachother. (its at a cemetery called Hollywood Forever in LA)

  • You can certainly see they were best friends. Thank you for sharing!!

  • "..you guys don´t fool me - you´re the Odd Couple."

    I miss Walter Matthau.

  • niceee

  • Is somebody so kind to transcribe for me the joke about the old indian ? I couldn't catch it, my english is poor

  • Some actors are good in comedies, other are better in dramatic roles. Lemmon was one of the few who was excelled in both.

  • The best couple in movies, hails! from spain to both awesome actors now in the sky with Wilder.

  • Lemmon,Matthau and Wilder are in the sky?! where in the sky im confused

  • yunno his surname sounds like lemon

  • Jack Lemmon was much better than Gregory Peck was

  • Come on with those dumb comparisons. They were both great. So were many of the great old stars. We dont have people like them anymore which is a shame!

  • fifteen years of cultural decline in america

audieces that will clap at anyting witless humour shouty news programs

the couTry of orson welles, groucho marx and jack lemmon is no longer

  • @BlackenedForLife and now Leslie Nelson is gone

  • @BlackenedForLife yes we do, in years to come we'll be saying how amazing Tom Hanks was and how they won't make anymore like it. Superstars come and go in time.

  • @nrjelley Some of us.. won't..

  • @nrjelley Yeah. It's like this: There was Chaplin, Keaton, Bow, Valentino, and all the other silent film stars; then people like Robinson, March, Laughton, Cagney, Bogart, Tracy, Gable, Grant, and Fonda entered the age of talkies, as well as Olivier, Wayne, Stewart, Guinness, Welles, Peck, Mitchum, Holden, Brynner, Heston, etc. As things became a little more modern, there came Brando, Newman, Poitier, O'Toole, Duvall, Redford, Hoffman, and...sorry, I'm gonna have to continue this comment! XP

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Hackman, Pacino, De Niro, Ford...and soon enough people like Walken, Kingsley, Douglas, Neeson, Rush, Hurt, Day-Lewis, Oldman, and Depp stepped in, and then there came Carrey, Ferrell, Carrell, Gervais, Clooney, Cruise, Pitt, etc. Still others followed, i.e. Cera, Baruchel, Gordon-Levitt, Wood, Gyllenhaal, Franco, DiCaprio, and Damon. Now we're seeing little boys and girls such as Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, etc who, the way we know it, can hardly call themselves actors.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 You missed Andy Garcia! =)

  • @nrjelley Him too, yes...

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 CERA? REALLY? BARUCHEL? REALLY?

  • @thadsexson I never said they were good actors.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 That awkward moment when you realize "Carrey" and "Ferrell" make "Carrell." o_O

  • Simply the best...;O)

  • They`re both missed, bud gladly remembered. God bless..

  • RIP to both of them, there buried pretty close to eachother here in LA, which is nice =)

  • Much love an respect too both Jack & Walter . They were before my time , but my goodness, i love their humor! this comedy duo has withstood time itself. blessed Be

  • I LOVE these guys!! They are truly comedic geniuses! Miss them terribly...

  • He is such a cool cat.

  • Matthau was a genius!

  • Moving speech by Matthau, Lemmon looks truly touched - they are both deeply missed.

  • Comedy geniuses. I just saw The Odd Couple. Great, great movie.

  • LOL "He must have seen the movie!"

  • "Thats what I like about Lemmon - he's funny."

    :D

  • Wheres Billy?

  • These two guys are brilliant. When they make movies together magic happens. The odd couple is fantastic.

  • Ahhh I really miss them .......... Giants.

  • gIANTS IN A WORLD OF DWARVES THOSE TWO ARE INREPLECABLE.

  • lol! Comedic legends!
