CatDogFruit, I'll quote Albert King for you, "Everybody understands the blues. Everybody from one day to another have the blues..." It's open to everyone. Australia has some great blues musicians, many of which sing with Aussy accents. Not an impersonation, this guy didn't get so good without caring about the music.
Send a bunch of white Americans playing didgeridoos and click sticks ( or Waltzing Matilda with Australian accents ) and they might see what you are getting at.
