I watched your video on Metroidvanias so I thought about what you said in the end...are there any 3D metroidvanias?

Well I think so but I would really like it if you gave me your opinion on this...wouldn't Dark Souls qualify as a 3D Metroidvania? I mean yeah it is an RPG but it has all the components of the genre. I think it is but that's why I'm asking for your opinion. If you haven't played it yet then please don't judge on videos you find online. Let me know what you think. Cheers

Do you remember interviews with Michel Ancel? He stated that RO will have a simple plot that will actually be deep and interesting if you'll try to analyse it. I don't remember anything like that from the game!

The other important element that was absent was a proper final boss. An epic battle with fantastic music. And again - you can find the scrapped final boss theme here on youtube but it's nowhere to be found in RO. The actual final boss is really disappointing.

True, Rayman Origins was really fun but... it was lacking something. Truth is they cut off a lot from game's story 'n stuff. You can even see the story integral elements here and there just lying around with no purpose whatsoever. Which is sad, really, one of the reasons why I love R3 so much is the story and I trurly belive adding some depth and and actual reason to push you forward wouldn't hurt the game.

@ProkoLokor Yeah, as Rayman 2 being the first and favorite Rayman game I can see where you are coming from. But Rayman Origins was designed to be similar to the first one. (Yet very different, you can't even run until the last world.) I hope the next Rayman game will be more story-based like the sequels. (Assuming the will be a next one.)

Unlike last year, I wholeheartedly agree with this year's pick. The game is a gem and even the most sarcastic will have something to enjoy. It's colorful, fast and simply sublime.

I thought Sonic Generations was going to be eliminated at the Length round cos of how short it is since it's one of the shortest games I've ever played, I think the difficulty was worth it trying to get all the unlockable items and it took me about a month to complete it 100%

FE: A companie makes a shity game and some one reviews it to warn other people and he might use a image or two to show the game well then the companie can sue him for copy right infringement and he could be sent to jail for up to 5 years.

I know they are not manditory, but you forgot about the special levels in super mario 3d land, plus the star coins. Super Mario 3D land was designed to be like the original super mario bros, I was disapointed with its length though besides the special stages, thats why I prefer pushmo.

The awsomeness of Rayman origins is unlimited.

My sister was a pretty picky gamer. If it wasn't Pokemon, touhou or No more heroes she wasn't really interrested in playing with me. After a week in Sweden with a friend playing Rayman origins she's become very much open to video games. After that I got her into Alice maddness returns, she finally accepts Sonic, she's HOOKED on Gex and I even get some fun with her in Dead rising 2 off the record. And of course we play the hell out of Rayman origins.

FYI yaeh i have the same problem 2 some of my "friends" cridisized jak and daxter so i bot them the games one at a time and when they got 2 jak 2 it took them almost a year to beat it and they said it was easy and i knew that was a buntch of crap. but once i beat it the first time it gets easier but it still is hard!!!

Sorry to disappoit you Gex but there's still one whiner who didn't shut up and don't agree that this is a good Sonic game. Yahtzee hates this game and Modern Sonic and tries to be cool. You know the guy from Zero Punctuation. And yeah, I know that it is his thing to completly trash every game but Generations review was fulll of BS and not justified criticism. Hell, one third of it he rants about Sonic 06!

@ProkoLokor Dude I know, right? Such a terrible review, and also yes, the game has a level from Sonic 06, it's supposed to capture all the most memorable stages and the Crisis City stages I found really fun (especially Classic's after you use the electric shield).

Sonic 06 sucked, but having a level from it doesn't detract from Generations' quality in any way at all!

@TheAstuteConman I would be fine with that review if it was at least funny but the only joke that made me smile was the Sega 32x one. It's like that guy could not come up with any bad points and decided to just whine about 06 and Sonic's friends, which actually have some really fun missionn acts in this game and the also give you valuable clues about red rings.

Oh, and Modern Sonic is a reatard. Ha, ha, very funny.

If you think Yahtzee is a whiner, you don't know his style very well. I agree he was a bit harsh, but no whiner "trying to be cool". Considering how he ripped into Unleashed, he could've done a lot worse. I don't know him personally, but from what I've read/watched by him, he's quite knowledgable of gaming and shows great concern for the direction of the industry. Opinions, yo!

Yahtzee also doesn't trash every game out there. Check the praise he gave Rayman Origins (among others).

To be honest I never had any bigger problems with Crysis City. I had more problems with Sprinkler Challenge Acts. They are the new drifting cahllenge from Unleashed. I f*cking hated those drift missions! Though the Sprinkler is not AS bad.
