Jimi Hendrix is hands down the most original guitarist that ever graced the earth with his presents. To me "most original" = most talented = greatest ever = Legend = his music is forever.

When it comes to PJ covering Watchtower, I actually assume the opposite! PJ could produce a rawer, more alive (pun not intended) version than DMB could -- I feel DMB to be a bit too polished for _my_ personal taste.
I like DMB's version because it builds up. It's different, and intense. I love PJ as well but they kind of make it into just another rock song, albeit a bitchin rock song.

Kalohsback, with respect, Jimi's is great; Clapton and Lenny Kravitz do a fantastic version, Phish does a goody and Neil Young's is very good if a bit long.
Bob Dylan's original version is very good too.
This recording is unfair to Pearl Jam, who are a damn good band.

I am not all knowing when it comes to pearl jam, i dont hate them.. i do like this cover though, i love the screaming, mostly cause of the dave matthews version theres screaming..
but they did a fairly good job on this, i think they could do better on this song, they have all the damn skill to make it bad ass.!

Black Sabbath had their moment sure, i dont mind them as a band but wat i have a problem is how u can completely disclass Pearl Jam, and fuck off they dont have anyone they have Mike McCready whos solos in live shows absolutly shit on Zakk Wylde, and they have one of the best drummers in teh world too. This version was ok...nothing compared to Dave Matthews Band though or Hendrix or Dylan. You don't have to be a rock god to have an opinion about the way musicians sound, alot of know-it-alls on youtube who get so defensive when their favourite bands are criticised. Personally i'd hate it if EVERYONE loved the music i listened to. Spend less time crying about youtube posts, and more time listening to the music.

Why, because he's telling the truth? Don't me wrong, I love Pearl Jam, they're one of my favorite bands, but even I think that 60% of their songs are bullshit, luckily the other 40% of their songs are PHENOMENAL. Even you'd have to admit, as a PJ fan, that the fact of the matter is that PJ hasn't realised a worthwhile (studio) album since Yield.(Not counting the live albums, they were cool)
