People bickering over things in the bible they dont understand, its called biting and devouring one another. They read the scriptures and it goes right over their heads because they have not the insight to catch the nuggets of the word. The scripture says to hunger and thirst for righteousness and "YOU WILL BE FILLED."

The more you want of Jesus the more He will give of himself. It is a process of hungering after Him and he will keep giving you more and more of being filled with His spirit.

Ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you but then the next part is important you have to actually step out and start forming the new syllables on your tongue. Many people ask for the infilling and think the Holy Spirit will take over your mouth so you have no control but like all the gifts we have to step out and actively yield ourself to the Holy Spirit. Just speak the new syllables and have faith that they are coming from the Holy Spirit.

@andrewcullenmusic I dont believe this. If it is so, everybody can speak anything. I want to see manifestations of power the way it was in the bible not mere tongues without power. I doubt the authenticity of the tongues spoken by many today. Yet these same people that speak in tongues cannot heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils, prophesy and it comes to pass, etc as it happened in bible days. Moreover many of these tongue speakers are carnal.

@myspew Just ask ask for it. Get yourself to a church aswell, be in fellowhsip with other believers, get a house group you can go to, It helped me grow!
