i am looking for a song of the 70s the lyrics in it are we lke it we love it if you heard of this 70s classic let me know i dont know who made it kind of fast like a r&b or disco style let me know at phil12534@yahho.com thank you
Great tune. First time I heard this was my first day in a 10 piece soul band. I commented that I really liked the tune. A horn player turns around and say "its not like y'alls soul". I didnt know what he meant, which was probably a good thing.
@Aniger1219 - i know you said this a month ago but you can just download right here i use youtube to mp3 and just make my own copy of stuff i cannot find hope that helps .:)
I remember spending Saturday afternoons with my cassette recorder at the TV's speaker trying to record this and all the other classics DC played each week !!! Those were the days !!!
5 dislkes, I can't understand that. This is strictly for the Funk Lovers. They need to listen to some of that pop bullshit and leave the funk alone if they can't handle it. This is rare vintage funk and I appreciate it.
this song, it's, it's, I can't explain it, but it explains me, it's timeless, awsome song, if you don't like this, then you have to wash the crud out of your ears
I'm realizing GTA has played a good par in the rememberance of the good funk classics, among other styles. I like the idea of a young kid playing any video game with true funk in the ears, and generally, not the crap you're forced to serve and eat today. Not that there is not good music out there nowadays, but getting stuff like this is more and more unlikely.
@zukriuchen Exactly. As for me, my taste for ambient music was born while playing video games, mostly adventure games that I couldn't finish because I sucked so much. There are so many ways to discover music!
@funkateer77 Well, this song is been floating arround my head since you wrote your comment. It's a really great song and the bassline is extremely catchy.
Ain't shit change! Our lady Perpetual Help, the Panorama Room, Anacostia High school Washington DC. and still got so much trouble on my mind. God you all that made it this far!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@supertech20002 Oooh I'm feeling you! I went to Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, partied at the Panorama Room and lived right up the street from Anacostia High School. Yeah, a true Southeast girl. But, well, I have to say some shit has changed. I still love this song, though.
@SFFOOL76 ...i played this in a smokey backroom holding 100 funk-disciples 10ish years ago...TORE THA FACKIN ROOF OFF!!! love and thanx 4 uploading this little piece of funk perfection. ;]
This group was out when i was in high school 1972-75. We use to jam in the basement off of this all the time. Sir joe still perform in the D.C. Metro Area today.
Damm i like this jam.. it brings back so many memories..
Brings back memories to 1976 in Newburgh, NY (NBNY) I was the sax player in the band ECSTASY and we used to cover this jam. Shout out to Rocky Graham-Bass, Dennis-Guitar, Jessie Ross-Guitar, Freddie Walker-Drums, GAK (Gregory Allen King)-Trumpet, Dave Dubois-Guitar/Vocals, Frank Fryer-Lead Singer, and me Tony Paccione-Sax
1973 my senior yr in HS and this was out and we did a dance called the "funky guitar"! The lyrics in this dance song is whats so wrong about dance floor hip-hop! There is a message and you can still dance to this funk!
Ohhhh Maaan I had forgotten about this cut. Geez ! you don't hear guitar riffs like that anymore. It's actually sad the younger people of today missed out on this kind of music but I guess the generation before mine says that about me....and so and so on.
jangofettish1 has a point: 30 or 40 years from now, people will say the same things that we do about classic soul, classic rock, etc. I can't explain it, it's just how people are.
True to a point. But we're still listening classics from the 60s and 70s. Those songs have been played since they were released. Who's talking about Tone Loc's "Wild Thing" or The Real Roxanne today?
The Red Banded American Gangster trailer used this jam in the background!!! Added so much to the trailer. Too bad they didn't use it in the movie!!! Love the Fuzz Wah Wah!!!!!

Just change up some words, Vietnam for Iraq, and it still fits the current state of affairs, from the economy to drugs to joblessness to the war! But man, they deliver it dipped in FUNK!
As an old school phan-atic, I am ashamed to say that I never sat down and litened to this cut from Sir Joe & Free Soul before last week. I heard it on played on XM-the Groove 64 and man--this is funk at it's best. The bass lines, vocals, horns and keyboards are AWESOME! I am a fan forever and I'll add Joe to James, Sly, George, Bootsy and the other masters of the groove!
Dude, the same thing happened to me, I heard it on Channel 60 on XM and it brought back a lot of memories.I googled it and found it on this tube. I have not stopped dancin since I found it.:)
This brought back so many memories. Our Band used to cover this song, and I must say, for a bunch of 14 and 15 year old kids, we nailed this song. Thanks for the post
What great memories are uncovered with this cut!! Jammin' at The Name of the Game in South Central L.A., Maverick's Flat on Crenshaw Bl, and all the house parties in the jungle!!! Thanks much for posting!!
Hi Thanks posting this song. My uncle Raymond Blake of Indianhead, MD was the keyboard player in this band. He is playing both Organ and trumpet on this. That is also his art work on this album cover. He is cuurently with Hardway Connection
