Since the camera has a leaf shutter, I can sync to the maximum of 1/500 sec. What I am not sure of is how to determine a reasonable shutter speed to keep the background properly exposed if I want to use fill-flash. Would it be just a matter of figuring the proper exposure for the scene without flash and setting the flash to half power (i.e. -1 stop) for the subject? I would appreciate your feedback.
