  • i dont know why , but i think the best bass lines of wooten are with bela fleck, i lisent a lot of wooten solos, and with other guys, but when i see him with bela fleck, he got the best tunes .

  • sorry the cuestion, but what is the name of the musician with the smallest instrument ? i want to find more music from that guy

  • Just when I thought could it get better, i heard the end of the song (3:25)...wow...

  • I like Fleck's houndstooth getup.

  • I love the ending. The double bass response is the best i think even though its so simple! Great upload thanks!

  • I never tire of watching Bella and the musicians he works with. Truly amazing fun and creative guys.

  • Wow... bass part at 2:30 !

  • Damn, edgar doing those harmonics! and his closing solo! Just makes my day!

  • wow what is the pirate playing???

  • it is called the drumitar. Its basically electric drums on keyboard.

  • @dbp9z A Drumitar Syntax

  • drumitar

    a midi interface drum box

  • I'm diggin Roy's pirate hat...and the groove, of course.

  • Is that Mark Harmon at sec 0:38 ??

  • 2:30 love it!

    Actually, I love the whole song, it's just...well, I'm a bass player ^_^

  • Bela Fleck+Sam Bush +Victor Wooten+Edgar Meyer=Superband.

  • Yeah, you certainly can go wrong with these folks on stage. :-D

  • @johnscck

Lets not forget Roy Wilfred Wooten (AKA Future Man; RoyE)

Victor's older Brother ....on the Drumitar !

  • @johnscck Roy Wilfred Wooten is pretty awesome too... (AKA Future Man; RoyE)

  • Thank You Man for posting this... Way cool Wow!!!!!

  • niiice

had a great time following the moves of Mr Mandolin too ;>

  • Edgar Meyer .... a good plus the the band A+ !

  • Great song, great band!

Great Victor Wooten, back before he overplayed the piss out of everything as he does now. This is great!

(I know I'm gonna get a lot of crap for that Victor comment.)

    Let'em rip!

  • i actually voted your comment up for that...cos i agree (to some degree) still love the big guy tho.

  • well said, i find he does go way over the top with his solo's in his more recent performances rather than letting the other musicians contribute as much, still, he is a god on the bass (:

  • actually, to be honest, he does show off a bit, but it makes him that much more of a performer. :)

  • oh god this is awesome thanks 4 share this piece of magic

  • these men play the impossible

  • spankiest banjo sound ever.. amazing

  • LOL what!! X.x

    hehe ou

  • That melody on 0:46... Just wonderful!

  • Damn what an amazing show/supergroup. Sam Bush, Vic, Bela Fleck, and Edgar Meyer, and of course the drumitar.lol

I really wish I could have been there.

  • You mean Futurmen... YEAH

  • DAAMMNN! WOnderful!

  • they are awesome

  • whats the pirate playing?

  • drums :-)

  • His name is Futureman and he's playing a drumitar

  • awesome. vic is an amazing bassist and bela fleck & the flecktones flay beautifully together. just one question though. whats with the synthax drumtar, i can't even hear it, is it just me or is it not turned up enough?

  • You know what? I think you're right! The drumitar is very low! I checked the VHS and it's the same way...so that means it's unfortunately just a bad mix from the show.

  • @VideoSamaritan Actually it is so it doesn't interfere with the mandolin chop, considering the mandolin chop and the snare drum on a drum is pretty much the same thing, they probably turned the drums down so you could actually hear the mandolin. ^^

  • its a guitar thing ,coooooool!!!

  • The bass is awesome but I guess I dont get the drumtar thing

  • unreal the way such strange instruments come together and make such beautiful music

    1 word - amazing

  • Don't know how many times I've watched this video now.

    LOVE IT!!

  • beautiful

  • Thank you sooo much, for uploading this. Seriously thankyou =)

  • Awesome! You should get a "Youtube-medal" for keeping legendary clips alive!

  • Thanks!!! I'm only doing this now 'cause it's something new, and I really enjoy reading what other fans have to say. But YOU made my day! :-)

  • is it pronounced "droomitar" of "drum itar"?

  • The 2nd is correct...drumitar. Looks like a guitar, but sounds like a drum (plus a whole lot more!)

  • This groove just got STANK on it. I (tried) to record a segment of it the other night. Not too bad, but man, it just doesn't hold a candle up to the real deal.

  • haha, i love futureman's "puffy shirt" (seinfeld)

  • class vid!

  • what's the instrument of the '' pirate '' ?

  • A drumitar.. Future Man build it himself, its like a big midi bank with drum sounds

  • There is a really good example of the drumitar on another video: The Original Flecktones at Telluride! "Rap/Hole In The Wall." During the "Flecktone Rap" Victor mentions "the drums that must've come from outer space," then you can really hear some of the cool sounds the drumitar can do (like lusklasse said).

  • Thanks----Great video

  • WEEE thanks, there's (never :) not enough mr. Meyer on youtube.

  • They spelled Edgar Meyer wrong, but still an amazing video

  • You're right! I didn't even see that...but now I do. Definately a great performance!

  • another one of my favorites !!
