  • thanks taking the time to put this up. much appreciated!

  • @blengteng you got it, man

  • Great review. you seem like a genuinely nice guy who wants to help other people out. Know what you're talking about as well. I also 10000% agree that teles are the best guitar ever made. Nothing beats a tele through a bluesy tube

  • @rhtchilipepper Thanks, man. I call it the three T's: Tele, Tweed and Tremelo

  • @rhtchilipepper Nice guys rule!

  • Dude.... I have this.... but I play metal 0-0..... and it really works well...

  • @theguywithguitars I'm sure it works great with metal.

  • great video, very good job of explaining the functions of the pedal. cheers

  • @nubnubnubbin Thanks, man. Rock on.

  • Bonus points for the Mudhens shirt!

  • @detoth67 Thanks, I need all the points I can get.

  • Correction... The Stratocaster was the best guitar ever made

  • @StratPlayer4Life perhaps

  • @CodyCEngdahl just my opinion but telecasters are awesome to

  • @StratPlayer4Life Trust me, I love my strat too.

  • @CodyCEngdahl What kind of strat do you have?

  • @StratPlayer4Life 2008 highway one. Honey blonde with rosewood board. I'm planning to switch the neck to an all maple one day. I shot a little video demo a bit back. I'll put it up as a response to this one.

  • I like the vid but hates the way he says TREMELO, LOL!

  • Nice tone. Tele's rule......

  • was this guy in the ymca?

  • @MattHXIV Yes, I've been in many YMCA's but I think you mean The Village People. 'A' for effort, though.

  • @CodyCEngdahl yeah stupid me :P nice mustache anyway unfortunately im blonde so ill never have one like that unless i dye it :/

  • @MattHXIV Never give up the dream, man.

  • wyatt earp..

  • @mrdumbleboy That's a new one

  • i wish I has a mustache like you, you say tremolo wrong :P

  • @initiald31 Fix your grammar and then we'll work on my pronunciation.

  • @CodyCEngdahl

touche.... I wish I had a mustache like you; you say tremolo wrong.

    Now its your turn!

  • @initiald31 "Like yours" would have been better, none-the-less, I'll start looking for a speech coach.

  • Thank you very much . I didn't quite understand the difference between the reverb and tremolo pedals . As soon as you strummed it with the tremolo on , I knew . Thxs alot . - Jerry -- AKA -- HUTCHfromBA

  • @hutchfromba Thanks for watching, Hutch. I hope this cleared it up.

  • good demo mate, much inspired by your epic mustache! you kind look like Jesse Leach.

  • @Danthehorse Thanks, I had to look him up to see who he is. That's a new one.

  • @Danthehorse good man, can take a joke ;-) Very good demo, an enjoyable watch bro.

  • @Danthehorse Thank you very much, my friend.

  • Good review.

    GREAT mustache.

  • @tombuttner thank you twice

  • nice demo.

  • @bobert995 Thanks!

  • Awesome video.

  • nice mustache dude!

  • @JJCNYC87 Thanks, man

  • @JJCNYC87 ...is that drawn on like Groucho's?

  • Thanks for the demo, it really helped! Hoping to get my hands on one of these soon.

  • @IAmMartinCollins I shot this video two years ago and I still think it;s a good buy.

  • i love the way this guy says tremolo. heh.. nice demo :) cheers x

  • @Littlesignals cheers

  • We're not your friends. Also, you should have got a Pulsar.

  • @1988cmd I looked at one of those, but it made me car sick.

  • @CodyCEngdahl Clever. Also.. FAG! You suffer from car sickness.

  • @1988cmd I didn't know that carsickness is a symptom of homosexuality.

  • @1988cmd

    Troll

  • @AwesomeBuddy12 There's nothing like having a n awesome buddy stick up for you.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PLAY YOUR GUITAR. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOU I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE PEDAL.

  • "That would take a bit of acid to enjoy that" >>> Funniest thing I have heard in a pedal demo!

  • You drink dat drink........boi..

  • @JustNHavoc Sho did

  • great demo .this will help me a lot \m/ROCK ON \m/

  • @mrbrownstone1891 Thanks, man. Rock on.

  • The volume did drop a decibel

  • @shredabilly13 I think so too. I've since had it modified by Keeley and did a second video demoing that aswell. Tell me if you still hear a drop witht the modification. I posted it as avideo response to this one.

  • man shut the frack up and play.

  • Ok, now I want a mustache....

  • @F3FisGoodforYou they're glorious.

  • Freddy Mercury is alive!

  • @McTatzi ...and offering free moustache rides!

  • Excellent video. thanks man.

  • telecaster greatest guitar ever made? hmm..debatable...great demo by the way

  • @nittanyfan025 Thanks, I hope day you get to know the greatness of a tele.

  • Great demo brother! On a side note...the Mud Hens shirt made me chuckle a bit. I haven't seen one of thos since I left the Buckeye State a long time ago.

...off to watch the keeley mod pedal next

  • @SingleCoilVoodoo Thanks. man. I'm from Detroit and my girfriend is from Toledo, so were both Hen fans. Thanks for checking out my demo.

  • Hey Cody your haircut is much better now. keep playing .

  • @BIGeSTRING Thanks Big El. I'm playing the local flea market today.

  • is that how you pronounce it ? i always thought it sounded like 'Trem- ell- oh'

  • @adamhopeless You're probably right. I have a tendency of using Latin pronunciation when I'm drunk.

  • @adamhopeless You are correct. The emphasis is on the trem. It's trem'-olo, not tre-molo'.

  • good demo liked how you explained what your doing and how it is effecting the sound

  • @HAWK8871 thank you

  • Good demo, thanks. A Tele is a good choice to demo a tremolo pedal.

  • @woodshome11 Thanks, brother. I'm all about the three T's: tele, tweed, tremolo.

  • Is that Freddie Mercury?!??

  • dale bigote

  • @andygrohl08 ¿Qué quiere decir el bigote de Dalí?

  • @CodyCEngdahl Dalí the surrealist painter (Salvador Dalí)

I bought the BOSS TR-2 and yes it does loss of tone and volume but that's why the mod kit exists out there as you said.

  • @lichalito Yeah, I actually had the Keely modification done and posted a video on it. You can find on the video responses I've add to this page.

  • beautiful stache

  • more playing, less talking

  • @Caleta280 Yeah, I know, I know. I always hope if I talk enough nobody'll notice my sucky playing.

  • @Caleta280 or just be patience.

  • @dokterwouterkabouter There is that too.

  • @Caleta280 make your video and teach me how to play and use this item , if you will be better than this man than gz.... a fck y self...

  • The best demo. I Have a question? Which is better? Boss TR2 or Biyang Tremolo

  • @HENRYV86 Thank you. I don't know. I've never heard of Biyang. I'll tell you this though, Boss makes good blue collar pedals. They may not be the best, but you know what you're getting and they back it up with a five year warranty. Plus, there are so many mods out there that you can always upgrade into kickass boutique pedals.

  • TriMoLaaa.....lol!

  • Is this Cheech Marin's younger brother? Yes, I believe he is!

  • trem-oh-loh. not tramoh loh

  • @CaptainChrismoMusic Thanks, I do. I should get around to doing another demo with it.

  • @CaptainChrismoMusic That I don't know, it does help with tone and volume lose and gives you a true bypass. But as far as taming added highs, not sure.

  • @CaptainChrismoMusic I'm glad to hear that because I almost got a Voodoo lab. I recently got the Keely upgrade on this pedal and now it's just sick. Thanks a lot.

  • I like your mustache. Its very Manly ={D

  • @stratman7000 Thanks, it gives me strength.

  • @stratman7000 I was about to say the same thing

  • Telecasters ARE the best guitars ever made!

  • i have that pedal and u still rock man

  • You can very easely get rid off the volume drop problem by installing the 'famous' C4 mod. Just type 'Boss TR2 C4 mod' in Google in you will find your way through this mod that can anyone do by themselves. Basically you only have to remove 2 C4 capacitors from board and you're done. Without the C4 mod you'll have a fairly good trem pedal, with the mod you'll have the best price-quality trem on the market!!

  • @luit13 Thank you. I've already done the Keely modification. You're about two months late. But I appreciate it. I'm looking to do a demo soon.

  • haha telecaster Greatest guitar ever made. LOL

  • u have a fender Telecaster guitar right

  • Yes,um.

  • nice guitar man u rock

  • Go Hens! Greetings from Adrian, MI ! I have a telecaster and both of those pedals as well. Great pedals and great demo.

  • @maynardblues Go Hens! I'm a Detroit man myself, but I lived in Toledo for a while and now I'm down in Florida. Thanks a lot!

  • Funny. I am trying to decide between the VooDoo Lab Tremolo and the Boss Tremolo and came across your video. I think I will go for the Boss. Cool video thank you!

  • I think the voodoo lab is better, but the TR-2 is a better value for the money and latter on you can have it up graded by Keely and then it;s the best tremolo you can buy.

  • Look at the C4 mod for the TR-2 on Google! Anyone can do it and with the mod (it takes care of the tone and volume drop) you will have the best Trem pedal available!!!

  • lol @ the acid comment

  • Public Service Announcement: If you actually want to hear the pedal, skip ahead to 3:38 where it is played for the first time.

  • Thanks for keeping me in line, Johnny.

  • Congratulations. I hope you like it as much as I do.

  • Umm.. Exactly what switch is broken?

  • It's the switch inside the pedal that shuts it on or off when you step on the pedal. It the click you hear. It's pretty much a cheap plastic part. I just got the pedal back from Keeley and they fixed it for free along with the modifications they did.

  • So when you're going to to demo it?

  • Soon. To be honest, I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet as I've been busy with my acoustic and my bass. But I'll get around to it.

  • is that the standard tele?

  • @44eelz Yes, but I've done some modifications to it. At the time I recorded this I had put on a Wilkenson bridge with brass saddles and a pearloid pickguard. Since then I installed a four-way switch and put on a '69 thinline reissue neck. It's totally awesome now.

  • I've heard of the Red Witch before; pretty expensive.

  • Is that a pedal?

  • my favorite Effect

  • LOL @ acid comment

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks, I'll try to keep that in mind.

  • what?

  • @BCRich12195 chicken butt

  • OMG Ben Stiller can play guitar! XD

  • Now this is a true and honest demo! Just your regular dude checking out his new toy. Unlike most others out there who shows off more than actual review

  • i love your moustache mate

  • It's definitely a crowd pleaser.

  • If yours is one of the new ones I think there's a trim pot inside the pedal to fix the volume drop. Pretty sure Fender fixed that 2 years ago.

  • You mean Boss fixed it? So do I take off the bottom panel to find this trim pot?

  • Haha yeah, I meant Boss. Sorry, Freudian slip. Anything made after late 2006 should have fixed the volume drop issue. I've heard of some with an adjustable trim pot and some without. If yours is a pre-06 one the mod to fix it takes minutes at most. It's a simple resister swap.

  • Yeah, I finally got around to checking and mine doesn't have it. So they must have sent me an old one when I got it.

  • Great demo! BTW, what adapter are you using to power it?

  • Thank you. It's a Boss PSA-120S that I had a six way daisy chain solder on to it so I can power up to six pedals from one plug.

  • Unfortunately, the only acid it comes with is incased in a 9 volt battery, and I wouldn't recommend it.

  • u still rock man

  • I never let my guard down.

  • That mustache is Legen...

    wait for it...

    dary...

  • It is much bigger than I am.

  • Yeah, I get a little slurry when I'm drinking.

  • Thanks for posting this. Best of the videos for this pedal, good job.

I was looking for one of these cause my rotovibe (second one I've had) broke, so tremolo is the closest thing to a vibe without spending rediculous amount of money.

EVERYONE! AVOID BUYING A ROTOVIBE haha

  • Thank you. Vibrato is a slightly different effect, but like you said, it's pretty damn close. You can do most of it yourself with your fingers or a whammy bar. I think Boss, although not a stand out, builds a good durable product for the money. I'm still happy with mine.

  • What other pedals do you have besides the DS-1 and the TR-2?

  • Just those two. I borrowed my friend's SD-1 for a while, but I gave it back.

  • wat the older of Boss Pedals

  • I think the DS-1 is one of their first offereings.

  • u rock man

  • Thanks!

  • i realy like this pedal, jus got it today n fell in love with it. im useing it on a 5 string bass along with the boss odb-3 (over drive) and play realy metaly stuff and am loving the addition of tremolo. but, its awesome

  • Sweet! I should try it on my bass.

  • hey buddy u rock man

  • Thanks!

  • Because of YOU sir, I'm considering getting the Boss tr-2 as my first pedal thank you.

  • Rock on.

  • I hardly feel worthy to bear it.

  • YMCA!!!!

  • I hear it's fun to stay there...

  • possibly the greatest mustache on Youtube.

  • Much obliged.

  • hahaha i second that.

  • Nice review! Very informative and covers what i wanted to know - keep it up =)

Out of curiosity, what songs/riffs are you playing throughout it?

  • Thank you very much, I'm glad I could be of help. The first thing I'm playing is basically "Born on a Bijou" by CCR, or just a vamp in E7. The chords are E7, D and A and then I fill it out by playing an E barre chord in the 7th position and then adding a 11th, or a E minor penatonic scale in the 12th position. The other thing I'm doing is a litte vamp using an A min. 7th chord going to a G major. Everything is finger picked.

  • i like how right when you turned the camera on, you had a sudden urge to take a drink. lol nice vid anyway

  • Yeah, that's dutch courage there.

  • nice demo man. that blues junior sounds nice too!!
