I think we need some clarity on what marijuana ACTUALLY does. Time to put away the hearsay and go down to COLD HARD FACTS. These facts are SCIENTIFICALLY proven. I've been studying marijuana for 35 years.

1) Countless studies show that 35% of those who ingest marijuana turn HOMOSEXUAL. It actives the gay outburst gene, theory has it.

2) Marijuana causes users to withdrawal and turn violent for their next fix.

3) Marijuana leads to harsher drugs such as heroin.

Now this is the kind of activism I like. I do not smoke pot, but it harms nobody and there is a large (and growing) segment of the general population that thinks that pot should be legalized. It is nice to see that the cops did nothing and you got newspaper coverage. This is about as successful as a liberty protest gets. I can't wait to get to NH!!!

In the case of slaves and women, those are human rights issues. Not really comparable with legalizing pot.

Smoking weed is a human right. Self ownership is the basis of all rights and the right to apply heat to a plant, suck in the smoke and breathe it out is obvious. Even if the smoker gets cancer, turns to harder drugs, ends up too lazy to do everyday tasks like in that humourous song- it's all irrelevant. MY body, MY rules.

I just explained. It is a human right that one can do whatever they please with their own body as long as it doesn't affect other beings. It's not so much that one has the right to smoke weed as that nobody has the right to stop them.

I do think it's a ridiculouly difficult law to enforce (duh) and arresting attempted suicidees is mind-bogglingly stupid.

I think that self-ownership is axiomatic, this covers suicide.

Also, suicide has been legal in the UK for 40+ years (and was only ILlegal because of religious influence in old lawmaking) and it's hardly caused a breakdown of society.

And it's not even completely a rights issue- it's practicality. You can send in the guns as much as you like but it's like trying to outlaw hurricanes.

There are two options for the govt.:

-Keep wasting billions of tax money (ill-gotten gains imho) trying to fight a victimless crime.

-Legalise it and stop wasting money, collect revenue on taxing it, free up the overcrowded prisons, and so on. I could keep listing reasons all day.
