Most of the XR2s from this area are used for festa racing or spare parts for the race cars. Whitch makes it very hard to get one. There are a few left but they are about £1500 with an mot. Most xr2s where made in Spain Spanish steel rusts quickly so many have just rotted away.

I thought a v8 xr2 would be fun but it is a lot of work lots of cutting and welding will be running about 370hp soon testing NoZ on Sunday before fitting bigger jets to run 370hp.

My Dad had a white XR2 in the 80s! Cool car - great performance, too!

lovely wee cars.still prefer them in standard form. the 90`s killed a lot of xr2`s with silly kits.i`m a purist and like them standard.

I have also remembers on this car, i had 70kw 1.6 motor and ´88 release. To bad i crashed with it and then sold it down...

in january 1985 my friend bought a brand new XR2 B reg, it cost £5800 .....it was a no frills affordable fun hot hatch.. great car...fun cars happy days....!!

@Coleshill1 i can remember some years ago. some time in 2009 2000. on my way to a mates. and seen an XR2 on a drive way looked like it had been there some time.. so i asked if it was for sale . she said come back later.. so i did... no shit i got the CAR for 50pound.. cleaned it up had some Sap on it from being under a tree.. the car looked like it had just came out of the show room.. looked Great.. i was shocked... best buy Ever...

Fiesta mk1 with mk1,5 and mk2(even mk3) are unbreakable!.Had all of them mk2 xr2 too, I am a rallyfan and can honest tell that even if you would want break the car you would got problems (almost only way to do it is just crash it) my mk1,5 took 1L oil per100km(60miles) and the engine was still running like that, about 4years and the engine didnt want to die!Back than I was 17years old and didnt know there are revs below 5k x]But fiesta wasntAngry onMe x] Because ofBiggerTrunk I drive escortRST

your lucky then if yours hasn't suffered rust coz escorts and fiesta's usually rot like hell,fact!! my dad's had 2 old fords,looked after them and still had massive welding bills,i do know about cars and i'm a mechanic,i'm not putting down fords at all i really like them i'm just saying with the exception of a lucky few old fords rot if not say wax oiled and kept garaged!
