  • That stupid boss made me dizzy when I tried the game out the first time. How annoying, lol!

  • One thing I noticed in this game is when things get crazy, certain animations will slow down (especially the explosions), but not the game itself. It appears that the game is actively throttling the priorities of certain things based on the overall CPU load in order to prevent the overall game from slowing down.

    Manfred Trenz has God-like programming skills.

  • this game looks great but still a thunderforce 4 will beat this.

  • Not to disparage Trenz' great achievement here, but I don't see why this game would require a custom chip to begin with. He's just taken what the the hardware has to offer out of the box and put it to excellent use.

  • Ouch, my eyes and ears hurt. Some of the best graphics and worst music I've ever experienced from a Super NES game.

  • Bad music? Lol, Chris Hülsbecks BGM was and still is some of the best of all times.

  • yeah, this game is arguably the most impressive on all of SNES. I put up some R2 videos long ago... I think it was this level in particular that had like 30 sprites coming at ya 100 MPH with no slowdown. Un-frickin-believable.
