Lets face it, most of us ladies who look good at her age have been using makeup and have been plucking and dyeing our hair so no one really knows what we look like without it! She didn't use makeup before and when she went to her BGT audition because she was alone and no one paid her any attention anyway. She looks good here but she was cute before when she did her audition and she is really sweet and talented and that's what matters.

She did not need a makeover to have a great voice, but she is a woman. All women want to look their best. How many women would want to appear before millions of people not looking their best? It is not like they gave her implants or plastic surgery. All they did was her hair, makeup, and clothes. People criticizing her for the makeup should consider if they do not do all they can to look their best themselves and give Susan the same right.
She didn't need a makeover to have a beautiful voice, but she did need need a makeover to not be unattractive. If she had simply been looked plain I doubt it would have drawn any comment, however her appearance drew attention to itself. Appearance has nothing to do with her skill as a singer, but a singer's role in society is as an entertainer and a makeover makes her more then a caricature, a backflipping dog, and become someone who can be valued for her talent rather then her oddity.
I think that she was amazing just the way she was. She reminded us that you don't have to be glamerous to be talented. Inner beauty far out weights that of outer beauty. A georgous face will fade, but her voice will live on forever in the memories of all who have had the privilege to hear her sing. She is an inspiration to so many people. The Harpers Bazaar people did a nice job but Susan as she appeared on BGT video was unique beyond words and lovable to the enth degree. It's nice but something unique has been lost ( a little) in the translation.A truly lovable human being a rare specimen.

Don't get me wrong, she looks lovely now, and she really seemed to enjoy it, but it's sad that people can't seem to see past appearances no matter how talented and kindhearted someone is.

The Harpers Bazaar people did a nice job but Susan as she appeared on BGT video was unique beyond words and lovable to the enth degree. It's nice but something unique has been lost ( a little) in the translation.A truly lovable human being a rare specimen.

I just got my copy of the issue (on Friday August 14 in Los Angeles). It should be out everywhere in the USA and Canada by Tuesday August 18. Susan is on pages 250-253 of the nearly 500 page magazine, with two full page photos of her. Cost is $4.99 US / $5.99 Canada. Well worth it! :-)
