Not a fan of Herman Cain. I don't think he's the kind of leader we need, and I don't agree with him on foreign policy in general. But on the Libya issue: when Cain spoke of "opposition", I'd hoped he'd referred to Qadaffi's political opposition; the rebels. I'd hoped he was questioning the wisdom of putting revolutionaries in power whose aims and views we have little knowledge of. It gives us a bad name when we support dictators and violent extremists, for example.

Not a fan of Herman Cain. I don't think he's the kind of leader we need, and I don't agree with him on foreign policy in general. But on the Libya issue: when Cain spoke of "opposition", I'd hoped he'd referred to Qadaffi's political opposition; the rebels. I'd hoped he was questioning the wisdom of putting revolutionaries in power whose aims and views we have little knowledge of. It gives us a bad name when we support dictators and violent extremists, for example.

However, he doesn't have any political experience at all, and you really need to know your foreign policy stuff if you're running for president. Before Cain goes off on Obama for getting rid of Gaddafi, he should make sure that Obama's policy was, in fact, to get rid of Gaddafi. Obama's policy was to stop Gaddafi from committing atrocities, in cooperation with NATO.
Ironically, Cain is criticizing Obama for what a fellow Republican, Bush the Lesser, did in Iraq. Is it too much to hope for that Cain has learned from Bush's mistake, even if he's misapplying that lesson to Obama?
