awesome, LA punk 1977-1982 was the best shit ever! this song is total genius. plus John Doe killing it on bass! no, beyond aweomse. this 45 is 2 x anything that ever came out of the dumb UK bands/1977. (note: the Saints were NOT a UK band, right).
@mikeinoakland thanks for the tip on john doe on bass here. you are totally correct about killing it, this is how the freakin thing should be played. rad
Pat Rand, one of the principles of Dangerhouse. I want to say KK is on this, do your Screamers homework. Really recorded in their spare time. Are they not great? ABCD is the front side, Let's Get Rid of New York is the B/W. So these guys come up from OK and don't let you know where they are from and make a pioneer punk lable and over 30 years later you want to know. I was there, it was the BEST!. Signed Truckngirl, middle aged punk rocker! Appreciate your interest in keeping our history alive!
It's fucking hard trying to find '77 L.A punk man!I like this record fuck no york!!!L.A had a way way way better sound! We need this again instead of all these trendy ass fucking losers that are here now!....Did anyone know the masques a church now????
@Erikdirtysandoval it used to be a porn theater, at least upstairs, it's the old Cecil B DeMille building. Entrance off Cherokee in the alley. We used to watch the "european well dressed men" load boxes of porno tapes from the alley. There was a fire. And a flood from the sprinklers. I was there after that as the manager.
''Recorded at home in their spare time''. Lol

New York, what a town! About the Biggest thing around,
All the big things happen there; Well if it aint new york-it's really square
Fashion there is really passion, Airplanes there are always crashin'
King Kong knew what he was doing, When he leapt the crowded Freeway

If all the money left on wall street..If the Axwood, sacked Madison Ave.
If the whores left 42nd street..Then what kind of city would you...have?
New York-What a town, About the biggest shit around,
All the Big things happen there;well if it ain't New York-It's really square

I can't believe they didn't do anything else. As bad if not a worse crime than the Screamers not releasing anything...

I love both sides of this 45. Apparently Dangerhouse only pressed 2050 copies--and I have one of them.
