Medicare payments make up approximately 45-55% of a hospitals revenue, and if you were to only pay using the "Medicare Model" then you will be reducing our quality.
With all this being said, I understand why all the doctors recommend becoming a Physical Training Technician, Nurse, Ad, or Doctor. Because the people are OVERWORKED AND UNDERPAID ALREADY and taxes and ALL TYPES OF INSURANCE ARE SKYROCKETING! How can anyone ONE PERSON create their own business if they can't afford coverage? What a joke.
But here we are with the House letting illegals (who have never broke a sweat) access to the same system that United States Citizens had to break their backs for. Where is the sense in that? Good luck.

Think of sports or repetitive hard labor jobs were injuries are high risk. A person needs to be able to afford these coverages at the same time.
I know first hand, being a young person, how important it is to be able to get health insurance for a pre-existing injury. Depending how bad the injury is, where the injury happened, etc., it is important to be able to get health, disability, compensation, and social security disability (or SSI) benefits.

Thank you Senator Specter. It is my hope that there will be some positive adjustments to the Bill when it goes to Conference. The House did an excellent job of putting together a HealthCare package. I am hopeful that some of those options become part of the final bill.

I can agree with the "pre-existing" injury change. Certain injuries heal and long term, short term health insurance is a must, along with compensation insurance and social security. If the injury can heal, rather let stay on these benefits and get back into the work force and build a bigger tax bracket and add to one's social security net. Thank you.

Time and again during your illustrioous career you have shown the solid courage borne of sound convictions. You have done so again. I am so glad you ultimately rejoined the Democratic Party, and will be proud to work, donate, and vote for your re-election in 2010.

This vote which had to be "bought" is very sad... It is very sad that the people will is no longer represented and that your party could not get one Republican vote... You couldn't even get all the votes of your own party; so you bribed them to get the vote through... I hope you're proud of yourself. You did not represent the People!!! Senator Specter, you are unbelievable. This is not health care reform, it is legislation that increases taxes and ultimately will provide less choice. There will be no Conference as Dems will push it through before America wakes up. The least you could have done is sold yourself like the senators from LA and NE and got PA money for Medicaid. Now PA residents will have to pick up that tab... through taxes. I am glad you defected to the Dems and can't wait to see you go at the end of your term.

Thank you Senator Specter. It is my hope that there will be some positive adjustments to the Bill when it goes to Conference. The House did an excellent job of putting together a HealthCare package. I am hopeful that some of those options become part of the final bill.
