  • thats is a wounderful layout you did a great job on it i like the cab-forward engines but it will be some time before i get my hands on one of those engine i sent alot of money this year picking up lionel postwar sets those are fun to run and i like working on them and restoreing them back and given them a 2nd chance on the rails with a much better owner me lol : ]

  • was this tmcc

  • @pensyturbine affirmative...lol :)

  • @sd90dash8048 can you make more videos of this engine and it's sounds

  • @pensyturbine you have to ask ppiker not me...i dont own one :)

  • !!!SPLENDID VIDEO!!! Regards from Spain......Jordi.

  • wow i need to get me one of those

  • So Canon.

  • I remember that!! Look closely. You can see me walk pass the mountain in the back ground.

  • The Espee's original "Tunnel Motor"!

That is an exceptional layout! I just subscribed to see more.

  • now that is a great layout!!!!!! i hope mine could look that great someday.

  • Where did you get the balloon in the back ground?? Real neat!!!! Great lay out!!

  • The hot air balloons are made by Lionel #24177 Hot Air Balloon Ride. Which is a set of 2 balloons, as one goes up the other one comes down

  • awesome man. wut kind of crossing it sounds really realistic

  • cool

  • Three rails offered Lionel some advantages. Easier to do reverse loops, easier to operate accessories like crossing gates and easier to manufacture trains with out insulating axles.

Never intended to be scale models originaaly,

Scale ws in the kids imagination back then.

  • what engine is that

  • i am about to put my train's on youtube and i wood like you to see them

  • Since I was a little kid, I've never been able to get over the fact that Lionel trains have three rails. Not realistic or authentic at all. This has kept me from wanting a Lionel train period. To me it is ABOUT being real. I've never seen a real train track with three rails.

  • thats the only bad part about lionel

  • i use shadow track it looks very real

  • High speed Euro Trains use a thrid rail (TGV), and so do a lot of other railroads that use electric engines. Subways have a thrid way.

  • The third rail is off to side placed on ceramic insulators. totally different than a Lionel track set-up.

  • Not realistic yes, but it is a toy and the tin plate track makes it what it is. But each to his own they are however a whole lot of fun

  • I'm talking about in the 1950's and 60's, fwiw. I inherited an American Flyer Train set from my older brother (two rails).

I can't help but wonder what the designers were thinking when they decided to use the three rail tracks. Apparently, at the time they could have made it work with two -- American Flyer did. ???

It sort of defeats the point of a model reflecting reality.

But they ARE awesome. I would love to have a train setup like this... but preferable with two tracks. ;)

  • Check out my basement model train

  • very very nice

i recently purchased te norfolk and westeren and southern pacific and the union pacific challenger and they are impressive compared to my 4-8-4 reading

  • HAHAHA if u look in the background u can see a Coaster Dynamix set, LOL

  • Very nice, I hope you add more soon. Thanks for sharing.

  • 56 cars on that train!too cool.

  • are those hot air balloons?? damn...(in a good way:)

  • that is a very expensiive engine u got there.love the layout

  • GREAT LAYOUT !!!

  • trash mouth

  • What size turns are those?

  • They are 084's

  • nice engine add some more and that train can sour

  • oh shit this is great, now add 3 more engines and make that train fly.

  • where is this layout located? and is it veiwable to the public?

  • you need to weather that stuff.

  • Looks great as it is!

  • Enjoyed the video - good work - thanks!

  • very nice

  • Beautiful. I LOVE MODEL TRAINS!!!

  • whats rolling stock?

  • Rolling stock are the cars being pulled or pushed by the train locomotive.

  • where did you get that roller coaster in the background?

  • Great scenery!!! Love the Horses!!

  • That SP Cab Forward is nice. Nice video and layout

  • did you take every piece of rolling stock on your layout and put it on this one train? very nice.

  • No, this layout is in a volunteer fire company. I designed it and did most of the work on it. The long train for the most part is mine. The engine and 50 cars I took over to see how long of a train could be pulled by a single engine on O-84 curves. After we used all of my cars we did use some of the fire companies rolling stock that was not being used.

  • How big's this great layout?

  • The layout is 20' x 44'
