@Unplugged704 Yes it helps with the casting, But we have now modifide the same slip floats and glued weights to the bottom of the float that helps with the casting and went to less splits shots on the leaders
hi, i have a few questions about the rig. wat happens to the little black tube the stopper comes on? i have a pack and idk how thatd work, and once i put the stopper on is there a way i can get it off without cuttin all that line off?
hey man, firstly great vids very informative. im from scotland, we normally just fish for trout in the lochs. just wondering if this rig would be good for fishing with a fly on the top of the water, or would it be more preferable to just fix the float as apposed to having the sliding rig. we usually just bait fish with a sliding weight swivel then a few feet of leader then powerbait or maggots. but would be good to give the float a go. all advice would be appreciated thxs, chris
@matmil75 Always use a swival with live bait no matter how you are fishing it. If the bait swims in circles your line will get twists, second it keeps the float from down to the bait and gett caught up.... but the most important reason is line twists
@squirtx16 Ahhh, that makes sense. Excellent tip, I appreciate it. I can not tell you how many times while night fishing with jumbo leeches my set up got all tangled. I will definitely make this adjustment. Thanks again, I will be subscribing soon.
They are awesome. Best float just rig it like the video.... as far as wind if its blowing at your back they will go far. If its blowing at you make sure you hook bait in the lips or head and it should cut right through the wind..
the lower you get it to sit the better because they are long and narrow makes them let more sensitive then a round bobber. the red/yellow is the top the more yellow under the surface the better. Make sure you have some red showing. You have to mess with how much weight you put on it to get it right.......
squirtz, can u plz make a video on how to line a real...cause my dad usally does it for me but im not with him for a month and i want to go fishing down at a river down my road....i know u need a spool or somthing like tht but when theres no line on the real i dnt know how to do it...cause when i tried it didnt real proporly
Nice video. You mentioned using 7 splitshots 3/4.... why not use 1-2 oz weights instead? I'm assuming this is to help with the cast....

@HATINTHEKAT cut the black tube off but be carefull not to cut your line... if you want to take the stopper off just slide it down the line

Thanks but I couldn't see as well as I would have liked. I would have preferred just the close up you have on the right.

Love the video and instructions.
One question I had is why use a swival? I am sure there is a good reason, I just never have but will probably try it this spring. Thanks!!

any tackle shop should carry them. They may have a few different types. I like the THILL stops. try searching for them on the net also.
