I love Julia. She drives home the point that humor and warmth are neither the invention, nor the property, of religion or "spirituality".
And of course, she knows perfectly well the answer to her rhetorical question: "What is the matter with people?". The answer is that noone wants to get old, or believe that "this is all there is", or to realize that she or he is not going to survive death in some magic kingdom, but merely cease to exist. And that there's $ in pretending none of this is true.
