  • feng wei is based frm the bad guy

  • I'm a blackbelt. And, you aren't taught to fight with your hands away from guarding your vital points. I think the reason Lee did it, if he ever did it, is because he was so fast that he didn't need to keep his hands up to guard because he could get them up in a fraction of a second to stop a kick.

  • this bit May not have happened

  • @pauljrchef

none of it happened this entire movie is a farce.

  • @Schusnap

Your really good at counting then aren't you

  • When I throw punches or kick i wish it could sound like that too. :-(

  • @outlaw6066

I'd be more than happy to stand behind you at all times during your fights and make the sounds when you throw punches

  • 2.37...awsome....

  • the real guy ran bruce caught him then he submitted

  • it turns out in real life bruce lee didn't break his back by johnny sun he broke it during a work out they but this in the movie for dramtic affect

  • at 4:32 FINISH HIM;BRUCE LEE WINS;FATALITY!

  • 2:41 i wish i could crack my knuckles like that

  • True but it didnt go down like this. He was at his school with on of his students and wife. The "elders" and their "champion" showed up. Bruce beat the dude up bad but was winded and upset. He told Linda, I should have kicked his ass in under a minute when it took like about 3 minutes. After winning like that and not being statified he started working toward creating JKD.

  • if it was the real bruce lee he will kick he ass very fast

  • is this actually true?

  • @WizardFM Yeah it was. Except that the guy didn't break his back after losing the fight

  • @KXRB16 REALLY!? GOO ON BRUCE! I thought he actually broke his back which lead him to write his book.

  • @Malphas007 Well Bruce actually did break his back. But it was from lifting weights

  • @KXRB16 Well its better than a loser kicking him in the back! Also i better watch out then, i lift weights, better not follow in his footsteps LOOL. This guy is a legend!

  • @Malphas007 Definitely!

  • @WizardFM No. There are a lot of things Linda left outand had wrong that had a big impact on Bruce's life. In real life Linda really did not do all those stuff the movie showed. There is this one women that really had a impact on his life that this movie did not talk about and he died by getting pain killers from her. Also there was not a second fight between the two and the real person fighting against him was scared to fight him. If you want more detail just scream at me.

  • @GacktRockz GIVE ME MORE INFORMATION ABOUT BRUCE LEE!!!!

  • @MrHirio Part 2: The fight happened in his business. His first job was a busboy and a waiter and not a dish washer. Bruce ask another women to marry him before meeting Linda but she turned him down. You will not get that from Linda. It was not Linda's idea to wright Bruce's first fighting book. It came out shortly after he died. It is unknown if Betty Ting (his mistress) had sexual relationships but he did said things about her Bruce never said about Linda. There is no curse in him and family.

  • what a pussy long hair fagget

  • I love that movie, but this scene is too funny :D 3:56 "HATA HATA HATA HII !! SQUOMSH, SQUOMSH ZZZ...THAT!! WOAIT!!! :D:D:D

  • Man, i love this movie.

  • Thanx btw Im a girl....

  • @TheBambieyes You're a girl, & you like Bruce Lee? Dang...You rock! :)

  • @RobertLei Yea bruce lee iz awsum

  • @TheBambieyes U get so many points for lovin bruce lee! i wish u was my girl

  • @KnuckleheadSag1989 I didnt realize it was unusual 4 a girl 2 lik bruce lee, but thanx

  • I LUV THE HANDSHAKE @ 1:28

  • Im mad cuz I want this movie nd I cant find it anywhere, it was coming on tv alot last summer, but not anymore...so frustrating

  • @TheBambieyes order it on amazon bro

  • Baaaaaa that was cheating when johnny kicked Bruce lee in his back when he wasn't looking

  • this is holywoods interpretation of Bruce doing good mornings and injuring his back

  • @KidDynamite40 Yep I agree....That's not exactly how he hurt his back. He whooped that guys ass easy. He's only regret was that he wasn't able to do it fast enough.

  • I am not an expert at martial arts, so please, nobody attack me for my opinion. But from what I have heard from older people who actually saw him, he was the real thing. It would be interesting to see him in MMA.

  • @TheGoldcountry no it wouldnt he created short distance alot of power his side kick will take u off ur feet people had pads 6 inches thick and still had bruises on there body bruce is way to fast and smart he wasnt just trained to fight great it was also knowledge

  • @HyPeWaffles I think we agree- my point was that he almost singlehandedly created an American martial arts phenomenon, and I wish we could see him now.

  • Linda was actually pregnant while here for the fight. She said it lasted for a grueling three minutes which Bruce did not expect would take that long. His opponent ran out into the parking lot where Bruce chased and beat him, then came back in to throw the others out.

This fight is cool, but the real story is more interesting.

  • 3:57 SHQUIMISH SHQUIMSH!

  • @LDKBBAB ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa xD

  • Jonny got his ass kicked in both fights.

Great movie. Question some events but overall excellent! Jason Scott Lee was great for this part in my opinion.

  • @dpboyden if you look in the wikipedia you will see that he comes from both chinese and hawian desent.

  • One more thing. Bruce broke his bach training. Second: That was realy the black dude that helped Bruce right the fighting book we know and love today. Everything Linda said she did was the Black dude. What do you think she did all day living with Bruce?

  • The true story is that, their was never two fights with them. In real life, he was scared of Bruce. What Linda showed through this movie is "look at my super majic asian man." Where the hell is this place. In the movie, Bruce rade a motorcycle and it just went away the next seen. The movie and her story telling suck. If she just went with what realy was going on, Brandon Lee would of play in it, but o no. He played the Crow and died playing the movie. Thanks Linda! What a good mom and wife.

  • @GacktRockz If Bruce married her she must be good. stop your trash talk if you don't understand Hollywood and the way society works to go a see a movie. That's why everything usually says "based on." Also it's pretty fucked up you kind of blame her for Brandon's unfortunate death in the crow.

  • @xxDarkestCloudxx Are you really think I blamed her. No! All I said is if she told 90% or even 100% of the truth, Brandon Lee would want to play the role and not the crow. Second, there was NEVER a second fight and the first one is not in a dome in America. Third, he was to scared of Bruce. Forth, Bruce broke his back tranning and doing moves his boby could'nt take. Five, Linda is a house wife and did not do or say half the thingd she said she did, his friends are. Yes it was hollywood + Linda.

  • @xxDarkestCloudxx What you said is true about this. I should of not say anything about this part not happened and real life. That Linda really did not care if this movie was off. That she did not care to even talk to his loved ones if they had any info on Bruce and only went off what she thinks. I'm sorry. Its hollywood, that could do stuff like, Bruce Lee is a dish washer but really was a waiter and him fighting in a majical secret Chinese dome in America when its false. Sorry!

  • @GacktRockz You didn't understand a thing I said and do you have proof Linda didn't do all that? Because if so, I'd like to see it.

  • @xxDarkestCloudxx I have proof!

  • @xxDarkestCloudxx w w w . i m d b . c o m / t i t l e / t t 0 1 0 6 7 7 0 / g o o f s

I had to space them because the website will not let me. Copy and paste.

  • jason scott lee did a really good job in the fight scene for someone that didn't know a lick of martial arts

  • @DW1014 was trained only for 8 weeks,man.

  • I really like Bruce Lee.

  • Ihated how this movie was so unaccurate like this movie is like 20% true first of all Linda was there watching him fight, Bruce did not back his back in this fight, and this fight lasted only 90 seconds. this movie was ok but they fucked his story really bad like alot of it if they kept it true 2 Bruce's story they're would have been more fight scenes cuz Bruce kept getting challanged by other Kung fu masters and he would fight them right then and there so yea they fucked up

  • @reyfuego360 I have the movie on DVD. I thought it was great when I watched it but was also disappointed to hear how historically inaccurate it was. The director admits taking creative license with some story elements in the commentary and actually tells you what really happened in real life. That's Hollywood for you.

  • kinda looks like Marshall Law vs Feng Wei... right? ;)

  • can anyone tell me the book he has which tells what to do while fighting rather than the one that just tells his thoughts and that

  • @gerardm388 tao of jeet kun do? or they just put a 3 book set not sure of the name though

  • he is not half as fast as bruce

  • turns out some bits in this movie aren't 100% true. bruce lee didn't get sent to hospital, his wife was present at the fight. bruce won fair and square.

  • Is Johnny Sun fighting in the Hung Gar style?

  • Comment removed

  • @Mrjustinqqq Those are people! NOT evil demons or sprits lol. Gosh stop being so superstious!

  • this never happened,dramatised bullshit

  • @Mrjustinqqq Well said. Personally, I think that's a very grounded and realistic understanding of what Bruce actually did.

  • @Mrjustinqqq As for JKD, I see at least 2 forms of it in existence: philosophically, and in terms of physical arts. Philosophically, I'd define it as to be adaptable, yet practical and efficient, but that's just how I see it. I'm sure there's more. In terms of physical arts, that requires foundation in WC followed by any other martial art of your choosing. It was the latter definition I was using, in terms of technicality when I made the previous statement.

  • @Mrjustinqqq You could be right about him not just using only Wing Chun. I only suspect it was the case because he trained in WC the most before coming to the U.S. and I'm sure he was drilled into keeping solid contact with the ground. Therefore, he wouldn't have used jump kicks or high kicks in real fights, especially because at the time, he had weak leg strength. It's why he opted for boxing/fencing footwork over grounded stances in the future, since it worked for him well.

  • It's because of Bruce Lee, we have awesome fighting game characters like

Liu Kang, Fei Long, and Marshal Law.

  • @KennethMoreland i think you mean forest law. (Tekken)

  • @mj19580 Marshall and Forest are father and son, but actually the same character.

  • @isanetheone oh right

  • watching this on utube is awesome, but watching it on the big screen is so freakin awesome i seen it when if 1st came out back in the day and sound was so freakin awesome no srrouind sound in a home theatre will ever come close js.

  • OK, I want everyone to know that this fight did actually happen except bruce lee fucked him up within 3 minutes. Bruce Lee also did sustain a back injury but it wasn't because of a sucker kick it was because he performed a workout call "good morning". He did this exercise with over 100lbs and messed it up......... This movie isn't a fair portrayal of Bruce Lee.

  • AWESOME fight scene. Jason Scott lee Rocks as does Bruce

  • I wish ppl would understand Bruce Lee was great i'm a fan and he inspired me to do martial arts but no one is invincible believe it or not I've heard stories of bruce lee losing in fights

  • @superbro1938 But he sure as heck learned from his losses!

  • heh, i love how this scene has a huge mortal kombat vibe to it

  • This movie needs to be on blu ray already

  • Bruce lee " forever "

  • Well Jason Scott Lee's body was well built and he's very flexible too as shown in 2:12. However I think his fighting speed is not quite fast enough to act as Bruce Lee.

I do not think Bruce Lee would get caught off guard like that. He was always so aware and so dam fast.

  • @ale03000 Actually it's unrealistic to think anyone could NEVER be caught offguard.I'm definitely not the one here to say I'm that man that could ever be bad enough or fast enough to to sneak the great BL...But BL was realistic. He even took shots in his movies. I think that proves BL was aware that anyone can at least be lucky and make contact.Unlike a StevenSegal movie I saw where 20 guys ran at him at he flip and struck every last one ,yet took not one shot.

  • too bad lee died :( to add insult to injury 3 weeks after international fame :( dammnnn he was the mannn

  • 'I teach who I want...the decision is mine!'

You tell em', Sifu! Who you teach your style to is your business...if the people are willing to learn, Bruce is willing to show them what they need to know.

  • LoL @ the sound effects 2:30.

  • did sun just claw lee chest?

  • @hin60 yeah u can see when bruce is on the ground

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • Okay. This is for everyone's information and benefit. This particlular scene is about and based on the actual fight Bruce Lee had with Wong Jack Man. Every Bruce Lee fan or any martial arts fan for that matter knows this. To and for those who do not, you have Google and Wikipedia available for research. :)

  • the character he fights here is not real. the fight happened in bruce lee's school. the guy ran away mid fight and got his head pounded on. bruce lee broke his back lifting weights.

  • great fight scene but this part of the movie wasn't true, and if you think im lyin you have to watch the interview where he talked about this fight, he kicked that guys ass good and even made him run from him but he chased him down and pounded him a lilttle more..and his real name was johnny sun..and that guy did not break bruce lee's back he never had his back broken in a fight he broke his back later on though performing some kind of flexibility move that requires heavy bending of the back

  • ahaha this movie's totally for theatrics. I liked it, but I just realized that if this fight is before he creates JKD in the movie's plot, right now he should be using Wing Chun, which doesn't feature or use any roundhouse kicks. Especially jump kicks. Well then again, someone said this was only based on his life and it's not 100% accurate.

  • At 02:17 is wish my warm-up punches made noises like that

  • I Hate Pepole That Dont Know How To lose Like This Guy!

  • fun fact, this is a movie don't forget this, bruce lee actually injured his back due to a weight lifting accident, not being kicked in the back Y^_-y

  • I LUV DA HAND SHAKE @ 1:28!!!

  • @AnthonyNiroshan I thought that was cool too, lol..

  • This scene is wildly inaccurate, not to mention dramatically over-done 1) the fight took place on a rooftop in Oakland, not some creepy Chinese Secret Death Match Room. 2) the scrap lasted anywhere from 3 to 28 minutes, depending on who you wanna believe 3) The fight was a draw. Lee used as short-range style (Wing Chun), and the opponent-- Wong Jack Man-- used a long-range one. Lee's shaken confidence in his style was the genesis of Jeet Kun Do, 4) Lee assed up his back lifting weights

  • @usergreg1498 ,no, the fight took place in Bruce's school. I never heard of a street fight lasting up to 20 minutes, but I hear what you're saying. The dude was trying to hurt Bruce, they werent sparring, this was a serious encounter. If they send someone to close your school down, the dude that they get is like an enforcer, Bruce was possibly defending his life or himself from going to the hospital, because Wong was a grandmaster, his hits were extremely powerful,Bruce was in a serious battle

  • No such thing as Demons, this never happened to Bruce Lee. Its about his Wifey making some money. Sad cow!.

  • i thought brucelee injured his back through training?

  • @cue1555 yes thats correct - lifting weights without fully warming up

  • @mrblondeno2 oh ok thanx for clearing that up. why they made it different in movie

  • I always marvel at the mental and physical strength of Bruce.....if all chinese can have that spirit, that will be great

  • I always marvel at the mental and physical strength of Bruce.....if all chinese can have that spirit, that will be great

  • great videos on bruce lee..

  • I used to watch this movie when I was 10. I loved this scene, except for the end when he got kicked in the back!

  • 3:39 POWER!!!

  • Bruce Lee vs Johnny Sun... ROUND ONE .. FFIIGGHHTTT !!!!!!

  • bruce lee wins... flawless victory.. fatality

  • There is a more attractive Asian actor, you're looking right at him! It's Jason Scott Lee. Also see Brandon Lee (Bruce's son) and Jet Li (no relation). Jason Scott did a perfect job imitating Bruce, as he was trained by a real JKD instructor, SIFU (with an "I") Jerry Poteet. The fights were exaggerated, and the gymnastics extra, but that was a tribute to Bruce's directing style. This movie was based on his wife Linda's book, "Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew." I think it was very well done.

  • @dpboyden but jason is not chinese he's from hawaii.

  • Comment removed

  • fail, jason scott lee isn't related.

  • Congratulations, dtpark! You are the first one to spot that! Jason Scott Lee is NOT related. He is actually half Hawaiian, and was raised in Hawaii since the age of 2. Many people think having the same last name limited his movie career before it ever began. His most well known role was as Mowgli in The Jungle Book. He was offered to play Liu Kang in the movie Mortal Kombat, and turned it down. His career really never rose above that point. You win a free copy of The Jungle Book on DVD!

  • Peaceson - It's Wu Jack Man (with an "A") and Ching Wu school. Many people say that fight never happened at all. Bruce's people said he won. All the masters who wanted Bruce dead said he lost. Ching Wu is a name used in many kung fu movies (Jackie Chan's, Jet Li's, Bruce's, and many others) and may or may not refer to a real Chinese school. Sometimes legendary people and places are referred to in kung fu movies. Most times, the writers are Americans who know nothing about China.

  • Tom - Bruce Lee's never been injured at the hands of someone else, aside from maybe a bloody nose or hand. Not that he never risked his life fighting people, it simply never happened. Snafu got it right - Bruce injured his back from excessive weight training. He was in traction for several weeks, and rehab for several more. He never took a cheap shot. Bruce did anger many kung fu masters in China and the US because kung fu was very secretive until he started teaching "round eyes." (Gwai Lo)

  • What I love about this movie is how the autobiographical parts and the fictional stuff flow together so seamlessly that only someone who studied JKD and Bruce's life would be able to tell one from the other. That being said, let's fix some of the errors posted here...

  • bruce lee did have his back broken from such a fight, not from weight training. he did not begin his weight training regime until he had wrote and published the tao of jeet kun do which came well after this fight.

  • acrtually it was reported by alot of the kung fu masters that bruce actually lost the fight. this was based on the challange match he fought against wu jack men who was a northern shaolin master of the chin wu school(jet li in fearless charactor huo yan jia created the chin wu academy).

  • Bruce won the fight.

  • bruce lee should have punched him more in the face repeatidly

  • The funniest parts of this fight:

    1) 3:28

    2) 3:36

    lmao!

  • They will never find an Asian Actor who looked as attractive as Bruce Lee ever, nor will they find one who can imitate him 100%, but i appreciate them trying lol.

  • ya, that sun guy say he yield and then cheap shot him by kicking him in the back and at the karate tournament, then he claim he kick ass? that is the most gayest and most cowardly shit i have ever seen.

  • he fucking scrached him crazy the fuck why would he scrach him???

  • everyone please remember that this is a movie that was "Based" on his life. Not 100% accurate, because in real life Bruce Lee could and had beaten everyone he fought against. lol

The fighting you are seeing is based on Bruce's movie fighting, not what how he actually fought and trained

Nothing can compare to the real Bruce Lee : 3

  • You are sooo wrong.

SEFU Jerry poteet last of the originals trained Jason for this movie.

    All credit to Jerry Poteet.

  • @Colton5 this part is tru though cause on bruce lee book of tao of jeet kwon do

which i had said bruce did spend a coulpe of month's when hewas writing it

  • @Colton5 My favorite teaching of his, was that everyone could beat him. That's why no one ever did. Great ideal to live by.

  • @Colton5 still a good movie though! lol. Best Bruce imitation I've seen, yet.

  • @Colton5 this film is semi-fictionlised. The untrue stuff are to make it more entertaining.

  • @Colton5 yea this is actually what happened just exxagerated a little bit. he did lose fights before one when he was about 16 and this one although the bitch hit him when his back was turned

  • @RoGraves2012 true, he did lose fights, everyone does. But i think at the time of his death he was unbeatable, and just imagine if he would have lived. he could have taught and trained countless others with all the experience he would have gained with age

  • @Colton5 yea when he died he was damn near invincible

  • @Colton5 The real doubt comes in the personality. Was Bruce Lee the kind of guy who had a sense of humor like Jason Scott Lee does, throwing an occasional punch line? I thought that was just the movies as well. But then again, I could be wrong.

  • @Colton5 Bruce Lee broke his back doing "good-mornings" with too much weight

  • @pergatory090 what is that???

  • @Colton5 he never was invincible. He was fucked up, sure, but definitely overestimated.

  • @Colton5 also he never lost this match but it did happen but linda was there watching him. lol

  • @Colton5 I really like Bruce Lee. I'm a fan. But it's an exaggeration to say that nothing could compare to him. He was a man not a Demi-God. Certainly he was good. Btw the actor for this movie Jason Scott Lee trained with an instructor in Jeet Kune Do to mimic Bruce Lee's style of fighting. Movies of course exaggerate what fighters are really capable of but he tried to emulate his style as much as possible and the movies do give us some idea of how Bruce Lee would fight for real.

  • that Johnny Sun is a complete bastard only cowards attack from behind, Bruce Lee is obviously the greater fighter as he apperciates the sanctity of martail arts

  • 3:28 LOL. thats a good way to express your anger in a fight lol

  • Feng Wei vs Marshall Law

  • @IMStr8throwed

marshall would alwalys beat feng wei

  • Did he actually mess his back up as bad as the show it in this movie from the weight? To where he couldn't move at first?

  • I believe so... they thought he'd be paralyzed

  • the best bruce lee imitator

  • Absolutely no question about it. Jason Scott Lee is to Bruce Lee as Robin Shou is for Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat

  • @TheValleylow Very much agreed. That's what I just told this other guy on youtube who posted up a video of another Bruce Lee imitator.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheValleylow By far.

  • @TheValleylow by a huge margin..man...still to this day.. i feel no one has topped jason's portrayal

  • @TheValleylow yeh Jason Scott Lee did a awesome job same phyical look

  • @TheValleylow i disagree i think Brandon lee should have done this movie although this guy did a very good job

  • great movie

  • Jason should have won Best Actor for this.

  • Yeah u r probably right...I mean even though he doesnt look like Bruce in the facial I think he really did an amazing job in portraying the legend that is Bruce Lee...

  • Jason's body here is better than what Brad Pitt ever had.

  • yeah is perfect!... and i hate that hahaha
