@ckneasel I found the stamps at global sugar art 800-420-6088. they are Holly Products made in England and the pattern nivia used is in set 1- small floral pattern shapes. It took me a long time to find the first set of shoes were plain, but I am getting to do them right this month! I would like to find the tiny cutting wheels nivia uses. Haven't been successful in finding them yet.
@lulypeter Thank you. Maybe it has been deleted from Cakecentral. I dont have it in my laptop but I think you could find it online, just google baby shoes template or something like that and go to images. Good luck!
@nitsugahv22 La verdad es que tienes razon! Ese era uno de mis primeros videos. Ahora intento hacerlos de maneras que las personas puedan ver lo que hago :)
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE CAN I GET THE PATTERN FOR THE BABY SHOES? I HAVE A BIRTHDAY PARTY ON MY LITTLE ON AND I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SOME SHOES ON CAKE. YOU DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON THESE SHOES, WONDERFUL, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Hi, I love these booties, they look wonderful! I'm making a christening cake for a friend and would love to make them but can't find the pattern on cake central (have signed up, searched and typed in the link on the video). Do you remember exactly where you found it on there? Thanks!
If you go to cakecentral directly, gallery, scketches and go through them one by one or just right on search baby booties, you will find them because I saw them there not long ago.
Hi Nivia, I was just wondering if you could recommend a website or anywhere that I could get the stamps from? I'm having difficulties finding them and the only shop nearby that has cake decorating accessories is very limited. Thanks
Great Shoes, I tryed then 2 times and find that where the Gum paste meets the sole is really jagged. What can I due??t o make it even like yours. Also, is your snowflake dust the same as Pearl Dust?
First I made the soles, than I cut out the rest of shoe template. It is when I take the shoe part with strap and put it on the glued sole that it does not meet perfectly even. Thats what I mean by rough edges.
mm ok. What I would do is I would try to glue it in place without caring much about the sole, glueing following the top's shape and then cut the excess of the sole. If this does not work for you, try to get the template right by putting the template pieces together and adjusting the sizes.
Hi Nivia, Thanks for the advice on the fondant. Does the same apply for a cake? I was going to put my cake together today using the fondant to cover the cake and then storing it in the fridge until I need it tomorrow. I have chocolate mouse filling and don't want to leave it out. What do you suggest. Thanks again, hope to hear from you today.
Hi Eva. It is the same with a cake. The thing is that conventional frigdes have a lot of condensation so all that is absorbed by the fondant making it stick and even runny. If you do put in the fridge, you will need to bring it to room temperature very slowly, like putting the cake in front of a air-conditioning.
I would advice you to cover the cake like 2 hours before delivery so you know it going to be eaten soon enough.
Thanks for sharing your talent. The shoes are beautiful. Do I need to refrigerate fondant for my shoes to dry? Is your brush wet or dry when using the snowflake powder? I'm making shoes tomorrow for a boy baby shower cake, and am nervous, thanks for posting your video, very helpful. Would love to see more of your work. I'll be viewing this one several times before I attempt my shoes. thanks again, you're very talented.
Hi Eva! Tahnk so much for you comment, lovely words :) I really appreciate it. You must not refrigerate the shoe otherwise it will become sticky because of condensation. Leave in a dark, cool place to dry. My brush is dry but you can add some water to the lustre dust, it would give it more depth.
Hope this helps otherside send me a message :) Good luck!
Thank you for your quick reponse, I appreciate it! You just saved me a pair of shoes (lol), Do you prefer gum paste to fondant? I hope I get the same results as I made a ton of marshmallow fondate the other day. Thank you again!
I use fondant with tylo powder to make it into gumpaste but you can make ony with fondant, although it is a bit trickier to work with and it doesnt dry as hard :)
The best thing to do is to paste the template on your lap top and try to make it bigger by percentage. I dont know which program you would have to use, otherwise you can print the template and take it to a printer shop and ask them to either make the template bigger or smaller for you
I think something was wrong with your homemade gumpaste. I usually buy fondant and add tylose powder. However, I am not quite sure what the reason could apart from the type of gumpaste, sorry!
Great work Nivia! Love the little intro to your daughter - thats why I dont do tutorials yet - the constant interuptions from my 2 little ones would drive me nuts; ) great work again!
Thank you Andrea! I know what you mean. It takes me too long to make a tutorial. I try to do it when the weather is good, so she can play outside while I do it. I would love to add more details to the shoes but my daughter is still very demanding.
You must be even busier than me with two children under 5.
Anyway, even with little ones around, your cakes are awesome!
You need to be very patient! I don't have a lot of time to make my creations even more detailed because of my little one, she quite demanding!
Look at her in the video, touching everything, naughty naughty hahahaha! She even eats my gumpaste, when she sees me working with it, she comes and says cake cake cake! So cute :)
