There was something in Nightfall that simply isn't there in EotN. I think it's because in Nightfall you go against nothing less than a God of almost absolute power that had set things in motion since Prophecies, while in EotN you fight just some ancient fiery creatures. Nightfall had a greater sense of waging war on a continent scale, saving the world from Hell itself, and not to mention the fact you were crossing planes into the Afterlife. It was not the same after it.

I'm so tired of the GW:EN Opening theme.... They should let us chose which one we want playing. I would have Nightfall Hands down. I didn't get into Guild Wars very much when I first started. But then I heard this Theme and I became obsessed! It made you feel like an epic games was waiting for you just after the starting screen.

That's because you hear it everytime you log in, and you get sick of it. the EotN tune has been there since 2007 (when it came out) :D I prefer the factions tune (but that was a really short period of a few months, before nightfall came out)

How in the world does this not suit Guild Wars? It has a very well pronounced overall rhythm to it. It also screams "I am written by Jeremy Soule," who IMO makes some of the best "epic" genre music (Guild wars, Elder Scrolls 3 and 4, etc)

@AxDensity Amen, I always felt that this one had more of an epic or heroic feeling to it. Eotn just sounds to happy to me. And when I listen to it I picture a scene in a movie or something with 3 guys on horse back traveling a desert.

The EotN song is carried through to the GW2 trailer, EotN being the prelude to GW2. We should be able to change the song played at the login screen from between the four games.

The EotN Overture is NOT carrying over into the trailer of GW2...

the GW2 trailer uses many new themes...

And yeah, it throws in the Norn Theme toward the end, but... the game has NORN in it... so of course you would put the NORN theme in it...

I apologize for being so critical, but there are some people going around and saying the GW2 trailer is a revamped EotN overture, and it is FAR from it...

No. That would be racist. Besides, the Norn theme, if regarded only as a Norn theme and not as a part of the general EotN theme, should be in the Norn part of the trailer, right? Well, it begins after the Charr part is almost over.

And I did not say that it was "simply a revamp", I said that it took the best part of it and incorporated that part in the GW2 theme.

The "Norn" part of the EotN theme simply sounds more epic than the rest of it.

Because we all love Jeremy Soule's epic music.
