the problem is that people buy it because of the name and because of the fantasy genre that its linked to. This is because Tolkiens son wants to make some good money. Tolkien never wanted this work to be published. I really love the work. But it isn't fantasy, it isn't even a real book. His son should have just published his father version of the poem, with his fathers words on the myths as introduction, instead of making an entire book out of it and presenting it as something that it isn't

I hear you brother. My only hope in light of this work is that people buy it for the rich legend - not for the name of the author. Although.. with such a big-name author, perhaps more will be drawn to it?
How bout a nice hardback edition of his Beowulf?
