I was very young in the 70's but by all accounts it was worse than the 80's. There were i suppose teething problems in the early years of the thatcher goverment - maybe due to it taking a fair amount of time having to clear up the dreadful mess left before. Did that ever occur to you?

@sabradan Sums it all up really, don't it? You see this kind of thing everywhere, even in my job. I'm a cleaner and the supervisors do fuck all, the managers do even less, we're the ones doing the work. I should be getting a supervisors wage, especially if we're supposed to live in a meritocracy. I know the truth is far from that, but in a fair world i'd be getting paid more due to my increased work load over the lazy fucking managers.
