  • 09:09 I really freaked out when Matt read that one sentence from a letter from this 15-year old. I realized i too get scared of thinking: "What if i'm wrong, what if there IS a God." I'm freaking out because i think i'm indoctrinated when i was a child. Watching these video's from you guys really pull me down to earth, and it feels safe again to be rational. The idea that i am taught to be scared makes me very upset. These video's encourages me to think for myself and be critical. Thanks.

  • So, what the caller is arguing is, this god is going to punish us for being exactly what it created us to be, and that's okay because might makes right.

  • Excellent comparison, Matt :)... And I am amazed that that caller at the end actually freely admitted that he thinks the Mafia boss has the right to break legs. And these are the guys who claim: 'you can't have morality without religion'.

  • I watched this a few times and every time I feel sick. All people need to hear this message and understand how wrong this brainwashing is.

  • "By NATURE we do these things."

Punishing somebody for their nature - about which they can do NOTHING - is ridiculously unfair, as unfair as punishing somebody for being gay or left-handed.

Wait... Xianity DID punish these things, didn't it...

Come to think of it, the concept of Original Sin entails punishment for somebody ELSE'S nature.

"Your grandpa was left-handed, so you're going to jail."

    Fractal FAIL.

  • @JMUDoc What's even more fucked is that God recognizes that punishing humans for their nature is wrong. If you read the story of noah's ark he pretty much says at the end that he won't do anything like that again because it's just in humanity's nature to be sinful. What the fuck? Then why did he flood the earth in the first place? lol.

  • The Dillslap.

  • If god is a mafia boss, the apologists are the slimy defense attorneys who come to court with slicked back hair and a shark-toothed smile. They're not out to get to the truth, they're only out to defend their client by saying anything to make him look "not guilty," no matter how insane or idiotic. Why? Because they believe that that's the only way they will be paid. Sick fucks.

  • @flamerod169 You are right! And most of them are paid really well (see f.e: Vatican)!

  • There is no correlation between a blood sacrifice and forgiving anyone of his/her sins.

If it works it's only because god would want it to work, and if that's the case he could just forgive without the need for a sacrifice.

And if it was true forgiveness and not just a half-assed loophole then there would be no judgement either because ALL IS FORGIVEN.

This story just doesn't work, on several levels.

That's my take on it anyway.

  • That flying spaghetti monster picture is making me hungry...

  • God knew from the beginning that we would become sinful, but did nothing to prevent us from eating the fruit. Then again, why would you even consider creating a Tree of Knowledge in the first place?! What purpose could it have possibly served? The fucker set us up. What an ass. The Gods of the Greek Pantheon weren't even that stupidly evil.

  • @manazoa

"... why would you even consider creating a Tree of Knowledge in the first place?!"

The only reason would be to tempt Adam and Eve. There's a word for this in legal circles: entrapment. This case would be thrown out of court.

  • "I can feel the emotional force of your objections"

Jesus Christ, what a condescending prick...

  • I been thinking about this how can God accept the death of Jesus(an innocent person) over punishing the criminals themselves? God sent his son to please himself by sacrificing himself to himself for the crimes criminals themselves commit. An absolutely arbitrary system set up by God.

  • "The mafia boss has every right to break my legs..."

He could either concede that his system is immoral, or do what he did and plough through for consistency. He ended up looking like a lying, hypocritical idiot, but at least he was consistent...

If god is allowed to judge us based solely on the fact that he has the power to do so, his judgements have no moral basis. In any case, he *killed everybody in the world in Genesis - he's a prick.

    *(allegedly)

  • @vycaso

When I hear the biblical story I always think about how god has such a high failure rate. if only 1/3 of people are christians that means 2/3 of people are going to hell.

I would expect a powerful god to be better at converting people and that's why I don't believe.

  • @2point7etc I see your point but be careful not to fall for the "appeal to the people" falacy. Even if 100% of the world was christian (or jew, muslim, whatever), that would STILL not mean anything about the truth of the claim that their god exists. In the past, almost 100% of the people would agree to the claim that the Earth was flat.

Not a theist myself, just pointing out. :)

  • @pabloalmeidaff9

Very true. I don't think I'm making the fallacy though because I'm comparing what I think we ought to expect if X was true to the real world and the there is a difference.

    Thanks for the comment =)

  • Really loved the "God, the mafia boss" youtube restoration! So fitting and funny!

  • Part about the life preserver, laughed pretty hard.

  • Haven't read every comment so may be repeating somebody.

One detail omitted from Matt's mafia boss analogy is that Don Jehovah is infinitely rich. When he drops by demanding his protection money, it's money that he can never have any use for. He's shaking you down for your $100 a week despite having fifty-leven gajillion dollars in offshore accounts. He doesn't even have the flimsy excuse a human mafioso might use of needing your money to pay for mistresses, mansions, or drugs.

  • Obviously John's god does not care about justice for the victims of crimes. I don't see love there, only contempt.

  • Insightful stuff from Dillahunty, and it's like keep going let all religious nuts hear this.

  • I really can't fathom the statement the caller made... that the mafia boss DOES have the right to break your legs? What the fuck? Seriously?

  • @CallMeRiverton I think he was getting desperate.

  • @dymchurch1 I just don't understand how a person with half a brain cell can say something like that!

  • "Oh bullshit!" lol I'd say that sums up the callers entire arguement.

  • I love the life preserver comparison.

God invites everyone onto his boat, one or two of the people aboard gets in a minor dispute with God. So God throws everyone into the ocean, and will only let them back on if they do everything he says for the rest of their lives.

It's worse than that really, because God made us as flawed beings. So it's kinda like inviting a whole bunch of flatulent people onto the boat, then getting offended and chucking them overboard when one farts.

  • @EmperorZ19 Hahahahaha

  • @EmperorZ19 I like your analogy except I would add that god throws them into the ocean with cement shoes on.

  • I'm god, here is my gun, now LOVE ME MOTHER FUCKER OR I'LL BLOW YOUR FUCK'n HEAD OFF! oh... and suck the dicks of my earthly representatives.

  • Listening to the caller makes me want to pull my hair out. He cannot understand the simplest concept.

  • Matt raving = awesome

  • if were created in gods image and he loves us then why do we morally object to fuckin everything in the bible and why is it such a damn chore for us to join his club? :P

  • I do not understand these fundamentalist Christians. To believe in a god is one thing, but to defend all this immoral crap, and then have the guts to ask us atheists where we get our morals, I mean these people are really fucked up.

  • @dutchbb1979 Or they are "Roman Christians"-just using a fucked up version of Jesus's teachings and life to control the masses- hypocrytes! Of course both can be true -a really fucked up "Roman-Christian" hypocrite!

  • 07:17 "According to the bible god basically chunks everybody into the pool and said i got a life preserver, anybody want to not drown." That is Epic!

  • To the kid from the mail and anyone like him:

If the dogma is true reality will support it, and you will have stronger conviction, and be rewarded for it. If there is no evidence for the dogma than the dogma is wrong, including the part about the punishment. Either way, there will be no torture. Either way there is no reason for fear.

The truth will set you free.

    Peace

  • @akylae101 "Either way, there will be no torture. Either way there is no reason for fear."

Unless of course you wish to take into consideration such lovely examples of religious tolerance and love in human history like the inquisition, or shooting abortion providers dead, or bombing clinics or adherents of other faiths.... suddenly there seems like a whole lot to fear.

I don't think there is a benign way to believe lies.....

  • @moopism

    Indeed there isn't.

What I'm saying is if you're a believer you can question faith without fear of hell. What other people might do to you is another issue all together.

    Peace

  • @akylae101 I agree with you that questioning your faith leaves you in no danger of eternal damnation.

  • God sacrificed himself to himself to save the world from himself.

  • @InYourFaceNewYorker

    Talk about grandiosity.

  • I always felt that animals got the long end of the stick. They get to eat, sleep, shit and fuck and when they die they don't Have to worry about burning for all eternity. Kinda bullshit if you ask me. Obviously this only applies to religions who believe that a "god" would create such a place which is also bullshit in my eyes.

  • I want to thank you guys for what you do.

  • After 6:36 I started laughing uncontrollably the whole rest of the video ROFLROFL this guy is so hilariously logical

  • Matt is the master of pwnage. 'Nuff said.

  • Snoop said: Paid the price to be the boss...!!!!

  • I'm atheist, but i go to church with my gf for shits and giggles. Tonight they were saying, in a nutshell ofc, that if you don't accept god, you will rot and die. "rot and die" was what the pastor said LOL. i find it quite funny.

  • Another point to note with regards to the mafia boss analogy (which is spot on!) is we are supposedly given this gift of life by god, and the only choice we have is to accept it, for Christians say a rejection of life (suicide) is a ticket to hell. So we really have no choice in the matter.

  • I like the background. X3

  • God is much worse than a mafia boss. I used to belong to an ultra fundamentalist pentecostal church. Speaking in tongues and all that crazy stuff. I was scared stiff of Hell of which was described in excruciating detail. If I sinned and didn't ask for forgiveness i could die and go to this choking sulphur nightmare for eternity. Yet God is a loving god and if I went to hell it was my fault.

Anyway I eventually rejected god, any god. Love your show.

  • If your God is a ruthless dictator as John tries to advocate. According to the Bible, which I have plenty of fundamentalist Christians have confirmed, that with God it's obey me or die, no other choice. Now how is that suppose to be an all loving father? In my opinion is God is no better then Stalin who basically or the Big Brother from 1984.

If this is your God then he is a worthless useless asshole that deserves neither praise or love

  • @rubenruben08

    he's not Matt.....

  • Great rant!

  • 5:00 killing someone who is completely innocent to compensate for the crimes that someone else did" 5:16 "plus its absurd this ideal of blood sacrifice" Jesus took on mankinds sins. When Jesus was whipped, beatin, punched, kicked, nailed to the cross and then died it was from a mans sins. People are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ sacrifice and are cleanse of their sins. These athiest are sinning already and don't know it by winning souls to Satan. Hopefully they accept the truth.

  • @vycaso that is completely absurd.

  • @vycaso That is only relivent if you already believe.

  • 2:47 "in need of redemption before they were born" God knew that you would sin before you were born. God sent you into the world, a world of sin hoping that one day you find God again by redeeming yourself through Jesus Christ to be forgiven of the sins, then to be used by God in a sinful world to win people for christ and to establish his heavenly kingdom on earth.

  • @vycaso So according to you, God created me and forced me to sin but I must repent for these sins, which as a baby I haven't commited yet but I'm born with sin even though I haven't sinned, but I'm going to sin because he made me to sin but it's bad to sin so I need to pour water on my head to be saved.

    Makes perfect sense!

  • @richardtheconquerer Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge in Genesis which God told them not to eat from the tree which gave birth to good and evil and to a sinful world. So we came into the world as born sinners, sinning in the eyes of God which Gods holds mankind accountable. But don't worry Jesus came to the world as mankinds savior and its through him that we call out his name and believe with our whole hearts that he is the son of God, died and risen in three days we are saved.

  • @vycaso Also the bible claims God is all knowing and all powerful right? So, when he put that stupid tree there, he already knew what Adam and Eve would do. Just like if God supposedly created me (which I actually do believe if some form of god, just not the one in the bible cause he sounds insane and irrational) he already knows ahead of time whether I will believe. I did not "sin" just because someone else did. That's stupid.

  • @richardtheconquerer Don't believe these two people because these two people will end up going to hell if they don't accept Gods free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Its simple man pray to God and ask Jesus to come into your heart but believe in your whole heart that Jesus Christ is the son of God who died on the cross and was risen in three days do this and all your sins will be forgiven and you go to heaven its that simple.

  • @vycaso Maybe I did pray to Jesus and he told me that Christianity is a scam and the devil's work. Oddly, he specifically mentioned the screen name on youtube of "vycaso" then Jesus told me a funny joke. That Jesus, such a jokester. I asked him if it was lunacy to punish people for all eternity simply because they didn't believe, and he said "Haha is that what they're saying? Buncha dipshits."

  • @vycaso FREE GIFT?!

  • 1:00 how can you agree with someone for the sake of argument.

  • @Bobselete To show that even granting their premise, you can still prove them wrong. It shows the opponent he has not proven his premise yet, but arguing about it is not in your interest so for this discussion only, you are willing to accept the point because it will lead to a better discussion that you're confident you can win. For example you could agree for the sake of arguments with the existance of god even though you're an atheist, because discussing his morality would be a better debate.

  • "by nature, we do this things" , so the supposed deity created us that way and then it blame us for acting that way using its own rules.. what a perverse dick..

  • this video and this show is awesome, the only problem is that the people who are calling dont really understand the bible and still call. Maybe a theologian should call.

also, maybe someone should discuss about a possibility that ANOTHER God exists, not the one in the bible, but one who created the universe and has different personality(maybe he doesnt exist either, but who knows)...

  • 3 people believe that zombies walked the Earth 2000 years ago

  • Matt please write a book about your view on religion in 2010. I love how you can explain crystal clear to people why they are wrong lol.

You could be the American Richard Dawkins.

  • @CMETRIQUE

Read Sam Harris' "The End of Faith" and "Letter to a Christian Nation". (And Bertrand Russell too).

  • "And I explained to him that if I had a 9 month old, I don't care if it's born without limbs, when I look at that child I'm gonna say that child is perfect"

    Tracie rocks.

  • 2 some people God is like your parent, you don't get to decide who your parents are... "The Bible states that God will judge unbelievers based upon a special set of books." God or perhaps occultists w/ plenty of free time on their hands have made things so that ALL will see the judgements as fair and just; if your names in the Book of Life (I guess that means being "saved") your judgement will only be based on one of the other books (works: deeds), many different other beliefs let us not forget

  • @nahitini

    You high?

  • the idea is that if you become a murderer and than accept this "God" and let them guide you torwards goodness that's like repenting, so that's like a level up from just either keep harming or getting on w/out God's guidance or some semblance to it, total purity (involing sharing and caring and hugging and all that), so many contradictions, maybe there's a God and it's just been misinterperted or never documented, needs some order so it can create,

  • I think the concept of "hell" is absurd, there were like 8 ppl saved in Noah's flood, this is were reincarnation comes in (and makes it beautiful) because God does stuff or allows it to happen to seperate the wheat from the chaff, and then of course repulsive because ppl will use it as an excuse as "do as thou wilt", but I think in terms of mafia talk it's like "do whatever you want, i dare ya"... God in Islam & Christianity seems to thrive on belief and requires your fear (in a good way?)

  • Religion is not about morality; it's about belief and non-belief...that's it!

If you believe, you go to heaven. If you don't, you go to hell.

God only wants you to believe in him. He doesn't care if you're a moral human-being.

  • It's total question begging. God's behavior is moral because he's God, and God defines morality. At most, the caller could've argued that God is moral from his own perspective, but that doesn't mean he's moral from ours. The mafia-boss comparison is spot on. God is breathtakingly cruel. He created us and Hell knowing full well that we'd fuck up and go there, and for the terrible crime of not realizing he exists! If that's not twisted and barbaric, I don't know what is. God is a real dick.

  • @dookdawg214 god is moral by definition, a circular definition. and by no other way.

  • @dookdawg214

Absolutely right. But even more so: he sets us up "for the terrible crime of not realizing he exists" by hiding out and giving us no credible evidence to think that he does exist. It's like being on "double secret probation" in Animal House, only 9783652038927765528994598727232 times worse.

  • @dookdawg214 So here's a scary though. Suppose God was a real person himself on a planet much like ours in a differen't universe. He was an asshole his whole life, but he was a believer in his god, and was saved. He dies, goes to heaven, and as a reward, God the Father creates our universe and and this asshole is now OUR GOD. So even though his is a contridicting immoral dick, he is still our god, and has created rules for us to live by based on HIS SICK MORALS. Cont.

  • @TomsFriendKake Imagine for a min. that is the case, and people that make it to heaven are given new universes or solar systems to govern. People like Pat Robertson, as dimented as he is, would be by Gods standard saved. Then Pat Robertson goes on to govern, as a God, a whole new plant of people, and makes rules for them, judges them, and rewards them based on HIS own SICK morals. Now that is a SCARY THOUGHT!

  • @dookdawg214 God having a different moral structure then humans shouldn't be any different then saying that I have a different moral structure then Hitler. One we can judge as bad and one we can judge as, at least, better.

  • When i was 5, My grandmother got me baptised. I had no idea what was going on. as luck would have it neither did my mother, and when we flew back to the Netherlands from our vacation to Macedonia, the indoctrination could not continue because the entire length of europe was between me and my religiously minded family members.Ten years later i read the bible, and i was like "Dude, Grandma, Seriously? is this really what that was about? Heck no."

Looking back i coulda been that 15 year old...

  • one of my favorite shows ever

  • My wife and I have been nurses for over 20yrs.We met in nursing school.I was on chemotherapy from 2002-2004.(my disease is in remission). My wife is battling breast Ca. at this time.People at work all want to pray for us.What a croc of shit.

Do you religious nut cases think we deserve Cancer?I have done nothing but

care for people and keep them alive for my entire adult career .Insanity/stupidity/

and ignorance.(Bet you religious types are saying I'm mad at God).

  • @rickuj I hope you both make a speedy recovery. It was cancer that made me question whether there was a god or not when I was 13 (now 32). I began to question because I not only found it hard to swallow that god had created cancer and taken my grandad, but on top of this I was supposed to worship him for it?

I'm glad I opened my mind to things at that young age, I'm just really sorry about the circumstances that started it.

  • NO NO NO NO NO YOURE DONE

  • Previosly on Atheist Experience ..

m.. ..it was like 9 seconds ago

do you realy need to remind me what was in part 1

  • This caller is an idiot that dodges questions when he knows the answer is gonna make him think about how stupid his beliefs are.

  • by the end the caller simply didn't get it

  • This clip is probably the best one I've heard from The Atheist Experience. It sums up everything that I hold against Christianity.

  • All of these words (right, wrong, good, bad, deserve, justice, etc.) are defined arbitrarily. There's no reason to think that one definition is objectively and unconditionally better than any other, including any definition a god might come up with.

  • The purpose of life is determined by ourselves not by any religion or any supernatural fantasy...

  • While millions of women and children are raped everyday on this planet, God watches them and does nothing. I think he masturbates, as he is a rapist himself..

Creationists must prove the opposite, i.e., he exists and he does not want women/children be raped. Need evidence!!! Don't talk bullshit you creationist!!!!

You guys know to whom I am talking....

  • The black and white version of the videos look much better to me.

  • Caller rightfully destroyed.

  • Yeah, I went through that fear before finally letting go of the religious crap. It was knowledge that overcame my fear.

  • haha, love the editing

  • Their arguments are false, their theology is false, their philosophy is false!

    Thank God I'm not atheist!

What I do not understand is how...? how did they established the initial premise? that is good and evil, for having a standard to judge on God?

  • @VyckRo Lol, thinking that your morals come from your bible.

  • @NathanWubs that's pathetic.

  • @supersmash43 what is laughing at her for thinking she is following something that she is not?

  • I love Tracie's speech. It's extremely refreshing to hear.

  • 6:05 HERE IT COMES!!! HAHAHAH

  • The caller says "We all break some kind of moral standard". What moral standard? Whose moral standard? "By nature we do those things".

He is constantly implying that there is a god, who has set moral standards, that by nature we are 'sinners' because of the 'original sin'. All this is poppycock!

It's true that his religion has polluted the caller's brain!

This indoctrination is definitely not harmless, as the example with the 15 year old boy shows.

    Fav'ed

  • I like the "Life Preserver" analogy! If God does exist, he can't be how people describe him, he has to have more compassion!

I don't appreciate this little game of "All you have to do is Believe (without any proof), follow all the rules that are impossible to follow, & you better be perfect even though humans are the most flawed species on the planet!" P.S. "I Love You!"

I honestly know how if I still believe or not but it's definitely a FAIRY TALE & "Heaven" is the "Happily Ever After!"

  • @Lilart1981 "If God does exist, he can't be how people describe him, he has to have more compassion!" Why?

  • @Macrochenia Well according to the VERY CONFUSING duality he's supposed to be the "Good God!" It's just a contradiction that he's so full of Love but he does such hateful things!

It also kills me that the "Good God" is the one we're supposed to follow but most people follow the other God (Devil)!

I'm honestly on the fence about the existence of God cause that's what I've been taught my whole life but the older I get the further away i'm pushed!

I THINK God is good is better!

  • @Lilart1981 ALL gods are made in the image of man! Can I prove this? NO can you disprove it? NO oh well, until someone can provide me empirical evidence in favor of the existence of a super natural deity I hold to god mad in man's image!

  • @Macrochenia

Lilart meant any being even remotely worthy of being labelled a "god" would have to be far more (infinitely more) loving, moral, just, caring, compassionate, etc. than the god the christians believe in. The christian god, as Matt says, is a dick. (I'd need to be able to highlight "dick" there and put it in point size 8737265648494923782748348923 to give it sufficient emphasis, but I can't.)

  • @leisulin I disagree. I find it equally likely that any god that did somehow actually exist might turn out to be a cruel and malicious being like Surtr or Moloch instead of a kindly benevolent one.

  • @Macrochenia

Well, if you'd still call an evil god a "god" then maybe. But the term seems to carry with it, usually, the idea of a perfected being, and I wouldn't consider any being that would knowingly do evil to be perfected.

If the universe truly WERE governed by the god of the christians, the Mafia Boss god (and I don't think it is), then it would be the case that it is ruled by the kind of god you are talking about.

  • @leisulin The term "god" refers to a being of great power. There's nothing in the definition that actually requires benevolence. Now, I'd certainly prefer to find out that the universe was ruled by a cosmic hippy rather than Cthulhu, but there's no more evidence to support it. (It goes without saying that there's no evidence to support that there's any god at all)

  • One of the greatest, most beautiful Dillahunty speeches

  • John is a fucking moron.

  • Christians are dumb. I can think whatever 'bad' thoughts I want, I can imagine doing any atrocity and still be absolutely innocent of any moral crime becaus eI haven't fucking harmed anyone by thinking thoughts in my own head. For an act to be immoral it must harm another human being, so no, a pedophile, rapist, or murderer is NOT equal in wrongs to the average person, PERIOD.

    Matt rocks.

  • @MetalCatharsis

Conversely, in our totally fucked up penal system, if somebody tries their damnedest to kill another person, but the other person somehow survives, that is treated as a considerably lesser crime than if the person actually dies. They should be equivalent, because it's the intent of the act that was important, not the result. Example: a stalker-fan of actress Theresa Saldana stabs her a gazillion times, but she somehow survives. He only gets a couple of years in prison....

  • @leisulin Actually, I'd have to say that the most fucked up thing about our penal system is that it's still about punishment rather than rehabilitation, despite the mountains of evidence against the effectiveness of such a design.

  • By far one of your best shows! Way to stick up for us. I'm glad I'm not alone in this mad world.

  • 5:45- "The mafia boss has every right to break your legs" OMG, might makes right? No wonder the world is so screwed up. Most of the world believes that the God described in the old testament is the one true God and this is the God that this particular theist believes in. What a morally reprehensible theology to the core. What else can be the result of belief in a morally reprehensible theology but morally reprehensible actions.

  • I can't see why more people don't see this kind of religion as mentally abusive. The caller even admitted that the' bad' things we do (eg think bad thoughts) are in our nature. So basically, god created us with a nature that is fundamentally bad and imperfect, then expects us to be perfect and when we are not, get down on our knees and beg for forgiveness. This kind of story, taken seriously, creates a constant state of self-worthlessness. It's actually pretty terrifying.

  • Ahh THAT WAS GREAT! Matt's rant was the bestest.

  • Great vid :)

  • tell em Matt!

  • The music in the opening is so funny when applied to religion =))

  • When I was a child and a minor I was afraid that thoughts about christianity being false would be something "god" would be very angry about.

I dared not think about anything else than I was fed with.

"God" could read my mind and the worst thing you could be was a believer gone non believer.

It teared own my self confidence. And it has repercussions even today as a 33year old.

It is like a mindfuck of a child.

Not deliberate. But out of fear and what is best for the child.

    I dare to think though.

  • @peope1976

Well, now you have a chance to rid your own kids of this nuisance.

It all works out if you keep your head on.

  • Symbolic misinterpretation of the bible is the most common mistake made by an amateur.

  • @HigherPlanes lol. Calling matt and amateur is funny.

  • @NathanWubs I didn't call anyone in particular an amateur, you just put two and two together. :)

  • @HigherPlanes Derp derp derp.

You were directing it at someone. So tell me who you were directing it at and why.

  • @NathanWubs I was making a general true statement- that the biggest mistakes amateurs make is misinterpret the bible symbolically. Is Matt doing that? Draw your own conclusions.

  • @HigherPlanes Well, nope. No one is doing that in this video. I will press you this, do not forget that Matt became an atheist while he was in theology school. He probably knows more about the bible and interpretations of that sort then you. Well at least of the average christians, but it seems you are posing as an expert.

Please explain judges 11 to me.

  • @NathanWubs By no means am I an expert on the bible. I have a masters degree in BS though.

  • "by nature we do these things"....yes, the nature that God supposedly created. By his reasoning, we were made purposefully "guilty". I get frustrated by the illogical minds of some. Good show guys!

  • christian fanboys are wayyyyy worse then WoW fanboys =/

  • @Flem1337 Honestly, I can't tell the difference.

  • holy shit that caller got totally pwned. it seriously got to the point where he had to say that a mafia boss has every right to break your legs if you dont give him what he wants.

  • It's hard to believe a man of Matt's intelligence and insight was once a fundamentalist Christian.

  • @sweetsweatyfeet What's hard to believe is that some men of his intelligence and insight still are.

  • I've been watching this program for 2 years. Never has a caller made a good argument that Matt couldn't destroy. Everything Matt has ever said rings of pure truth.

  • @baxtar1963 i've noticed that too.they get every single time, and keep coming back for more...i guess they're just gluttons for punishment.

  • @baxtar1963 i've noticed that too.they get owned every single time, and keep coming back for more...i guess they're just gluttons for punishment.

  • @baxtar1963 Absolutely. Reason overcomes this superstitious nonsense any day. : )

  • Now i know why Matt has no hair LOL (stress)

  • "I'm saying the mafia boss has every right to break your legs but he doesn't."

You ARE done. You could NOT be more done.

  • If I weren't brainwashed in fear when I was a kid, I would've probably always called myself a non-believer. I used to lie to myself and to others that I was a Christian because I feared that God was hearing me all the time and if he knew that I didn't believe in him anymore, I would be damned for all eternity. How can preachers and Religious parents go to bed with a clean conscience knowing what a cruel and evil thing they're doing to innocent helpless kids?

  • 5:22 "...sacrifice himself, to himself, as a loophole for rules that he created that were unjust...". Fantastic.

  • @BaconNCream

Unless a divine painter can create WHATEVER "art" he wishes...what of creation can tell him what not to create?

  • Jesus made me an offer ... and I refused.

  • A book like the bible can make you smarter but only if you are not naive enough to take it literally. As a race we are very immature still, a bunch of kittens not ready to face our ultimate fear of death. We seek comfort in a promise of the afterlife, just as long as we are obedient and go to church every Sunday. Pathetic state of being, lying to ourselves and pretending like we actually know what happens when we die. We don't know shit which is more like nothing happens, we just die.

  • BRAVO i loved the ant analogy.

  • @PlanosLie so.....fuck your god and his asinine, arbitrary, vindictive, nonsensical rules.

  • @PlanosLie You just broke my moral law, you blasphemed me, stolen from me, murdered me, lied to me and embezzled from me! Do you think I now have the right to break your legs?

  • @1aaronaaron1

You have the right to punish me according to most laws in most countries. What's your point? I'm not sure I'm getting it.

  • @PlanosLie No I don't, I don't get to make up a moral law and the punishments I can inflict if I decide someone breaks it. I don't think any countries work that way and if they do I would argue they are not just.
