This is what you call music, not the americanised nonsense we get today in naija. A proper musical band with real instruments mixed with great tunes that relate to our culture.
Love the hell outta Bright Chimezie. What a happy go lucky type dude. Damn, it's really scary to take a pause and realize how extinct stuff like his has become. Still with ppl like codewit the saga never dies. Carry on tradition.........

ojo49 chimezi is a true correct man. Do you know that he was an excustom officer? I love him. Sir worrior really made mistake by trators and he wanted too much and as such left his bothers danstch, ichita and kabaka and took outside musicians. Sir worrio was a talented singer dansatch a compsoer, made him their singer but they were disappointed about his behavours in their group. Dansatch did not say it out but they were feeing bad and later they splited. Ar'nt they ibos? We have no love in us.
your country's ineptness is akin to malaria. one out of every four african is a nigerian, a crappy, scum bag ridden nation. the colonialist now commands respect
Many who used to dance to this song, dance no more! Six feet under the ground they are now. How time flies, and people change. Time and tide come and go. What a world!

Bright Chimezie (born 10 January 1960), also known as Okoro Junior, is an Nigerian Igbo highlife musician originally from Ekeoba, Ohuhu, Umuahia, Abia State of Nigeria. His type of music, popularly known as zzigima, became widely available in Nigeria from the early 80s.
Wait a minute, it was Dr Sir Warrior that was peddling drug to china and was caught and given an option of either jail or an injection. He opted for the latter and was never the same again. I would know, because he is from my compound in Enyiogugu, Imo State
@Michaelosinachi@ your assertions are false. China does not inject drug peddlers...you will be executed in a Chinese prison...China will never inject a person and set them on their way...In-fact, no country in the world does that. You are privy to the internet, do your research...I have been to China tons.
Yup this is a classic. My 'lil sister likes this dude, she wont shut up about his eyes for some reason lol. @ nemmank: na true say him carry drugs? Which country dem for catch am? I been no know say my guy try huzzle drugs
Oh, I didn't know he's still alive, some guy posted on here that he was caught up on some drug scandals and was killed, I don't know how credible that info was. But thanks for the update though.
Thanks Codewit. I can be at home even while in foreign land. Does anyone has Bright's music about onyigbo? I cant recall the title, but the one he ask " Okoro Jnr, what is onyigbo?"
It's very fortunate that we have Bright Chimezie as a bridge between old highlife-ikworikwo music and the present. There is so much vigour to his music and even much more foresight and sophistication of form, considering that he's been in the profession now for several decades. His real contemporaries are long since gone from the scene, but "Okoro Boy" is so evergreen! Please post his 1986 song with the refrain "Okoro yeah, okoro", if anyone has it. This is fine music!

Really i`m not an Igbo guy, but to be sincere i really like this, especially this track me and my guys back then we used to sing this song despite we a Yoruba guys. But i don`t know where is this guy again. Before i left nigeria i never heard anything about him. Can someone tell me if this man is still singing?
I like this song , thats' what we here experience sometimes . In oversea if u made the mistake of telling someone I will kill u will be arrested and send to jail . unlike nigeria u tell someone I would kill its' means alot of things in the nigerian world .
Can someone PLEASE post 'respect Africa' by this guy? Just as sweet mother defined prince nico so did that song define Bright chimezie aka okoro junior

I had never heard of this song until now; when was it made? His story is very comical and I have laughed myself to fatigue.
He is old school-- he used middle-aged dancing buxom babes, instead of the anorexic eyesores of these days. His music sounds Congolese, so do: his dancing, his stature, and his mannerism. Are those musicians Congolese?
This is a great music, a great talent, and a very captivating performance in all. Is this fellow still making music?
Police eee Police eee, he's committing suicide, the black wey dey here is committing suicide o. This was the jam back in the day! I love youtube mehn!
whaww .this song reminds me of the good old days when i was just five. i usually danced to this music. although i didn't understand what he was saying.
God bless u my brother for this home reminder!!. Most times in this western world while struggling to establish a reasonable and acceptable identity, one tend to forget the Good Old days. I just remembered running around the house and playing all the little pranks boys play those days while Bright's beautiful music played in background from daddy's radio set tuned to the then ABS Radio 2 Onitsha. Loved it!!! Keep it coming.
Policeeeee....The black man here is trying to commit suicide! LOL!!! I love Bright Chimezie.

God bless u my brother for this home reminder!!. Most times in this western world while struggling to establish a reasonable and acceptable identity, one tend to forget the Good Old days. I just remembered running around the house and playing all the little pranks boys play those days while Bright's beautiful music played in background from daddy's radio set tuned to the then ABS Radio 2 Onitsha. Loved it!!! Keep it coming.
