Timmy Regisford,Merlin Bobb, Bobby Konders, Naeem Johnson, Kenny Carpenter, John Robinson and for a short time in 1996, Joe Clausell .. plus back i the day guest mixes from David Morales, Dave Shaw, Freddy Sanon...etc
I loved those mixes back in th day..Timmy Regisford and Merlin Bobb were on BLS and Humphries was on KISS...Naeem Johnson started mixing on BLS a little later...Believe or not I still have tapes from back then when I was recording the mixes.
Can someone SELL me a copy of the tribute to PARADISE GARAGE,that WBLS did like a week after it closed.THAT! was a HOT show that night.I had the tape but my sisters would go in my room take tapes at will, thinking i took one of theirs! I had commercials on it and everything!!! i really miss CLUB ZANZIBAR & PARADISE GARAGE. OH ALSO...I have something else to barter, along with paying, but its only for true HOUSE HEADS. I gave a copy B4 & they tried to sell it downtown NEWARK.
The earliest mixes on Wbls were from the Crisco Disco, which Frankie Crocker used to produce in the late 1970s.The others were done by Ted Currier (1980),Bobby D & Phil Silverman(81),Jonathan Ferring(81-82),Sergio Munzibai(82),Tee Scott(83).Even Shep Pettibone did uncredited mixes for Frankie Crocker in the early 80s.
pull up merlin bobb mixes and click onto house music archives. You will see many of his mix shows. This one should be in 1987. You'll find it. They got All the BLS and Kiss mastermixes as well as Chicago, Detroit, and Japan mixes...Its a treasure chest bigtime!!
@frankiecrocker There were many Timmy Regisford, Bobby Kondors, I think Tony Humphries was there then later moved to kiss during the 80's, Merlin Bobb, Kenny Carpenter. But to this date the greatest team of mixers was on 98.7 kiss. mastermix created by Shep Pettibone and then later taken to the next level by My man "Tony Humphries"
107.5 W B L Ssssss master master master mixxxxxxxxx. oh I miss real radio. Rip Frankie Crocker. Give me a Marly Marl and a Mr Magic Rap attack any night and Merlin Bob on the oneeeee and twoooooo
You know it man. That was exactly how it sounded on the radio. I sure miss those days. With sooooo much demand for old school music and mixing, why don't the radios oblige????
