@imunchienandalusia The name of the song is "Sax Maniac". He goes by James Chance and the Contortions too. I own his box set "Irresistible Impulse" and a studio version of Sax Maniac is on the 3rd disk.

Wikipedia reveals the original soundtrack for the film was lost. So... for example? Jean-Paul's vvoice was dubbed by someone else.
Is the whole thing re-constructed? I thought "no way" ...now it's not so implausible.

I read somewhere that Saul Williams rerecorded Basquiat's lines. The soundtrack/dialogue might have been lost but the music's still there at least!

yeah Saul Williams redid Jeans voice, luckily they sound quite alike. Saul did a great job too.

@avs002 They lost the voice-over audio. Jean's voice in narration was done by Saul Williams.
