Same thing is taught as well in Dominic O'brian book, 'how to have a perfect memory', It revolves around using extensively your imagination, like if you want to recall a chess set imagine the king and queen coming alive and the king is having his a## kicked, the stranger the idea, is the more it got a chance to stick in your head .

This is one of the techniques I learned in Kevin Trudeau's Mega Memory program 5 yrs ago, which pen and paper is prohibited to be used in his program. LOVE THE PROGRAM!... =)

Theres a new way dunno if you have heard of it where you got a room = R (x)

with objects say numbers 1-10 - X

so in room 3 theres object 6 which is a lemon

= sour so R36S = Room three object 6 lemon ppl can memorise lots of things like this if you finding it hard make a story I live in room 3 part 6 its sour :P

this is a theory by a Psychologist and university lecturer, Dr. Michael Guneberg - it's called Peg-word system, we were learning about it in my Psy class :) it is a good technique
