Amazing game! I remember this commercial in English, as well as the many months of coverage Nintendo Power gave to it back in 93 and 94. It was a great way to build up interest back when RPGs were still kinda niche, and it ended up being a defining game for the SNES.

Commercial was terrible, the Secret of Mana is easily one of the greatest games of all time. If you have a Nintendo Wii, buy Secret of Mana! It's a game where once you start playing, you do not want to put the controller down.

I'm pretty sure there was an American version of a Secret of Mana commercial, it might have even been the same as this one but in English. Although, I can't seem to find it anywhere on YouTube. It probably played around 1996, and I remember at the end they said in Japanese, "SHINHATSUBAI!" and that part really stuck out. Anyone else remember this?

@TSavs98 Lol Its Not King Arthur and the sword in the stone. I just beat secret of mana on my wii. You pull the sword from a tree stump, and at the end of the game you put it back into a tree stump. If you think its a stone you need a bigger screen, Everything about the mana tribe is trees. The Mana tribes women become the mana tree. Mana Magic comes from dryad in the game a tree. So is it that far off that the Mana tribe mana knight (your dad) put the sword in a tree stump?

@hidingtrees ummm you should probably look at it look around the pool of water what do you see? a bunch of rocks, they are all rocks surrounding the pool of water, you pull the sword out of a rock, not a tree stump. and by saying that the mana tribe is all about trees, you are mistaken, the mana tree is the embodyment of the mana goddess and all mana stems from it, dryad itself isnt the source of mana, the mana goddess (or the tree) is dryad is just the closest elemental sprite to the tree.

Legend wasn't bad, but it didn't feel like it was going anywhere, and lost a lot of appeal for it.

Secret of Mana 2 was good, and shares the most similarities.

You're right though, Secret of Mana was the best one. Nothing they do now will compare.

Part of it's because Secret of Mana was a great game, but you also can't beat nostalgia.

So much for that Mana project Square was doing though. The DS and the PS2 games were utter trash.
