  • I haven't watched the evening news very much since Peter's death. In my opinion, he was - quite simply -- the absolute best. I miss him and his intelligent, thoughtful reporting in addition to the way he helped those of us 'ordinary' people understand world events that didn't always make sense.

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe after you give this This clip aired on the final day that the honored ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings ever appeared again on television

  • I Really Like The Video From Your This clip aired on the final day that the honored ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings ever appeared again on television

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing This clip aired on the final day that the honored ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings ever appeared again on television

  • Oh my God he was such a good man...my step mom died of lung cancer..they gave her 6 months to live and she lived 7 days of those 6 months.....I quit smoking on one of the worse days of my life so I'd know I could handle anything without a cigarette ....that was 1988. If Peter had told himself not even 9/11 can made me smoke he may still be alive. Seeing someone you love die and of lung cancer is something you never want to see not even once.

  • I don't know what made me think of Peter Jennings today. he was just on my mind. R.I.P.

  • RIP Peter!!

  • Peter Jennings was my favorite news anchor. RIP.

  • The hoarse voice means that the tumor in the apex of his lung/s was compressing his recurrent laryngeal nerve which innervates most of the laryngeal muscles.

This video makes me sad because any doctor could tell that he only had a few months to live, yet he was talking about being a survivor (rightly so). All the places we will go...all the places we will go.

  • 9/11 did that to him, I honestly, remember seeing him with pen ink on his shirt, worried and fear on his face.

  • Cigarettes are killers. I smoked a pack a day and loved every minute of it but knew I had

to stop. Peter Jennings took a few years more than I did to make that decision and lost

his life. Luck? In any case, Peter Jennings, in my opinion, was and still is the classicist

news anchor of all time. He remains with us with this and many other videos.

  • And media has not been the same since.

  • Most professional newsman ever.

  • RIP Peter jennings

  • He's a tough act to follow. He was in a class all by himself.

  • This made me cry. I grew up watching him. Hearing him. I could not wait to get home and turn on the telly and watch Mr. Jennings tell me what's going on in the world at the moment. I'm so glad to be able to still hear his voice. Ha remember when he reported the news without his pants....only Peter. <3

  • R.I.P. Jennings

  • There aren't any reporters like Peter Jennings nowadays.

  • Peter Jennings, Edward R Murrow, Walter Cronkite, voices of the generations. Peter you were the voice of my childhood.

  • R.I.P LEGEND <3

  • Comment removed

  • Peter Jennings has one thing that one else had... hosting the legendary ABC News Millennium all day coverage.

  • Even when discussing something personal, he still holds on to his sense of proressionalism. Definitely one of the last of a dying breed.

  • I miss him every night when the news comes on.

  • the good die young, RIP boss

  • Peter Jennings is dead?!

  • it's so weird to think that he's been dead for 6 years...I feel like I could still turn on ABC and catch him covering the GOP debates...

  • thanks for the memories Mr. Jennings !

  • Murdered by the tobacco pushers and their ILLEGAL weapon of mass destruction!

BAN THE ILLEGAL TOBACCO DRUG, NOW AND PROSECUTE THE TOBACCO PUSHERS!

  • I cried when he died. Peter Jennings was welcomed guest in our house every evening. His presence on television was what comforted me during the Sept 11th attacks. He made sense out of the chaos of this world. I remember thinking "What would Peter Jennings have to say" during Hurricane Katrina, Haitian earthquake and other disasters. He is truly missed :(

  • Toronto boy.

  • He was the best. On the 10th anniversary of 9/11 I particularly miss his voice and his journalistic wisdom.

  • One of the last great evening news anchors. Jennings, Cronkite and Brokaw. The evening news as went to hell since they all left.

  • Peter Jennings was an natural :)

  • I use to watch Peter every night until Clinton was elected. I could no longer watch any National TV News knowing from the Internet just how much the truth was being concealed and spun. Therefore I missed his last broadcast but I'm glad it was posted here , I still liked Peter in spite of whatever news he was obliged to report.

  • i miss this guy

  • We are Peter Jennings fans my family, When we heard the news about his death we all said DAMN!!!!!!. We as a family never miss a broadcast. We salute you sir. God bless you family.

  • I remember this ... really sad may he R.I.P.

  • I wonder if anyone has the actual ABC News Special Report that appeared when Peter died?

  • R.I.P. Peter. You would have been 73 years old today.

  • @coolbeauty09 Still hard to believe he's gone

  • he died on my sisters 6th birthday

  • Liberal as he was, there was never anyone better at breaking a story. RIP and Semper Fi

  • RIP, Peter. You've been one of my favorites.

  • Him & Lloyd are the Canadian giants of news

  • Grew up watching World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. My dad and I spent a lot of time together watching the news. Peter is quite possibly the best anchor this nation has ever seen. He will be remembered with a smile.

  • Very very good journalist. RIP

  • ;-( very sad

  • Peter Jennings is one, if not THE best newsman ever.

  • @STOPobama1 And he also was a colleague with Kevin Newman, former host of GMA and Global National.

  • His expert coverage and professionalism got me through September 11th. I had no idea if my parents were alive or dead, he was who I turned to for stability and calm reassurance. Thank you, you kept me sane. You'll be missed

  • Miss You Jennings! RIP. all my respect to you and yours.

  • I always watched Peter Jennings in the Century Videos in school.

    Shame....

  • he was a great man, i always watched him on nightline.and a brave one who worked to the end.only the good die young....miss you peter

  • I remember this... He truly was the best. He faced Cancer head on, and with all the integrity he showed in the air. I miss him.

  • I miss Peter Jennings a lot... I do hope that his son will become like his father. To be a great new reporter and anchor....

  • Jennings and Brokaw..... Awesome Anchors.

  • Shortly before his death, he did an hour long report on the clergy sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. During the hour, he featured three of most egregious cases. By the end of the program you would think that every other priest was a potential child molestor (when in reality it is a very small percentage). He even concluded the program by suggesting that people not financially support the Church. This was hardly objective journalism. Rest in peace Peter Jennings.

  • There's another video where they talk about Jenning's last days. His voice already sounded raspy here, but unfortunately it did get much worse.

  • We miss you, Peter!

  • the only man i ever trusted on tv

  • I miss you, canadian or not, we wanted to americanize you! XD. But in all seriousness. Take care, and Ill see you up there one day.

  • Peter was the man.

  • Oh my goodness and people like Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly are still alive!

    Damn!

  • I have a new term to descirbe media lies...Ratherisms, or Rather Journalism.

  • any kind of cancer is sceary i should know my wife sherlene was told by a doctor in tulsa she had pancreas cancer and needed surgery right away or she would die a slow painfull death he after the surgery he told us te was wrong it was not cancer after all then he went on vacation and sherlene spent three months in a coma please if your planning on having surgery watch ms bones 1950 a waiting grave or ms bones 1950 a slow death on youtube

  • Gotta love the Marlboro commercial in the sidebar.

  • His poor voice; he can hardly speak.......I saw this when it aired. I was so sorry. Miss him. A real professional even though he knew it was the end........;-)

  • He was the only one who I really trusted.I had heard of Ed Murrow as a kid.I had seen Cronkite in his final broadcasts...and after their departure,Jennings was it.The best.

  • I didn't know that today was the anniversary of this broadcast. I was a fan, he was one of the last CLASSY reporters.... I remember seeing this when I was in Florida on vacation back in 2005. It seems like yesterday... RIP Peter.....

  • RIP

  • loved, loved Peter - the man had balls!

  • My God, he sounds as if a cheese grater tore over his vocal cords. Truly horrific.

Thanx fer this vital clip, m8..

and HOPE it makes people think SERIOUSLY about stopping smoking, or never starting

  • We lost the "Big 3" off of the air in a very short timespan there...

  • @JeanLaFoote0

??? Why do you have that opinion?

  • @JeanLaFoote0 Why's that?

  • @BonesTheCat a good reason, i dont want to draw attention to it. let me just say, if there is a hell peter Jennings is in it now. its a shame the cancer killed him so quickly.

  • " I was weak, and I smoked over 9/11 "

  • We miss you, Mr. Jennings. What an awful disease. Please purchase a copy of "A Beautiful Woman" by Jason McKenney at Amazon and help in the fight against lung cancer.

  • God bless you Peter . Rest in pease my friend .

  • He will be missed, wonderful journalist. I was just watching his report on the obesity crisis, I really enjoyed it. /watch?v=N3kRgetwJ3I

  • BOYCOTT TUCSON AZ THEY KILLED MY DOG SUKI ON 1/5/2011

  • This was unargbulary the best journalist of all time. I wish I could of met him, and I wish he didn't smoke.

  • He went out the way he always conducted himself, as a true professional.

  • I watched him on BBC news when the ABC part was shown. I liked him the moment I heard his voice and respected him not long after.

  • Just another Bias Liberal.

  • @roger6060 oh jeeze

  • @roger6060

    you're an asshole.

  • @HitlerSongs With your tag name being Hitler songs, you have a lot of room to talk. Oh, I forgot liberals loved Hitler, because he was one of the biggest Liberals of all time.

  • @roger6060 im guessing ur joking. hitlerb was as far right as ya get

  • @roger6060 What does NAZI mean? National Socialist Party. Thats pretty liberal to me.

  • @roger6060

    wikipedia entry for Nazi_Party

    "Political position Far right"

  • @CorrosiveSubstances That's your problem, you read and believe wikipedia. I know people that served under Hitler, their views of him and his policies were very liberal.

  • @roger6060

Perhaps you should try reading a textbook some day.

  • @CorrosiveSubstances What, Gov't controlled text book, Hitler loved big Gov't and control, and that's what liberals love.

  • @roger6060

Perhaps you should try reading a textbook some day.

The Nazi Party was allied with the German National People's Party. They were OPPOSED to the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).

  • @roger6060

Perhaps you should try reading a textbook some day.

The Nazi Party was allied with the German National People's Party. They were OPPOSED to the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).

The Farthest of the Far Left encompases Socialism and Communism. The Farthest of the Far Right encompasses Fascism and Nazism

  • ONE OF THE BEST. R.I.P

  • What a wonderful man. He was quite the journalist and just an amazing human being all around. Even in his own suffering he was still the wonderful professional. He will be missed so much.

  • My favorite Canadian.

  • @zekal10 America thanks Canada for loaning such a great man.

  • @Rawkarma yeah I can refute it. Check out my video Conspiracy Theorist Are Not Nuts Part 3 on my channel. Let me tell you what, you should just watch the whole series. I only have the first 5 parts done but you will learn a lot of important information that people need to know.

"We need an aggressive and independent press in this country that's willing to standup and speak truth to power which we no longer have in the United States of America" -Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

  • RIP Peter! :'( I grew up watching your newscasts every evening! I hope to see you again on "Afterlife News Tonight" after I die. Rate this comment if you agree! Miss you, Pete!

  • It's a damn shame that he's gone. What a great journalist-what a great person.

  • this "great man" was very good for America, after all he was an American not a Iraqi so he loved human rights but he thought some were more equal then others

  • @tareekhnawees You stupid fucking retard, he was canadian. Typical yankee cunt, can't even be bothered researching the mans background before posting a stupid racist comment. This man should be alive and you should be the one with cancer. Fucking bell end

  • Cancer is the #1 hoax played upon the West. Cancer's cure was discovered in 1902 by embryologist Dr. John Beard of Scotland. See the film: "World Without Cancer." Cancer, like scurvy & pellagra, is a vitamin-deficiency disease. Malignant cells & pre-embryonic cells (trophoblasts) are one-and-the-same. Indeed: cancer & embryos are new life. Errant healing cells = cancer.

  • We will always love you Peter.

  • I has a sad now. =/

  • VERY SAD TO SEE THE BEST NEWS BROADCASTER LEAVE FOR GOOD. HE WAS THE BEST EVER. R.I.P MR. SMOOTH

  • He seemed to have real integrity, embodied trust and nonbias, unlike those at Fox today.

  • His teleprompter should be retired!

  • love peter jennings

  • You don't want to go there, Peter. You don't want to go there.

  • I grew up watching Peter Jennings every night with my family and actually cried when I heard of his death. When I think of good journalism I think of Peter, thank you for educating me and countless other Americans on how to be a great inspiration Peter.

  • @LRK29485 same in my house. He was one of my 3 favorite tv personalities....

  • Damn this poor man...

  • @qqqTOXICqqq damn him to Hell?

  • I grew up watching this man tell us the news every night at 6PM. He was a man to admire and he will always be remembered by me!

  • Unlike people like Olberman, Maddow, Mathews, Hanidy, O'Riley and Limbaugh, people like Peter Jennings knew what real news was! You trolls seriously can't hide behind your keyboards and say that the sensationalistic and editorialised crap that even dares to call itself "news" today is as such.

    R.I.P Peter Jennings!

  • Great guy, I am sure they killed him. The method is familiar.

Just ask Jack Anderson who came very close to be the same victim to the same fate! Brit Hume is their last victim along with Aaron Russo, Jordan Maxwell Jack Otto etc, etc, Anyoe who dares to expose israeli/british criminals and their take over of USA in 1913

    RIP

we wont be til we bring the murderers to justice!

  • @Matey3 You're crazy, Matey. News reporters and anchors get cancer just like politicians, CEOs, and everybody else.

  • @Baritone45

Nop! Jack Anderson used to work for ABC news(Investig, reprtr), 1 day he got tipped off that CIA has put something on the steering wheel of his car, where if he touches it he will die of a horrible death in few days, his nervous system will go thru total collapse slowly driving him insane before death...

He said that on TV himself and that was in late 70's, today they can hit you with wireless if they wanted to hell there are enough evil bastards out there who'll do anything for a $

  • @Matey3 What an exciting world you live in, Matey.

  • @Baritone45

thanks for (at least) being polite in your replies!

but seriously, my hunches/intuitions have never failed me, I know I cannot prove anything to you or anyone else but this is the world We All live in, the stuff that went down in 1913 and continues on still today are "Stranger Than Fiction".

Read the book by the same name (google it ) it's by Dr. Albert Pastore. I got it from amazon but it is available online 4free!

We've been robbed, killed, dishonored, degraded, made fun of, mockd

  • I remember watching him my whole life, and on 9-11, he was the man I wanted to watch. I sat there with him for 36 hours, his voice made me feel calm while the world was coming undone. I have heard that he sat there and gave the news for hours without even going to the bathroom, like he couldnt turn away just like myself. I remember his voice saying 'my god' and for a professional to be shocked like that was something. But the sound of his voice saved me during those hours.

  • My favourite news anchor - a man of integrity and consumate professionalism. I truely hope he rests in peace.

  • @TheGroovyRecordStore he was one of my favorites to. I to hope he's resting in peace.

  • @richardruhe YEP! Also listen CAREFULLY to all of his videos on 9/11 there's so much information there. I find something new every time I listen to them. The demolition thing is not a theory anymore I must correct you though :) its FACTS! as much as some people might want the "conspiracy nuts" to go away. You can't deny scientific, proven facts!

Justice will prevail it might not be soon but there will be justice!

  • @enrriqueiglesias00 Hey man.I've been goin thru alot of footage from 9/11 and somethin about PJ always gave me the feeling that he knew this was all bullshit & was hinting at it & droppin clues (Like reporting about NORAD on 9/11).Just now,I looked him up to see when he was diagnosed with cancer & like I suspected,it was after 9/11 & right before he died. Funny he mentions 9/11 in this show.

  • @bloodystump3 Very quick! I must add. If he didn't smoke in 20 years but only over 9/11 is an extremely suspicious death! even himself cannot believe it how quickly it happened. Of course he was rubbed out! That's what u get for talking unfortunately. I am sure some of the NWO elites hated him with all of their guts!!!

Like Peter said: " But whatever the reasons (implying that smoking definitely could not have been the reason) news does slowed you down a bit.

JFK, MLK, PJ Amazing people! RIP!

  • @enrriqueiglesias00 Oh, sorry to see that you're one of the wackos who wants to believe something fantastic while you ignore the obvious.

  • Interesting. Politicians responsible for 300,000 dead Iraqi civilians while they let the real terrorists get away are held up as heroes while comentators who report what they do are called communists.

  • @72gisele Peter Jennings a communist??? could you elaborate a little bit more on it so I can attempt to try to understand your point of view? I see how maybe an idealist but a communist am not sure about that.

  • @enrriqueiglesias00 Don't try to understand the haters, the wackos, those that love guns more than people, those that worship the name of Christ but ignore the message of Jesus. Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Bachmann and all their naive Populist and hateful Fascist followers defy logic. They're not worth your time to listen to or try to understand.

  • People should learn from this. Smoking = cancer. It's not cool. It's not fashionable. It just makes you sick and kills you. Guys, it can make you soft, yeah you know what I mean!

  • If you quit, never start again.

    RIP Peter.

  • He must have learned very late that he had lung cancer. If I recall it didn't take long from the diagnosis until his death. I have had two relatives die of lung cancer and they did not sound like that until many months later.

  • Brian Williams Lookalike..... RIP

  • Bizarre, self indulgent and unprofessional.

  • @MrGrevy How is this bizarre? Let's see how you handle yourself in front of a camera when you know you probably have a real chance of dying.

  • @KDALove I wouldn't be on tv for one thing. The news is not about him. That's why this is unprofessional.

  • @MrGrevy Well he has served an anchor for the nightly news for years, I think he deserves a little bit of time to reflect on his work and his life as he was about to die.

  • Cannabis sativa is a leafy-green plant therefor, invariably, it contains the bitter substance of Amygdalin the molecularity of which breaks down into 2 parts glucose, 1 part hydrogen cyanide and 1 part benzaldahyde (an analgesic pain reliever). It's the hydrogen cyanide that destroys the negatively-charged cancerous cells. This form of cyanide only effects malignant cells. Indeed many B vitamins, all of which we cannot live without, contain a form of cyanide.

  • @kanukster The libs love to tell everyone how to live...but don't follow their own advice.

  • @kanukster You have no honor. The man was dying, and this was his last broadcast. Do you have any humanity left?

  • miss this guy...

    God speed...

  • There really was no other anchor like him.

  • @Syzy9ial THank God.

  • Good night Peter R I P

  • Does anyone recall the speech PJ made about being a proud American and that he always carried the .... constitution ? with him?

  • respectable journalist, who didn't run after cheap stories and respected his audience. RIP PJ

  • he went out, very positive and like a true man..much respect due to him

  • i deeply respect this man...truely do and always will

  • Already almost 5 years, hard to believe.

  • Wow... Forever classy. A stunningly professional farewell. Peter Jennings was the best, but this video makes me well up a little bit.

  • ["This is the scientific reality that the seeds of all common fruits (except citrus) contain vitamin B17, an anti-cancer vitamin. If we ingest proper quantities of these vitamins, either in the pure form or through ingesting the nitrilosidic foods, we will be able to prevent cancer just as surely as we are able to prevent scurvy by the use of vitamin C or pernicious anemia by the use of vitamin B12." — Ernest Krebs, Jr.]

  • What an incredibly light-hearted, honest, intelligent, down-to-earth man. R.I.P. Peter Jennings.

  • Errant healing cells = cancer. The substance Amygdalin (rich in hydrogen cyanide) is found in the seeds & kernels of apples, pumpkins, pears, plums, apricots, peaches as well as in bamboo, beet-tops, millet, bitter almonds & salmon berries. Amygdalin (a.k.a. vitamin B17, and known as Laetrile when derived fr. apricot kernels) is the preventative, treatment & cure for the chronic metabolic disease: CANCER.

  • @ThePregnancySlaves bullshit.laetrile dosn't cure anything.I've been reading about laetrile for years and know that it is quack medicine for the purpose of exploiting a sick person's desperation. Many people spent their life savings going to Mexico to get this bullshit "treatment"and all that was acomplished was some quack getting rich. They all died.Shame on you you monster and don't tell people that shark cartiledge prevents and cures cancer either.Surgery, chemo and radiation can cure at times.

  • I miss Jennings' wistful little smile at the end of his story delivery. He was a class act.

  • great canadian

  • Anyone else find it ironic that Heston outlived Jennings by almost 3 years?? I think a Psalm says teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

  • I don't get how anybody can think smoking was ever ok to do. Sucking smoke into lungs clearly designed for air is insane. RIP Peter Jennings.

  • You hate the oil companies now? Hate the tobacco liars even more. Smoking kills.

I'm done with paying people a sizable amount of my income to kill me. I quit. RJR and Phillip Morris can kiss my ass. They're lucky. I won't charge them for the shame.

  • My God in Heaven to Peter Jennings.

I watch you on SBN 21 back in 1992 in

the Philippines. You are a great reporter
