They said the fourth season was a possibility. And the Avatar writers are laid off right now as far as I know.

no..the writers aren't laid off, I know this for a fact becuase my uncle works at the Nick offices in NYC, and he gives me alot of info on new shows Nick is starting and when new episodes for shows will appear! and the 'big project' they are working on is the Avatar movie! they are helping shyamalon with them!! there's your reason why it's taking 5-6 months for new avatar!!
