This dungeon was SO hard. I knew I shouldn't have tried it as a level 12, even though it advanced me to level 16. I exausted my supply of healing potions and had to put the difficulty down to novice for the last 10 minutes!

The reason the puzzle isn't opening on the console version of the game is because bethesda put the symbol on upside down in the turn wheel and has yet to patch the console version (they have patched the PC version for this glitch however)

If you are having problems with your spike door not going down, go back to the pedistal that the glass claw was on. jump up on it, or drop an item on it and take it off. it's a pressure pad.

Attention to those who can't get the door open!

If you can't even make any of the rings move then just exit out to another part of the dungeon to auto save and re-enter the door you just exited. Run back to the door and it should work.

If your puzzle door does not open even if you have the correct order then this is what you do: Make sure that the symbols on the 3 rings are all lined up correctly. Then spin each ring 3 times till they go back to the same correct order.It should open.

i am lvl 57 (max sneak, max conjure, max onehand, max enchant, max smith). I sneak the whole dungeon and 30x OHKO all the deathlord and death overlord even the priest ( seriously at 5x lvl u meet deathlords more than other scourge =]])

This is the worst fucking dungeon in the game. I swear there were probably about 10 draugr - and not the easy ones! It was probably like 3 Deathlords and 7 Scourges - attacking me at one time!

oh yeah i am lvl 49 and used dawnbreaker, lvled up 2 on weapon skills, but couldn't kill the end bosses! use the right shouts and a different blade and you will be fine...

found it out! i used dawnbreaker and that caused some explosions, after that the claw was on the ground, just look near where it should be, furthermore that caused the gate to open and close, i used unrelenting force (shout) again on the pedastal to active it again (you can also jump on it? idk) that will open the iron gate again, have fun!

@ 0:23 - Just at the end of that hallway, behind the (bowl of fire? - idk) there's 2 symbols on the ground... Like Z's, in circles. Red. Mean / do anything ?

@BrutalStatements fire runes. unless you've put a point in the talent that makes it so you won't trigger floor traps, they'll blow up if you get too close.

OK. I 100% solved the gate not opening after you have found the claw. you can just jump on the pedestal where the claw was (or was supposed to be as in this video) and tada... open gate :)

SOLUTION TO THE MISSING CLAW + DOOR BEFORE THE PUZZLE WONT OPEN:

you have probably ran past the claw (and pushed to it on your way), look for it on the ground, and run over the stone thingy where it was supposed to be to get the door open.

If u pick up the claw and jus search the gate will close so u should but sumthin on the altar of the claw and pull it off and wait by the gate and if u use the dawnbreaker itll send the claw flying

@Jdini417 I was having the same problem. All I had to do was reload the last save (I save right before I got to the door) and then the door worked properly. Hope that helps.

@Maper555 Sure you've figured this out already, in labyrinthian there is a secret room where you can place all 8 Dragon Priest masks, the note suggests the imperials are gathering the masks to assist with the war effort.

Go to Items and then look at each individual Claw Item. You will be able to see the correct puzzle on the bottom of the claw.

the correct pattern is on the claw, look at the claw in ur items and the pattern is on it

@Shankie67 Are you sure you click E on ring? It might bug caused by some mods too, try disabling your mods in launcher (Data Files option). Or maybe there is some official fix.

@Shankie67 The problem is with your pointer. Even though you are pointing at the correct ring or keyhole, it is not registering that you are. Just move your pointer around a little until it identifies the correct ring or keyhole you are trying to activate.

This problem also occurs when gathering ingredients off of walls.

@SmurfOntheRocks As I remember, in this dungeon there is second pedestal with some random item. After you take that item from pedestal, the gate will open. Yeah this dungeon is strange. Are you playing on PC or Xbox?
