I'd love to do that, but it's probably better to start out with a different boat. If someone is new to sailing, what is a good brand of catamaran to start out with?

Try finding yourself a Hobie brand catamaran. They have a great range of sizes, and surely one will fit you. But beware!! Dont buy a catamaran without any sailing experience, start small (mono-hull) and from there go on to a catamaran!!

You can easely start with a hobie 16.

Easy to sail. though boat in all conditions.
